Hacker's Creek Kennel - Lola living her best life

I've trained countless dogs that I fostered so I know a little bit about training. I could not get through to Lola with my training techniques . I wanted to make sure that whoever was going to help me train my dog was not going to use pain as a method so no shock collars, no pinch collars, I wanted options before going that route.Hacker Creek Kennels was able to come to my house for training which made it very manageable . Within a few weeks of training Lola was doing so much better and she was no longer attacking me. She had better manners altogether. Before training we would have to get three grown men to try to hold her down to clip her nails , because she would attack anybody that touched her feet. It's been close to 4 years I think since the training if not a little longer and I'm able to sit down on the couch with her and play with her feet if I want. I can clip her nails without holding her down anymore. I'm able to have people come over to the house and have them come through the door without her jumping on them . Recommend 10/10

Bloomington Pet Sitters

We moved to Bloomington in February 2016 and didn't really know anyone in town. Wanted to go up and…read morespend Easter with family in NW Indiana but had to find someone to take care of our two older cats. Not super comfortable asking our new neighbors or friends of a friend, so we shopped around for professional sitters. We had read about Bloomington Pet Sitters in Bloom Magazine and checked out online reviews. We called Russell and he came by and took detailed notes about our cats care and feeding. He was very easy to work with, it was like talking to an old friend. He made us feel very secure and gave us peace of mind to go ahead with our travel plans. The folks who took care of our cats did a great job, everything was clean and tidy when we got home. Mail had been brought in. They left a sweet note about the cats. The price they charge is very reasonable and they just leave you a bill on the last day of the visit. The other thing we like is that if they do not hear from you that you are back, they will go ahead and keep coming to take care of your pets. This is great if you get stuck at an airport or have some other travel delay. We look forward to using Bloomington Pet Sitters whenever we travel. Great local business!

Bloomington Pet Sitters has cared for my three, now four, cats over the past year and three months…read more I travel a lot for my new job, and was deployed to Puerto Rico for six of those months. Of course, I was nervous at first. I had never used a pet sitting service; neighbors and family had always stepped in the few days in the past, here and there, that I was away from home. Like many, my pets are my family. Stacey provided the reassurance I needed, by replying to my messaging, and overall communications were excellent. When a kitty became ill, they administered medicine. And, in fact, even took one to the vet, with my coordination from afar. When food and kitty litter ran low, they shopped for the same brands, and just added it to my bill. I could not recommend them more. They have provided the peace of mind I needed so that I could go off and do what I needed to do. Kitties and I are together again, but I just wanted to write a short note of appreciation.

We have used Blooming Paws three times for grooming services for our Springer spaniel mix and it…read morewas really great. Just be VERY specific about what you want in terms of cut and if you have any special requests. I spoke to the office manager and was able to take him first thing in the morning and then pick him up right after because he doesn't like being kenneled. I also really love that you can book through the pet care app. Very convenient!

Saturday I got the daily picture update from them (that I had to pay extra for mind you ) and noticed Thor had a little poop on him. Nothing strange because Thor is notorious for rolling in poop so I didn't think anything of it. Monday morning 2 DAYS LATER I picked him up and he smelled terrible and was COVERED in poop (more than in the pic Saturday). I even made a comment about him having stuff all over him and asked what he got into and they said, "Probably everything" and left it at that. So he spent 2 days with poop on him and no one did anything to clean him up. We immediately took him to get a bath and Thor was wimpering and whinning the whole time. The groomer pointed out that his neck was completely rubbed raw down to his skin with fur missing. When we dropped him off they make us take his collar and leash so they used one of theirs on him while he was in their care. We immediately called them and was told a manager would call us. 10 minutes later we got a text message from them (not a call) basically saying this was not the standard they strive for. I told them they needed to call me because a text message is not it. The manager called and reiterate the same thing as a text and even went as far as to say that the reason his neck was raw was because they had to spray him down a few times and when it gets wet under a collar that can happen...if you KNOW this can happen "to a basset hound" why would you not dry them off to prevent the skin from becoming raw and a possible infection?!? Also, we have boarded him and taken him to Doggy Daycare numerous times before and never ONCE have we ran into this issue so don't feed me that bullshit. The manager did offer a complimentary bath and an exam on the house for Thor but if you think for one second I am ever trusting you again with my animals you've lost your damn mind. We took him to have him checked out at a vet we trusted 1.5 hour away to ake sure he didn't get an infection on his neck. Today (Thursday) I spoke to another manager and the interaction was ridiculous. First she started the conversation by asking what I think they could've done differently and then blaming the entire thing on "miscommunication" instead of acknowledging that they 100% neglected Thor while he was in their care. I got a partial refund after I asked about compensation but they have also since blocked me on Facebook after I tagged them in a post about our experience. Both managers response to this was disgusting and lacked any credibility. They are 100% trash and I do not recommend anyone send their animals there.

I've tried the multiple bowls of food & water with multiple litter boxes trick before, but that just leaves my kitties confused, lonely, and pooping on the floor. I decided to give Bloomington Pet Pals a call. They looked legit, and the prices were cheap enough. First, they scheduled a visit to come meet the cats and receive any special care instructions. Ann came equipped with catnip toys and treats, which was very appreciated. My cats are still playing with the toys she brought, five months later. While I was away, she treated the cats to a wet food Christmas dinner and sent an email to let us know that everything was fine, and even included a couple pictures. In short -- I highly recommend their service. My cats are young and don't have any special needs, but the Pet Pals are capable and passionate people who can certainly be trusted.

Ann from Pet Pals came out to our house before we left to meet us and Claire, our cat. Explained everything to us and made sure we felt comfortable. Pricing is very affordable and to my knowledge it is around the same price to board the animal, but without all the hassle. You get to leave your pet in the house with everything set up as normally, just show someone from Pet Pals what to do. HIGHLY recommended!
