Beautiful 200 year old house and wonderful tour guide helps capture a glimpse into the life Keller had not only at Ivy Green but on her adventures later in life to over 35 countries. Honestly, it was the middle of the week but there was no signage of any kind saying 'closed' and nary a soul could be found on the premise. We walked around back and looked at all the various rail cars (several very cool, very old cabooses and a 51 year-old boxcar) in hopes someone would saunter by and give us the lowdown. But alas, we drove off slightly disappointed. The building is of Victorian design, having been built in 1888 by the Memphis/Charleston Railroad. There's supposed to be some very cool hands-on interactive stuff inside. Perhaps when I return I'll be able to write more.
