I never noticed it before, but a girlfriend of mine told me that I just *had* to go here. And now you all are shaking with anticipation and asking "Why, why, WHY here, of all places?!" I shall tell you why. I've been chubby all my life. The chub turned into being plain old overweight. And it's not fun, you know. Three pregnancies later and I'm way heavier (I won't say how much!) than I was in college. I was looking for a fix. I needed to find a way to rid myself of the fluff. I tried the HCG diet for about a month. If you don't know what that is, then be a smart person and Google it. In that time, I had lost about 16 pounds. Yay, me. My uber sexy and cool girlfriend had also done the diet and told me I should have lost TWICE that much. Come to find out, the HCG I was taking was WEAK SAUCE! Yes, truly! It was filled with ADDITIVES and FILLERS and extra crap. She told me to go to Alternative Health and buy me the GOOD STUFF. So I did. Just the other day. The stuff I bought looks like it has some serious MANA. It's dark orange, not like the clear stuff I bought online. I am totally stoked and cannot wait to say "Hello!" to skinny. Skinny bitch, here I come.

She uses Standard Process (which I've always found good) and other cutting edge nutrients ( buy the liquid chlorophyll and put in your water -it really gives my energy a boost )along with gentle adjustments that have surprising results. My knee went out from ballet and she fixed it in one session! I was amazed. Her prices are reasonable for those of us working parents on a budget and her caring for her patients and 'TLC' is admirable. I have the greatest respect for this gifted naturopath. Brenda is a blessing to the aina!

She is…read morevery personable and carefully listened to my concerns, reviewed my imaging, and asked appropriate questions. We proceeded with a PRP injection, which I learned that there was actual homework/prep work for me to do BEFORE the treatment that the hip MD didn't even tell me about! Such things like stopping NSAIDs, drinking, fasting, etc. to help make the PRP injection more successful. I would not have known this if it weren't for Dr. Ferrante. The injection went smoothly and I experienced significant pain relief. I will return to do the other hip now that I know how successful it is. I know PRP injections are expensive, but definitely worth the price (insurance doesn't pay for them thru a MD anyways). She made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as you can- these injections are sore) thru out the procedure, and increased my trust by providing me with a lot of information about what to expect before/during/after, and of course following up. Of note, when I came in for a hip follow up, she noticed I had a wrist brace on, and took initiative to inquire about this new injury and brainstormed a special taping to help offload/support the area (again, something that the orthopedic PA didn't think about) which also provided more stability/less pain for my wrist. She offered another treatment option for it if occupational therapy didn't help. I highly recommend Dr. Ferrante, she takes the time to listen, thinks outside the box, keeps you well-informed, and offers effective solutions to your health concerns.

I came in for a knee injury, and Dr. Jené Ferrante was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. She took the time to really understand what was going on with my injury instead of rushing through the appointment or just treating symptoms. That alone made such a difference. I've already started to see improvement, which feels amazing, and I appreciate how she explained everything in a way that made me feel informed and empowered in my healing process. You can tell she truly cares about treating the whole person, not just the injury. The integrative approach they use really stands out, it feels modern but also supportive of your body's natural healing, which I personally value a lot. I highly recommend Hawaii Natural Medicine if you're looking for thoughtful, personalized care and real results.

I had tried just about everything, and nothing really worked. After seeing Phi, my migraines are gone, my back pain is gone, and so many of my other issues have improved too. It honestly feels like a miracle. She's incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her patients. If you're on the fence about trying acupuncture, I can't recommend Phi Lan enough.

After the course of treatment, I now only get them maybe once a month or two! A HUGE improvement if you ask me. One particular treatment where I had an active migraine, I could literally feel the pain leave my head as she moved the needles down to transition their flow (prickly sensation) to my feet- it was WILD. Not only did she help reduce my head pain and frequency significantly, but she always presented a very warm and welcoming environment. I'm not entirely a fan of needles, but she eased me into it, and ensured I was comfortable thru out the process (the heated bed helps). She always asked how each needle felt, if it needed more or less pressure, and offered to check in on me halfway thru the treatment. She also did some cupping, which was new to me, and help ease the tension coming down my neck and shoulders. Front desk staff are nice too, they remember you after a few treatments. Definitely recommend Phi Lan for any migraine treatment! She's the best!

I started seeing Dr. Hill, during my working career, when I was a bundle of stress and was suffering through several post-operative procedures (wrist, shoulder and knees). At each visit, Dr. Hill was able to pinpoint and release/relieve my aches and pains (well, sometimes it hurts more at treatment) BUT, I always walked out of the clinic feeling more relaxed and in less pain. Along with chiropractic adjustment or manipulation, she has used various alternative and complementary medical treatments on me such as massage, cupping and acupuncture. I have total confidence in her knowledge and techniques. Checking in for your appointment is easy and fast. Each patient is assigned a patient account number which you enter into the digital tablet located at the reception counter. There, you can select the points of pain or discomfort as well as level of pain on the human diagram so that Dr. Hill will have a "map" to your symptoms to focus on. But, even if you've selected "No Symptoms", Dr. Hill will find something which you might have overlooked and you'll feel better when she works on you. Once your information has been entered, just take a seat in her spacious lobby and you'll be called in shortly. What I really like is that Dr. Hill has ALWAYS taken me ON TIME! I've never stressed about waiting for my appointment time. Just being in her newly renovated office and clinic gives one a sense of tranquility and being in touch with the natural beauty of Hawai'i. Her treatment rooms overlook the Kawainui Canal and Lanikai Beach. Sometimes you can see or watch canoe paddlers or wind sailers as you wait in the treatment room(s). Dr. Hill and her staff are friendly and professional. Leilani is Dr. Hill's office manager and she can assist you through any billing issues and/or insurance claims. I have been retired for 8 years but still go to Windward Wellness Center as I believe in and have benefited from Dr. Hill's alternative medicine treatments that will see me well into a healthy and productive retirement for years to come.

Her office is not the typical doctor's office which I love. I'm over the waiting rooms and being passed off to multiple people before getting to see the doctor. With Dr. Elizabeth you get to the source right away. I also chose her for my Laser Lipo because she has the latest technology. I did my research and the older technology burns more and possibly even leaves bruises. So let me just share with you what i experienced. It wasn't very sore, but it does test your comfort levels. It was very fast, the treatment time was 25 minutes long. Love that. Side Effects? Nothing major.. after day 1 feels like a minor sunburn on the area that the laser was applied. That feeling lasted for about a day or so. I definitely feel that it is WORKING. Still really early but I'll try to remember to post an update after the 6 and 12 week mark Being an FDA approved procedure meant a lot to me because i didn't want to be the guinea pig for any untested stuff. Means a lot to me that i can have easy access to her if i did have any post procedure questions... Cause after all... I did have a laser purposely destroy cells on the inside of my body.. lol. It's nice i can reach out should i need to. Thanks Dr Elizabeth for making the process quick (I know i can be impatient and I usually want things now) and for the most part.... Painless. Super excited!

Applying to this rotation has been by far one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. 2.   Meeting Dr. Christenson's was amazing. A truly eye opening experience. I enjoyed how she has found a way to incorporate western and eastern medicine. I like how she is an MD and so she know what our background is (as medical student). The way she explains / discusses topics to us is great because she knows what we need to know, for example, when she talks about the Yin and the Yang, she does so in a way we can quickly grasp the concept and figure at how to incorporate it onto our data bank. 3.   The Qigong practice we did at her office backyard was excellent and outstanding. I will always remember it. Personal experience is much better than reading something. Her harp was amazing too. It is such a beautiful instrument. 4.   I liked how she showed us different books, that way when we need a reliable reference in the future, we know where to go. 5.   I also liked hearing about Dr. Christenson's struggle with self confidence coming from a culture that expect women to be passive. I could identify myself with her in this way.     6.   If we, fresh out from medical school, do not have access to these knowledge, such as de-stress techniques, breathing exercise, yoga, massages, music therapy, etc... then how do we heal ourselves and our patients? I always felt that western medicine was not enough.  CIM comes into play here. Through this elective, I was able to learn this. Thank you for making the workload so manageable and light! It really gives us a tremendous once in a lifetime opportunity to heal and to grow!!!
