Not being a real outdoorsy person, and only having whitewater rafted once, I felt the $89 day pass was very reasonable. I arrived at the USNWC at open time, and paid $13 for parking. Once parked, I lined up at the Outfitters center to sign up for activities. It was already busy, so I was probably in line for about 20 minutes to get my spot for whitewater rafting. They make it sound like you can only do whitewater rafting once, but after speaking to my guide, you can only have one reservation at a time. Once you finish you trip, you can immediately sign up again if there are spots. As I was there relatively early, I was schedule for a 10am rafting start, which gave me plenty of time to walk around the check out the area before getting to rafting. My general thoughts: - Whitewater rafting was terrific. It was the main focus of my visit, and completely made my day pass worth it. My guide was fun and informative. The conveyer belt bringing the raft back up was operational while I did it, but later in the day, it looked like the conveyer was out of service, so everyone had to carry the rafts back up, which is quite a bit of extra work. Between the heat and extra carrying, I decided not to go back, otherwise I would have. - The bin storage service made it easy to rent a bin to store my gear. It often had lines, so I would recommend minimize the number of times you need to access it. You can access as many times as you want. - I did the kayaking at the flatwater area. It was a much more relaxing area that you can go at your own-pace. - The ziplines were a bit disappointing, unless you pay extra for the longer lines. The lines that don't require reservations are very short, and frankly, not worth doing unless it's your first time trying it. - Most of the rock climbing areas were closed off, and the few areas open was packed with small children. So I decided not to try it. - Because by late day, it was getting uncomfortably hot, so i decided not to do the rope courses, but they looked pretty good. - Entry to the area is free, so a good number of visitors hang out just to have picnics and watch. Overall, I enjoyed my visit, only because of the whitewater rafting. It's much more affordable then what I could do back at home. The ziplines are good for first timers. Ropes courses looked good, and flatwater activities are nice to move at a more relaxed pace. I can see why it's a popular place.

We were already set on a different boat at a different place, but so many people kept telling us to check out Talley's that we finally decided to go--more out of due diligence than anything else. That decision changed everything. The first person who greeted us was Billy, the owner himself. He spent a long time with us, not trying to "sell," but genuinely educating us about boats in a way that was actually enjoyable and easy to understand. Shortly after, we met Taylor, our salesman, who was equally patient, friendly, and never pushy. He walked us through the two boats we were considering, answered every question we had (and we had a lot!), and took us outside to see them in person. When we mentioned wanting to grab lunch to think it over, Billy insisted that anytime you buy a boat, you should be able to test drive it. That was something no one else had ever told us. True to his word, Taylor met us later that afternoon at Ramsey Park and gave us a full test drive. That was the moment we knew--we had found our boat. The customer service didn't stop there. When the boat was delivered, Tommy spent the entire afternoon with us--from 1:00 until after 5:00--going over every detail. However, the one thing that is certain is that not all all dealers who carry those boat are the same when it comes to professionalism and service. We had 3 brands that we narrowed our search down to and began reaching out to those dealers asking high level questions about the inventory, their thoughts on the models we were interested in, and various other questions from storage to maintenance that extend far beyond the initial purchase. There was really only one salesperson who went above and beyond to make sure I felt good about investing my time in stopping by their dealership to take a look at the boat of interest. Ed Florentino Jr. sent me about a dozen videos and sound clips explaining the differences between options I've had questions about, engines, and even a clip about how to winterize the boat before I even confirmed a demo with him. I immediately confirmed my appointment with Ed and drove out to Charlotte with my wife for a test drive. The experience could not have continued to be better but it did. Ed spent a good 30 minutes understanding what we were looking to get out of boat ownership and what was important to us. He then invested another hour showing us the boat and letting us get a feel for the Regal LS2. At no point did he try to sell us the boat we were on but just continued to ask questions and listen to our answer - if you're in the profession of selling you can appreciate this very much. Sara and Sharma were wonderful to work with providing insight and flexibility into the financing and answering additional questions for us as well. We were in and out of financing/paper work in no time. On our delivery day, Ed spent a good 5+ hours with us going over towing a boat, launching/retrieval, to docking. As new owners who were initially nervous and excited, I can't thank Ed for the time he spent with us to make sure we felt comfortable with our new boat and ensure that our first experience as boat owners was positive. I would recommend asking about horse power and age if you decide to rent from them. Price was comperable to Lake Norman Marina who we have used in the past.
