There was also milk, coffee, teas, and a couple of juices. All in all if you're looking for a simple place where you just need to sleep and hang out, this could be a good option for you.

Some may seem like I'm reaching to find the good and well I kind of had to. Mind you over all the rooms are nice but there are definitely some things that will keep me from coming back. Weak WiFi Free Breakfast Breakfast Area Fully Visible to Front Desk Creepy Manager / Unprofessional Manager Hygiene No Pool Room issues Highway Noise Paranormal Experiences * I'm just gonna elaborate on this one item at a time.. One of the biggest and most glaring issues for me is the fact that there is no elevator in this hotel. I'm surprised that that's not mandatory at this point in any hotel but that was my first issue. Now anyone who has ever stayed in the hotel and been the one that pays, you know there's often a security deposit associated in case anything is broken damaged or taken. Until staying at this hotel the largest security deposit I'd ever heard of was $40. I think $100 is absolutely ridiculous. So if after this review you still want to stay here be mindful of that. The other thing I've never understood no matter what hotel it occurs at is only having an ice machine on one floor. You run water through the entire building. Put an ice machine on every level especially if you don't have an elevator. Which directly leads into my next complaint you want to keep that with your ice buckets fine, but give them a lid otherwise it's just pointless unless you're thinking everyone's going to use all the ice at once. 90% of the time we're not. Their Wi-Fi is weak at best. For a casual cell phone user like myself it's not a huge issue however if you're trying to do any type of business it won't work for you. Their free "Breakfast " . Yes I listed this under Pros as well because I understand that they don't have to offer it. But if you're going to don't be cheap about it. Even extraordinarily basic motels offer at least one hot option. You hard boil eggs, it wouldn't be difficult to scramble them up, put them in a warming tray ... buy bread.. plug in a toaster and offer eggs and toast. As you'll see from my pictures there was more than enough room to do so. And if cereal is going to be your main offering , offer more than one type of milk. Especially given today's very prevalent diet restrictions. I also wasn't a fan of the fact that the front desk attendant can fully see the entire breakfast area I understand that security is important but that's what you have cameras for and I thought it was creepy with the guy watching me eat. Speaking of a sudden manager or front desk attendant, or whatever his title was let's talk about workplace hygiene. Because when he came past me to check the breakfast area, let's put it nicely and say he did not smell clean. Also I don't believe a t-shirt is appropriate work attire. Unless it's a polo offered by the company. The lack of pool was not a huge issue for me but if you're traveling with kids it might be. Just another thing I wanted to make note of. Now getting to the actual room itself, as I stated the rooms themselves are fairly nice and definitely spacious. However, being on the second floor of this hotel made me extremely uneasy. Because as you make your way to the bed and then make your way back from the bed there is a very noticeable slant in the floor which to me speaks of foundational issues. There are lots of cracks in the ceiling as you'll see in two of my pictures. There is a slant in the bathroom floor as well . There was an our room anyway . The hotel is also directly off the highway which makes for a less than peaceful nights sleep. Tying into that is my final con. Shake your head and laugh if you will but both my boyfriend and I had paranormal experiences including hearing voices and detecting movements and sounds that were not coming from either of us. In our rush to leave I forgot to take a picture but also one of the pillars in the lobby has a significant gap between the pillar itself and the ceiling. I'm sorry this is long but you guys know how I feel about being entirely honest so I wanted you to know my full feelings and experience at this location. I remember coming out here ones or twice and having the time of my life. I blame these field trips for fostering my love for nature and being outside. So, it was only fitting that I revisit Wildlife Nostalgic Park... I mean Wildlife Prairie Park. WPP for short, this place is a fantastic destination for anyone living in Central Illinois or really anywhere in Illinois. During this fall visit, it was my girlfriend and my friend. We casually strolled the main parts while sipping some delicious coffee. The park had changed so much from when I was a kid. There were a few things I remember, but they have since expanded or updated mostly everything. They have a pretty cool snake area that is slightly modeled like a... snake. We played around on some trains and took some goofy photos with those "face cut out" displays. The bulk of the park are the nature preserves with wild floral and fauna. You could spend all day slowly walking through the park, seeing wild cows, wolves, deer, humans, birds, and various other interesting animals. Not only can you visit and see nature, they also have cabins/camping areas to rent out. I haven't personally done this as my group of friends aren't big into camping, but I would love to check it out some day. The prices seem really fair for what you get. Last but not least, they hold events throughout the year. Check out their website for details but I've been to their Ren Faire (Olde English Festival) and it was a blast. They also have a wildly popular Wildlife Scary Park each year for October/Halloween. One of my friends has a membership for WPP and said she has tickets to ride the train. Should this rain ever subside, I think it's time to take her up on her offer to go visit! We only have one Earth. Please treat it with respect. Don't litter. Recycle. Leave nature places cleaner than when you arrived. Future generations will appreciate it.

Moved in November 2020…read more I moved in due to being relocated for work. I rented a ground level single bedroom, single bath apartment. I am not going to leave a subjective review of this apartment complex, but just an objective one. Let's call it "Things to consider". The staff are friendly and easy to get ahold of. They make you fell like a family member until you tell them you are moving out. Then the contact almost seems transactional at best. It is never mean or hateful, just the kindness stops. The maintenance staff are quick to make repairs and conduct preventative maintenance such as replacing heat and air filters. I needed my stove repaired and garbage disposal repaired. They were completed very quickly without any cost. I had a small leak with my toilet as it kept running. I was told if they have to call a plumber, the cost would be mine to pay. I never mentioned it again and just let the toilet run. As far as the rent itself goes, I absorbed a $100 monthly increase to my rent every time my lease was renewed. I was there 4 years and signed 4 leases. My rent increased $400 monthly from the time I moved in, until my last full rent payment in December of 2024. My rent went from $800 monthly to $1,200 before any additional fees for water, covered parking, and pets. The pet policy allows for 3 cats or dogs. Covered parking will cost $40 per space. Keep in mind if you opt to get a covered parking space, it is added to your lease and cannot be removed unless you find another tenant to take it from you. I never had an issue with anyone parking in my spot while I was gone. The water bill is included in the rent. The water used for the buildings washer is paid for by the tenants each month regardless if you use it or not. In the time I lived there, the washing machine and dryer were broken several times. A few times lasted as long as 7 weeks. They would just tell you to use another buildings washer and dryer or go to a laundry mat at your expense. Moving in is an easy process, being able to pay the rent is easy. It is paid online if you like. You can also mail in a check without any processing charges that range from $4 to 4% if you use a credit card. The apartment was clean up on moving in and an itemized checklist was prepared noting conditions of items at the time of taking occupancy. The lake makes for great views and the wildlife associated with it are great. The complex will have geese, ducks, squirrels, and rabbits. There are also several bird species in the area as other tenants kept bird feeders around. I never seen a skunk, opossum, or any other destructive animal near my apartment. The lake also has fish, which will have people who fish. My ground level apartment during the nice months would often have people standing behind my back porch for hours fishing. This forced me to keep my blinds closed most of the time. On more than one occasion there were family gatherings next to my apartment in the grass to include several people, large blankets, lawn chairs, fishing, and childrens games. Lot's of people walking behind my apartment during the nice months. When I moved out, I cleaned the apartment the best I was willing to do. The checklist was brought up and it was marked that I cleaned nothing. The cleaning bill was $1,200 is the apartment staff had to clean it. I was offered a third party recommended to me by the office. This cost was $600. 4 broken blinds were a cost of $150. These are the tall, thin plastic ones that cover the sliding glass door. There is also a $150 carpet cleaning fee whether it is satisfactory or not. So, I have tried to give all the pro and cons of this apartment complex. Overall it served it's purpose for me and I moved on. Please do your research, call around, and make your own choice of where to live. Thank you for reading this.
