W C Handy is the "father" of Blues, not only for being the first for including the name Blues in the title of a composition, but also for writing 5 book on the the history of Blues music. Without him, much of early blues history would be lost. The museum is attached to the cabin in which he was born (decorated with period pieces not original to the cabin before it was moved.) For music lovers who understand how blues has influenced later musical forms, I think this is a great place to visit. It is a very small museum, but has a lot of memorabilia from Handy's life, and many donated items.

It's tiny but packed with tons of information and facts on WC Handy, as well as lots of his belongings. Part of the museum is the Cabin that he was born in! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a pleasant experience. They do have a tiny gift shop inside for your souvenir needs!
