My Brazilian wax with Akeya was awesome! The overall experience could use some improvement. The waiting area is confusing since there is no where and no one with whom to check-in. She has great technique to minimize the pain and a true professional. Sugar Baby uses hard wax, which for me is less painful and better for my skin. A great experience! Akeya was professional, personable and super efficient. I dunno if I have a particularly high pain tolerance, but the Brazilian seemed to go by in a flash...and it had been years since my last one! Bravo to Akeya for that. The only weird thing is having to sign a waiver to enter the building (it's a gym, so they need to make sure they are covered in case a dumbbell falls on your head), but it's a small inconvenience. I've gone to several different places for my Brazilian waxes over the years. I dread them and often times have to be 'prompted' to go by an upcoming vacation or whatever else. This was my first time getting a Brazilian wax. Aside from the embarrassment of pulling and lifting, the experience was virtually pain free. I thought I'd be in tears, but nope...just brief (very brief) discomfort. I was surprised, considering all the horror stories I've heard. You can even book your LS rate online, avoiding a problem I've had with other places' LS deals where they make it almost impossible to schedule. Kasi was beyond professional, talking me through the whole process and explaining the products she was using and what they were being used for. I went in to get waxed based solely on other reviews on Yelp and I was not disappointed. I have never had a brazilian wax before and was extremely nervous. I initially made my appointment with Akeya. However, she came was sick and notified me that she would not be able to make it in that day. She took every effort to ensure I could be accomodated by Kasi the same date and even made the change for me in their booking system. Like previously stated, I have never been waxed before so I don't have much to compare it to. However, Kasi made sure I was comfortable and explained the entire process to me at each step.
