Once upon a time, this place was a beacon for the weary traveler: cheap gas, hot coffee, the promise of a Subway sandwich assembled by human hands. Now it is merely a stage where apathy performs its endless matinee. The gas attendant, tethered to his phone like a life-support machine for boredom, filled my tank without once acknowledging that I too was a living creature. In New Jersey, where we are not trusted to pump our own gas, this adds insult to injury. Inside, the atmosphere was that of a small-town post office at closing time, with fluorescent lights buzzing like anxious bees over a clerk who looked as if enthusiasm had been outlawed. My coffee was sold with the sort of resigned detachment one might expect from a mortician. The Subway counter stood empty, a ghost kitchen in the most literal sense, with no artist to craft a footlong, only the echo of long-gone lunch breaks. And then, the restroom. Ah, the restroom. To call it "acceptable" would be to commit a crime against adjectives. It served its function, I suppose, in the way that a leaky umbrella still technically keeps the rain off one's head. Still, it is what it is: a place to refuel, refill, and reconsider your life choices. You can get food. You can get gas. You can use the facilities. But you will not get joy, nor even a smile.

I ended up in the ER with diarrhea, severe vomiting and uterine cramping. I couldn't keep food down for two days and lost my appetite for four more days after that. The way Wawa handled this was appalling: Destruction of Evidence: I told Catherine C (Customer Relations) I planned to contact a lawyer that I know who could have the food tested for further contamination. She insisted I return it to the store for 'internal testing.' I complied. The store manager, Nambia at the time offered me $6.99 to resolve the issue. I later found out that Wawa's Corporate team contacted the store and instructed them to discard the salad. Dismissive Corporate Response: Michelle Chapman (Michelle.chapman@helmsmantpa.com) has been completely dismissive of my trauma. She passed the blame to their supplier, Taylor Farms and did not provide any further resolution beyond $6.99. Wawa tricked me into giving back the evidence, destroyed it, and now refuses to take accountability. Take caution if you eat at this Wawa. Side note: I have been going to wawa faithfully since I was a child...sometimes 10+ times a month, which my wawa app will reflect. The way the store manager and corporate handled this is disappointing to say the least.

This Walgreens is trying. I'm giving it three stars because it's the only drug store in this part…read moreof downtown Wilmington along the busy Market Street corridor. But it's sort of a sad store. I walked by a bunch of times before realizing that it was even open, because the outside looks like it might be abandoned. (There are many closed shops on nearby side streets, so it was a distinct possibility.) You can find all the essentials here, from beauty to bandaids and snack foods. The store is clean and not empty but sort of low on stock. Basically, nothing remarkable. If you are in this part of the city and need something in a pinch, Walgreens might be your only option.

This Burger King location for me gets 4 stars solely on the accuracy of the orders and the way the orders are prepared. 3 stars on speed and sadly like most Fast-food Restaurants 2 stars for employees being friendly and welcoming.(Only Chick-fil-A employees do that well) I ordered a Double Whopper with Cheese, and when I unwrap it and it looks neat and appetizing. Not a mess like some locations. I've never been to a Fast-food place and the food looks like the menu board or the commercials but I hate when I get it and it looks like the employees were just throwing it together, that is not the case with my experiences at this location. Not the fastest at getting me my order, but for me, accuracy and presentation is more important than speed. This is the closest BK to me so I will update next time I go.

When I arrived, I attempted to go inside, but the doors were locked despite the posted hours indicating the dining room was open. With no other option, I entered the drive-thru. There was only one car ahead of me, but it appeared to be waiting for quite some time before even placing its order. When I finally reached the speaker after several minutes, an employee abruptly said, "I'll be right with you," and immediately cut off any chance for me to respond. The problem is they never came back. Fifteen minutes later, the vehicle ahead of me was still sitting at the pickup window waiting for its food. At no point did anyone return to take my order, acknowledge my presence, or attempt to help me. Since my order was already placed through the app and consisted of nothing more than a piece of pie, it would have taken only a few seconds to assist me or direct the other customer to pull forward if their large order was causing delays. After wasting a significant amount of time, I left without receiving any food at all. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was nearly as bad as the restaurant experience. Contacting Burger King customer service meant dealing with an AI system that seemed incapable of handling anything beyond generic scripted questions. After I took the time to explain exactly what happened, the conversation abruptly ended. The follow-up email from customer service was equally disappointing. Their initial response to a customer who never received their order was to offer a $3 coupon--as if I would want to return and risk repeating the same experience. A refund should have been the first offer, not a coupon designed to get me back into the same situation. Only after I rejected the coupon did they finally offer a refund for the food I never received. This location has serious customer service and operational issues, and corporate customer service appears more interested in handing out coupons than properly addressing legitimate complaints. Between the locked doors, excessive wait times, complete lack of communication, failure to provide food that was paid for, and ineffective customer support, this was an exceptionally poor experience from start to finish. I will not be returning and would strongly encourage management--both at this location and at the corporate level--to reevaluate how customers are treated.
