I'm giving this wass a 5 star review only for the staff. They're incredible. The food quality is not they have a lot of different options, but they have a combo for $6, you get the drink, the sandwich and some chips for $6. However, I said, okay, I'll go with the crispy Chicken Sandwich. And that had chicken and pork mix together. That's not my ideal of a Chicken Sandwich. So in order to get what I thought was pure chicken, I ordered the grill sandwich and I couldn't eat that stuff, I took it back the next day Exchange it for a breakfast item. And the Panini sandwich was pretty good. But it's not ordered the way I asked them to fix it. They ran out of wild wild discount cards that's unacceptable. I understand it's by the highway. I stopped at this Jacksonville Wawa for dinner on my way from St. Augustine to North Carolina back on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023. I ordered a seasonal Turkey Gobbler. This one came with roasted turkey breast, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. In addition, I ordered lettuce and tomato on my sub as well to make it hoagie style. The sandwich was delicious. I thought Wawa's concept of Thanksgiving food on a sub to be successful. For ordering, food is selected with a kiosk, prepared at a kitchen, and the customer pays for it with a receipt at the checkout register. I enjoy having Wawa when I'm visiting Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I would recommend people in those states to go to these stores for their food. read more

I stumbled across Yelp Elite Maya's review about Wawa and their grand opening on Bowden Road and Phillips Highway corner. I was about to hit the road to run many errands. I needed to gas my car up, so we went there. I filled up with gas and then went and put air in the tires. Then ran in to use the bathroom. I saw that Maya said, "free coffee" for the next ten days. There were so many people there getting coffee, I chose to bypass the coffee. Clean and nice store. I hope they will continue to stay nice. Wawa continues to grow in the Sunshine State and that is great news for Floridians, especially us Floridians who somehow found our way from the northeast where Wawa built an empire. What is not to love about Wawa. Yes, it is a gas station, but it honestly is so much more. It is a place you can get a freshly sliced sub 24/7, as well as other food items. It has the soft pretzels that remind me of Philadelphia. It offers so much and holds many great memories for me. I strongly recommend a visit to Wawa. Yas! There's a Wawa super close to me! I was able to attend the Grand Opening which was more exciting than it sounds. The early folks who stood outside waiting for the store to open at 8am received a handful of Wawa free food and drink coupons and hand clappers. We received exclusive Wawa Jacksonville shirts, squeeze bottles with more free coupons, and dozens of greetings from the staff and managers from all levels. They offered free coffee of any size for 10 days and people attacked that area. I decided to get a breakfast quesadilla and had just placed my order not long after their kiosks went down. The managers wasted no time in covering them up, calling "Technology", and grabbing pads and pens to write down orders. It sucks that it happened but it was great to see them all help out. They also had food samples being passed around. I tried their chicken corn chowder which was surprisingly pretty good and their glazed donuts which tasted similar to KK but a little different to me. I didn't stay too much longer as it started get really busy and headed to work. After a long day at my job, I came home to check my mail and lo and behold, I received a Wawa mailer with even MORE free coupons! How about that? They can have all my business! So all these years I've only heard great things about Wawa from so many people, so naturally my expectations were pretty high. Well this Wawa location stepped all over those expectations like a high-heeled bandida stomps her cigarette butt before making her way to her next victim. I needed some coffee on the way to work, so instead of stopping at my usual RaceTrac or Gate stations, I decided to grab a cup a Wawa. What a terrible mistake. I pulled in; navigating the parking lot and parking was a pain. Then as I entered the store I found my way to the coffee station and grabbed a cup. I put my cup up to the coffee urn for regular coffee and it was empty like a dry desert; but there was a mirage in sight. There sat an urn marked Cuban coffee; I love some Cuban coffee because of the punch it packs like Mike Tyson knocking out a shark. So I poured full cup and proceeded to the cream and sugar stand; it was as filthy as the downtown streets. There was creamer, sugar, and trash all over the section where you top off your coffee with those delights. Obviously they don't care about cleanliness at this store from what I've read in other reviews. Anyway, I topped off my coffee and went and stood in line for a cashier to pay for my coffee. I finally get to the register and she rings up my coffee without saying a word. I hand her a lottery ticket and she says "What's this?" in a nasty manner and I say "It's a lottery ticket..." like where has she been her whole life. She says "This Wawa. We don't do lotto at Wawa." "OK!" I say. I say something trying to be funny like "I can't believe a store doesn't do lottery; even the coffee costs more here than at other covenience stores." "This Wawa!" she replies. Well Wawa sucks is what I am thinking. Already having decided to not grace this store with my presence again I take my change and leave. I get in my car and start to head to work. I take a sip of my Cuban coffee from "This Wawa" and it tastes as weak and as disappointing as a flavored water; as if I just bought water with a hint of coffee. Also I noticed were the gas prices on the sign are turned off. I guess you get to the pump to find out the prices. So Wawa I can't love you, I can't even like you. You are like a bad coworker that gets by on everyone else's work. I'll take my coffee business to Gate or RaceTrac from now on. Oh yeah, I can do the lottery at those stores as well. Aside from randomly running out of things I want (1st world problems I know) the staff is rude and this location is always gross. This is also the ONLY wawa in Jax that cards for smokes... I know that sounds like I'm being extra but I pay for most things with Apple Pay so I don't carry my wallet. Again the ONLY one that scans the ID... I usually have it, today I didn't. Other locations just ask for the birthdate (especially since my beard is grey) this cashier wasn't having it. He was pissed someone pulled him off whatever he was doing and his attitude transferred over. This was just the straw that broke the camels back. I arrived here around 2:00am or 3:00am, and the cleaners were mopping the floor outside the bathroom before the bathrooms were even cleaned. As customers walked across the floor one yelled, "Hey!" When I entered the bathroom there were droplets of urine around the whole seat. The trash can was overflowing. The toilet tissue was taken out of the tissue dispenser, just laying on the handrail. The toilet seat cover dispenser was empty, and there were pieces of toilet tissue on the floor. When I returned from the bathroom I told another customer about it, and she left before even walking into WAWA. The cookies and sandwiches are too expensive. Two cookies and one sandwich should not be ~$10. I would not recommend coming here during dark hours. Improve. Completely service the stalls and restrooms before mopping the floors. Keep a log of dates and times in which the restrooms have been serviced. Keep customers informed. read more

We visited friends in Jax fl. Riding in the car, one says "I want some chicken noodle soup from Wawa" I said, "wait what? That's a gas station?!?!" She said "yeah, it's awesome . Management is amazing here, the only issue is sometimes the food/beverage ordering is closed due to recent staff shortages (its understandable right now though because of covid) food is always great and so are the drinks, its definitely busy here but food and drinks are worth the wait. It's WaWa, so it's good, but the bathroom is a circle of Hell manifest on our Earth. It never seems to fail that there's everything from chewed-up food items in the sink, to masks strewn on the ground, to toilet paper and fecal matter absolutely everywhere. It seems the staff can't keep up with the unholy offenses against sanitation that the zombies wander in and leave, and I guess there's not much oversight or holding patrons to accountability either. This was easily the worst trip I have ever made to a wawa in my life.. to start I was charged by a homeless person not wearing a mask that follow me inside and stood behind me begging me for $2 while I was ordering the food.. he eventually stopped and left, but in return the employees took 15 minutes to make very small food orders and completely destroyed them as well! Almost like trying to repay me for not giving the man $2.. jokes on them I used $2 and bought and gave the man doughnuts instead. The business is good. Employees helpful. Elda went out of her way to fix the coke machine for me. The problem I have is people are always begging for gas money in parking lot. I watch one person beg for gas from several people and probably got a full tank of gas from several people. I believe in helping people but when you see someone smoking cigarettes and begging for gas shows priorities are in the wrong place. read more

Everything tasted fresh and although the store was packed, my burrito came out in a timely manner. They had plenty of registers open and I was out before I knew it!
