The salon itself is always clean and inviting and honestly gives the whole Santa Monica vibe so I always feel at home. I was a walk in and grateful they had an opening within 20 mins. My last visit was my third trip to this location so I can assure you that if you live in El Paso or in town in need of waxing come here! The process is seamless and the staff is very thorough and insightful. My most recent wax session was with Cerologist Pamela and she was AMAZING. Very conversational and wanted to make sure my eyebrows and nostrils came out perfect. Every visit I've had here has been wonderful from the moment you walk into the door. I appreciate them offering Vose water if you desire one. The wax they use here is high grade and not the cheap crap. No need to worry about burns or anything like that. They only focus on waxing here so you know that it's their passion to make sure every person who walks in has a great experience. After trying 6 different places for a Brazilian, I finally found my place. Finally. I had no idea this was a franchise but it became clear when I was offered to buy "after-care." Now to what's most important, I don't see a reason why you won't like whoever does your wax. Where to begin.. let me start with a back story. I've been a regular waxed for some time now. I like to get my brows done frequently & also always want to keep that pesky mustache at bay. I used to go salons that did waxing services & never thought i was receiving bad service , mainly because i was uneducated. I have very sensitive skin & would always receive irritation, or bumps , even burns after a wax. I always thought that was normal considering my skin sensitivity. Boy was i wrong!! I discovered Waxing The City here on Yelp. I'm not to sure why i decided to go out on a limb and make an appointment but i'm glad i did. When i walked in , i was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who also offered my bottled water. She gave me a paper to fill out that asked if i had any sensitivities or medical problems , which i was surprised about but in a good way. I was pleased that they were taking the time to know the customers needs. I waited a short amount of time & then i was greeted by my Wax Specialist Pamela. She was also very kind and friendly. She took me to my own private room where i could actually lay down on a spa bed. (at previous salons i've been to, they've done it out in the open). she also asked me about my skin and if i had any concerns. I let her know i do have very sensitive skin and most of the time i suffer from irritation and burns. she educated me on the different types of waxes that can & should be used on the face. she also explained important after care to help with my sensitivity. she gave me an anti redness and mask which helped soothe my skin . I was SO happy with the result. my skin looked flawless, un-irritated and no burns what so ever!! I highly recommend coming to this place! The prices are fair considering what amazing service they give. Finally a chain specialized in waxing comes to El Paso! I am tired of going to random nail salons or boutiques to pay for waxes that are poorly performed. My #1 criteria when looking for a good waxing spot is cleanliness. From the moment you walk in, you will notice that everything is extremely well polished, organized, and sanitary. There is no re-use of waxing sticks and there isn't a used towel lying on top of the waxing bed for you to extract someone else's leftovers from. Instead, a neat and tidy cart with plenty of fresh supplies and a fully paper-covered bed greets you upon entering the waxing room. Beyond this, the highlights of my experience focused on the patience and kindness of my Cerologist and the fact that I didn't feel rushed. Everyone who works there is warm and welcoming. My only note (may not apply to other customers) is that I prefer waxes that require fewer strips and are performed quicker. I understand that Waxing the City prides itself on taking time with customers, and I appreciate that. However, there is a difference between feeling rushed (like at a nail salon) and having a swift and smooth experience with the wax itself. Specifically, if the same amount of hair can be removed with one strip of hard wax rather than 5 smaller strips with the same amount of pain on each pull, I'd choose the one that minimizes the repetitions. For me, the sting of a large strip being removed is less than the sting of smaller strips with slight overlap in the same area. Overall, it was refreshing to find a waxing spot that is clean and comfortable! read more

From the start, I was greeted with friendly service in a very clean environment which almost had me sold that it would be a "5-star" place, up until I got to the register to pay. When booking my appt. over the phone 3 weeks prior w/ a lady named Fannie, I was quoted a total of $55 for a full leg AND Brazilian (Included a one time 50% promo for new customers) I had warned Domenica ahead of time of the services I was getting done and the price I was quoted after there had been a confusion of her thinking I was only getting my legs done? Although she seemed bothered at first, not once did she mention they weren't going to honor the price that was given for both services so I had assumed nothing was going to change, after all it was a simple mistake made on the behalf of her new employee. Domenica made me feel ashamed for asking to honor the original quote I was given after seeing my total being over $100 which I obviously was not prepared to pay for for even if I wanted to. It wasn't until then that they told me the 50% promo only applied to the highest paying service. I argued that I was given false information and would have never of made my appt. to begin with. In complete silence w/ a very pissed off face Domenica changed my total. As I apologized she rolled her eyes at me and walked away. On top of that, once getting home I then noticed there had been spots missed and the job was not done well in certain areas. Mind you, my wax only lasted 6 days! Definitely not worth the money nor the ugly experience I ended up having to deal with. Could have been a great experience since Domenica does make you feel comfortable overall through the whole waxing process but could definitely work on her communication skills with her clients when something goes wrong. read more

I recently moved to El Paso a few months ago from San Diego. Finding a wax place that you trust is really hard and nerve racking thing to do. I went to WTC for the first time in September I believe this is my 4th or 5th wax with them. The front desk staff is super nice! It has lots of comfy sitting spaces in case you have to wait for your appointment. I will say most of the time I'm about 5 minutes early and I haven't waited longer than 2-3 minutes to be called back for my wax. I've had many different cerologists at this location and they were all amazing! This week I had Martha who took her time and made sure everything looked great! I get a Brazilian and under arms done. The check out is a breeze. You can tip on the card you have on file if you don't have cash. I don't ever carry cash so that is always a plus for me. The front desk can schedule your next visit as you check out or you can book online. Amazing place to go, I highly recommend WTC. read more

I was very disappointed last time I was at waxing in the city in El Paso, Tx 79912. They have a 10-15 min late policy and they decided to take the client that was after me early. When I walked in within my time frame when they technically have to wait for you they told me that she took another client and that she would take 15 minutes. I decided to wait since obviously I am there for a reason. I asked them again after 20 minutes and they said "she will be 5 more minutes" ...35 minutes later she comes out as if she didn't have her client waiting and nothing was wrong. The service of the person I front was short and indifferent. Definitely not a place I would recommend. I am more upset about the policy of waiting for you being disregarded and also the continuous lying about the time I would have to wait. #waxinginthecity=bad service read more

Let me tell you a story about my eyebrows. They are not twins, they are cousins, they are a single monstrosity that sits above my eyes like its own living thing. I've been taming the beast for way longer than I like to think about and they've always turned out... fine. And fine is not what I want to say about the trophy of the slain monster that is my eyebrows. But Domenica is a master. My eyebrows have never looked better and I finally can say that my one eyebrow is now happily two. This review is for the manager. Staff are friendly and very professional. I went in for a visit and had my typical great experience. The esthetician missed a few spots. I couldn't go back the same day. I was off the following day and tried to get in. No appointments available. However, I was told I would be called if there were cancellations. By the end of the day I called and asked why I hadn't been called to tell me there were no appointments. It was a miscommunication. Fair enough. I requested another appointment and half off a future visit because my time spent reconciling the situation was getting drawn out in days. The manager refused any compensation stating that she was being GENEROUS enough not charging me to go back in. Blink blink! Not charging me to go in for a correction? Are you kidding me? Terrible customer service from the manager. My friend recommended Cure as a better managed facility. read more
