My wife and I did the tour on a Sunday,…read morewhich meant a lot fewer Paramount employees at the studio, but also I believe we were less likely to be excluded from parts of the studio because of events, shoots, etc. As it were, we weren't excluded from anywhere and our tour guide was terrific. He didn't rush us as we looked at at the New York backlot (Brooklyn, Lower East Side, etc), soundstages, the set of a popular TV show (I won't say which one!), the bathroom where a lot of fights inside of bathrooms are shot, and the outside of the sound stages where Citizen Kane was shot, Rear Window (and scenes from Vertigo) were shot, scenes from the Godfather were shot and many other great and famous films. I also saw where William Holden's character fell in love with a fellow screenwriter in the movie Sunset Boulevard. We also saw some amazing props from the Transformers, Terminator, and Star Trek movies. For fans of The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, we saw where the Red Sea parting scene was shot. My wife and I also got to hold a real Oscar for the 1953 movie War of the Worlds. And I sat on the Forrest Gump bench. Only seven people maximum can go on any one tour -- on a small cart --- so the feeling is personal (vs. being on a bus). My wife and I also went on the Warner Bros and Universal Studios tours. We thought this was the best studio tour. The tour itself was a little over 2 hours. (For parking, we found free parking on a side street across from the studio. Otherwise, we would have paid $20 to park in the studio's lot.)

We were taken to see inside an empty stage as well as inside a stage where props were being built. Our guide showed us movie clips indicating places where the scene or scenes were shot. My favorite was the big blue parking lot where the scene of the famous water separating in The Ten Commandments. The movie was done in the 50's and CGI was still a far fetched idea. Our tour guide showed a lot of enthusiasm and also quite entertaining. The tour lasted about two and a half hours which was well worth it. At the beginning before the tour, we were given ample time to watch segments of past movies which was enjoyable.

We got to see the sets from so many different shows that I love, like Gilmore Girls, Friends, Abbott Elementary, and even movies. Our tour guide Philippe was exceptional. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and insightful throughout the tour. He had so much joy and enthusiasm for the studio, and he made the experience amazing for me and my family. The museums had some really cool stuff like the Batman cars, the Friends set, and Sinners costumes. The only letdown was the very limited Harry Potter section, but overall it was a great experience. I see myself coming back again; I feel like there's still more to see.

A full Two hour guided tour riding around the back lot on a 15 passenger electric cart. Super knowledgeable driver / tour guide (Zack) talks you through the various backlot sets and sound stages with video presentations on the monitors mounted in the cart. There are several stops where you can get off to experience and hear details about shows and movies that used these specific sets. Very interesting seeing the building facades and landscaped grounds and the history of the studio. Our tour included a snack / continental breakfast and a lunch at the Friends Central Perk cafe restaurant. Both offered a decent selection of food and drink items. In the morning they served juices, coffee, tea, water, chips, cookies, danish to munch on before the tour started. Caveat is you only have 15 minutes to relax and enjoy before leaving for the tour. Lunch break happened at the end of our two hour guided tour. The tour package lunch included a hot or cold entree, side dish and drink. We were surprised at the selection and quality of the food. Various hot and cold sandwiches, salads, chips and a full selection of hot or cold, large or small coffee drinks. Even some blended coffee drinks. We ordered the hot Cuban sandwich, Cobb salad and a large iced coffee latte drink. The Cuban was hot but a little bit soggy but still tasty. Cobb salad super fresh and healthy. Coffee drink was solid with creamy topping. After lunch you begin the self guided portion of the tour which is inside stage 48? Where the restaurant was located. Film technology and costumes on display with various interactive display to participate. Harry Potter, Batman, Superman and other blockbuster movies artwork, costumes and videos on display. So much to discover. Easily spent 2 hours in there. Surprisingly they told us we also had entry into the Superman Experience. We did not know this was part of the tour. It is not mentioned in the marketing online. Unfortunately we ran out of time and had to skip this. Too bad as I think it is super popular. Regardless the tour was unexpectedly very entertaining and enjoyable. Weather was great not too hot. Highly recommended for folks looking for a break from the theme parks. Totally different in a good way from Universal Studio tour.

I knew I had to book the bus at least 6 months in advance to make sure I got a great price and that the bus was available. The food was delicious and plentiful, and we even met some really nice new friends along the way. The two stars go to Big Mike holding down this bizness. The cons: The night before Purchased dual package tour: La Hood Life and Hollywood tour for $125 a person. A Text message sent at 2am said to meet up at 930am, which we didn't see until parking in the garage at 930am. We get there at 937am to check in, our tour gets verified with the owner (bald slick brother in a all white T parked a glossy badass Benz). At 10am the rest of our tour group arrives. They wait on the opposite end of us because our tours are separate. At 1010am we get verified the 3rd time that we have both tours booked, then offered a seat in the open air tour truck. At 1035 we get verified again & told to get off the open air tour truck and get a seat on the white van with everyone else, that our Hollywood tour would be after we get back from the Hood tour, Mind you the tour I booked was described as 3.5 hrs, quick & to the point. Instead We end up on a nearly 4 hours long tour of the hood. We got back to the pickup location at 230pm. 5 hrs in total wasted mostly by waiting around, watching a verbal argument btwn Mooney, the owner & Big Mike but he seemed to stay out of it. The complaining and arguing and cussing was authentic, cuz Mooney's frustration was real & felt. Yet I think his hissy fit led to all the chaos & waiting around we had to do. We're out $80 because that how much more we paid than everyone else on our tour. I left feeling "Debow-ed" with my tourist chain getting yanked off! Not to mention, the Van sound system went out by blasting uncontrollable screeching noise every time the Van was started back up. This screeching assault to our hearing happened about 9 times. Painful!!! Plus we were stuck in the heat with no AC. Haha it was so ridiculously awful, that looking back I can only laugh. Luckily we broke down close to a small store & bought cold drinks & snacks while the wiring was figured out to the sound system. The rest of the tour the microphone didn't work so the people in the back couldn't hear Big Mike's awesome story telling, and their nonstop complaining behind me was distracting AF. Lastly what we were overcharged $80, should be given to Big Mike and lil sum for Mooney cuz Mooney was mad as hell and I could tell by his high level cussing he can tell a story too.
