Summary: Bizarre experience with Illinois Charter. Observed bad driving and phoned it in to 1-800…read morenumber. Bus Driver answered and was very combative. [Additional Details below, my fiancee already provided a review below. Apologies for the lengthy read.] Scenario: My fiancee and I were walking with our dog down a city street in Arlington, VA (D.C.) when we came across bus 757 of the Illinois Charter Company. The light was red for the driver and we we're crossing the street with a crossing signal, which was in our favor. As we were crossing, the bus was inching up through the crosswalk and seemed to not be paying attention. We safely crossed the road, but then another pedestrian who was in the crosswalk was cut off by the bus, leaving the pedestrian in the middle of the street. (The pedestrian gave us a "WTF" look, since it was such a bad display of driving and he noticed that we saw it also.) The bus continued to make the right on red past the pedestrian who was in the crosswalk still, and the bus then almost collided with another car and horns were exchanged. It was a terrible display of driving so I decided to call it in. I described the situation above to the person on the other side of the line at Illinois Charter. Much to my surprise, IT WAS THE BUS DRIVER, who was presumably still driving! He was understandably defensive about the situation, and turned combative. I told him he probably shouldn't be driving in a city situation. HE THEN RETORTED "YOU SHOULDN'T BE WALKING IN A CITY SITUATION". To put this comment into context, please keep in mind that he had a red light and I had the crosswalk signal. The pedestrian he cut off in the crosswalk and left in the road had the signal as well. He also told me "I have a bus of 15 people laughing at you right now because you don't know how to cross." If that's the case, that is the most sinister collection of bus passengers ever collected. I'm imagining the Wicked Witch of the West going on a field trip with Darth Vader and the Minions from Despicable Me. If I needed to charter a bus, potentially with friends, family, or coworkers, I would want a safe, professional driver to take them to their destination. Does this company sound like they could provide that for you? Edit: It appears the bus driver responded below which I am not surprised by. There was a Google review from another reviewer that he was equally combative to, so he appears to have a history of this. Also, his version of the situation is drastically different of my version of the situation and reality. This makes me think he never saw us at all when we crossed, doesn't remember, or possibly another similar situation happened and he's confusing us with them.

We had the cross walk sign so we cautiously began crossing but noticed the driver was not paying any attention to the pedestrians who had the right of way. We were just out of his way when he started to turn right on red, nearly ran over the pedestrian crossing behind us and he nearly hit a car passing through the intersection on a green light. We were so caught off guard by this drivers complete negligence of safety for pedestrians, other cars and his passengers that we decided to call the company. My fiancé was lucky enough to be connected with the driver we had just seen endangering our lives (I guess he was now talking on his phone while driving passengers?). My fiancé explained what we had just witnessed and expressed that he was calling out of concern and said he didn't feel the driver should be driving in city situations as he was endangering so many people in the 30 seconds we witnessed. The driver went on to tell my fiancé that he had a bus of 15 people laughing at the pedestrian he almost hit, and "you shouldn't be walking in a city." Can't say that I have any reason to utilize this charter line given that I don't live in Illinois, but I think the entire east coast will be safer if this place is no longer operating.

Phone number from their website (309) 339-6305 I believe is to an answering service and not to the actual company. When searching for the address of their business - 21 Warwick Circle Morton, IL 61550 - Google Maps shows placement of business on map as approximate. Actual address or offices for the company cannot be found. On the day of our wedding, driver called to tell us they were running late. When they arrived, the bus that showed up was in way worse condition than the photo they sent us when we reserved. Air conditioning didn't work, blew only hot air - driver's reasoning was it's 90 degrees outside and the bus couldn't keep up with the heat, however driver had the mounted fan on the front of the bus on and faced towards him to try and keep himself cool, nevermind the other 14 passengers on the bus. During the ride, I was sitting at the front of the bus holding the handrail during the extremely jarring ride when noticed that my hand was sticking to post. I literally had to peel my hand off the rail and found grey/silver paint came off with it. The driver first said "That's not paint... ", then told us they just came from a Northwestern game and that was the reason there was paint on the handrail. While showing my husband the paint all over my hand, our driver had to slam on the brakes coming within a foot of hitting a pedestrian - all 14 of us on the bus can serve as witnesses to this. At the drop-off point, we all unloaded from the vehicle about a half an hour earlier than listed on our contract and the limo left the location. About 10 minutes later, we realized my husband left his cell phone on the bus and we called the driver to let him know to come back. He told us he was already too far away to come back and we would have to come and get it - note that we are still within our 2-hour contract time frame. Because it was our wedding day, we decided to just let it be, head into the reception and pick up the phone the following day. On Sunday, the following day, the driver used my husband's cell phone to call my cell phone but we weren't able to get to my phone in time before it went to missed call, but we called it back immediately 2 or 3 times in a row with no answer. The driver then texted from my husband's cell phone to my cell phone - "Will call you back in a few minutes." But then never called us back. We called and texted multiple times after that and throughout the day with no response. We called the phone number listed on their website and talked to more answering service people who took our name and number down and put our request in as "urgent". No response. Because we weren't getting any repsonses back from anyone about our phone, my husband decided to cancel his service on the phone so that it would not be able to be used. On Monday, we tried again to get our phone back before leaving for our honeymoon. We drove to the 21 Warwick Circle address in Morton to try and go into their offices but couldn't find it. We called the phone number from their website and told them we were at the address but didn't see the offices, and they were couldn't tell us where to go to find it either, just took our name and information and said someone would get back to us. We finally received a phone call from someone named Steve with a (312) area code who said he would contact the driver but that typically their drivers all have other jobs and this job is mostly their second or third jobs, but that he would contact our driver from Saturday when he gets into the office and would get back to us. No response after that. We have left numerous messages at their answering service phone number as well as Steve's phone number and still no response. It's been 11 days since they called and texted from my husband's cell phone (before he shut off the service) and still no response or conclusion. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am reviewing anywhere I can so that anyone who is looking for limousine services knows, go with someone else - DO NOT GO WITH CENTRAL ILLINOIS LIMOUSINE!

They told me to call back a week ahead of time to confirm. NO ONE would answer the phone! They ask for the money ahead of time so you are locked in. I finally got a hold of someone 2 days before my wedding and he sounded mad that we were trying to call him. We confirmed for Saturday and NO ONE showed up the day of my wedding. BEWARE!
