How Stefani doesn't have more reviews is beyond me! I came across Stefani's website because I was looking for a place that uses hard wax. I booked a same day appointment earlier this morning and was glad to see there was availability. Within minutes of my confirmation email, I got a text from Stefani to confirm my appointment. She then sent me a text message (not automated) with directions on how to get to the building and how to get inside. Oh, did I mention, there were pictures too? It really does not get easier than that. I followed Stefani's crystal clear instructions and got into the building with no trouble at all. The waiting area is very spacious and clean. I sent Stefani a text to let her know that I was outside and she responded instantly! Within a few minutes, she came out to greet me. Her work station is very well lit and spotless as well. Stefani has shots available to calm your nerves whether it's your first time getting waxed or your tenth time! If I didn't have to go back to work after my appointment, I would've definitely taken her up on her offer! Stefani's technique is fantastic! I've seen four other estheticians prior that all boast "painless" experiences. I can truly say my experience was painless. All the other estheticians I have seen cause me to wince when the wax is pulled off, despite them all using hard wax. Not once did I wince during the whole process with Stefani. You might think that painless is the equivalent to messy work that leaves behind strays. Not true in the slightest here. The main detail that differentiates Stefani from the other estheticians I've seen, is that she has a magnifying glass. She looks through the glass to double check the work and tweezes any strays. I was given a mirror to check the work, but didn't need it. Took a quick glance and everything was spotless. No strays at all. I have a low pain threshold, and Stefani made the process very easy. My usual esthetician is out of town, but I could not wait until next week. I came to Stefani because she uses hard wax instead of soft wax with strips. If you are unfamiliar, hard wax dries quickly and does not use strips. It is much gentler on the skin and does not hurt as much. If you have sensitive skin or a low pain threshold, I recommend you try the hard wax. I texted Stefani with some questions before making an appointment, and she was very responsive. My best friend gave me the old school yelp by telling me I MUST TRY waxing by Stefani- and like most other things, she was right! The Salon itself was beautiful and luxurious. I think the waxing table may have been more comfortable then my bed. What was my life like before Stephanie? I can't even remember. I just moved to SF and have been to Stephanie twice and both times I've been in and out in under 30 minutes. This NEVER happens. Simply put- She's incredible. It was my first time doing a Brazilian (something which I had been contemplating for years now) and have heard nothing but excellent things about Stefani. Soooo I was 3 months pregnant and starting to have trouble shaving my lady parts. I thought, "I can just grow it out! That's totally natural! Based on her yelp reviews, Stefani seemed like a good choice... And the crowd is correct. Sure, it felt like the bundles of hair around the most sensitive part of my body were being ripped out. But Stefani was pretty quick and efficient at it, all the while coaching me along, getting me to breathe, and letting me curse. She even distracted me a bit with good ol' conversation. This place was right around the corner to my house and after doing some research discovered she had been in business for years. Her website was great, simple, to the point. She offers two ways to make appointments: e-mail or text. I immediately texted her and requested an appointment within the hour (hey, might as well try!). Distracts you so you don't think too much about the pain (yes, no matter how good a person is, it always hurts at least a bit) and then before you know it, it's over! I love seeing Stefani for my eyebrows - she is a true artist, always very thorough. I trust her, but I love that she checks in with me before, and during, giving me a mirror so that she knows we are on the same page.
