He took us on an u conventional route, which was nice. He was very informative and funny. I'm glad we spent the morning together and got back at a reasonable hour, in time for a late lunch. Do NOT make the mistake that I made. I purchased the tickets online earlier on the day of our tour. Our tour time was approaching and I couldn't find the bus. I wanted to call but there was no phone number. For whatever reason, I thought the bus would be near Grauman's. It was not. It was across the street, down the block from the Hollywood Roosevelt, directly across from CVS. Our tour guide was great. I'll come back and fill in his name if/when I find his business card (Found it! Of course, it was in the bag I carried that day. Anywho, gentleman's name is Gavin! He did double duty. Super disorganized Groupon redemption process. YOU have to email or call them at one of their multiple emails and phone numbers (working and non-working) to schedule your reservation. They have a limit on how many Groupons they accept on a weekly basis and this is stated nowhere in the Groupon terms and conditions. They are rude because they must make less on these sales but that is not my fault or problem. Also, there is zero communication between the people who answer the phones and the many emails you must send in order to book with them. Called earlier today and the lady was very confrontational and not helpful in finding a solution to the problem of their creation. There are many other tours to choose from. Choose wisely! read more

You'll drive past many historic structures, and past the homes of many stars (though you'll be going too fast to get a good look or photo). And you'll go up in the hills along Mulholland Drive. About halfway through the tour, at the Beverly Hills sign, you get out for a break and use the restroom. Unfortunately, you never get a good view of the Hollywood sign. Our driver was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and gave anecdotes about every site we passed. There a screen-like sheet covering the top of the van for shade, but you should use sunscreen as you will be in the sun for two hours. read more

Joel was a fantastic tour guide! We really lucked out with our tour guide. The first great thing about this tour was that it started in Santa Monica literally right outside of our hotel. We stayed at the Shore Hotel right across from the Santa Monica Pier and wanted to do the celebrity/hollywood tour and figured we would have to Uber all the way to Hollywood to catch the tour bus. NOPE! This company has a tour that starts right from Santa Monica! It was so convenient. Throughout the whole tour, Joel gave us tons of fun facts about the neighborhoods we drove through and the houses of the celebrities we drove by, He was super kind and took pictures of our group for us too. I thought I would really hate this. I planned on hating this. I have friends from out of town and they really wanted to go on this bus tour. I caved and said fine. It was great. I loved it. Yes, I have seen all they showed us, but it was relaxing, comfortable and cool. The information given by a guy with a microphone was very interesting and some of it I did not know. If you go during the summer it is best to make a reservation, but in non tourist months you can get right on. There are several of them and you may have to wait for a departure time, but it won't be long. Now you are going to have to find a place to park and pay for that. The operators are very nice and funny. Go with friends. My friends just loved it and thought they had seen enough of Hollywood while on the tour. read more

Ryan is a very entertaining tour guide and well informed! He is genuinely funny and full of entertainment trivia. His DJT and Schwarzenegger imitation are the best! The main reason I wanted to take this tour is, because I'm always the driver and rarely get to take in the sights. I was born and raised in LA and regularly drive these same streets and hills and past these homes but didn't know most of what he shared. We did this tour last week and it was so much fun. We had Chad as our tour guide and man was he knowledgeable about the area! He would ask about people that we were interested in and if he didn't know, when we stopped he'd do some research on them to find more information on them in that area. We did Friday night, it was freezing. They accommodated us last min. The driver was polite and knowledgeable and funny. The guy I spoke to for reservations was also nice. The tour was good but I wouldn't do a night one because, you can hardly see anything. Hollywood walk, Hollywood hills, Beverly hills, rodeo drive, amongst other neighborhoods. We saw Riris' house, where the late Michael passed, Justin Bieber and others. Couldn't really see the Hollywood sign and couldn't get off to take a pic in front of the Beverly Hills sign. READ those street signs since they ticket very often. Best to sit towards the front of bus to have best view. Bus is open air so dress appropriately. Chellsee does explain and tell you so much info on who lives where and the history of certain landmarks. My fav was seeing Taylor Swifts house in Beverly Hills. Yours does go from Hollywood, fairfax, Hollywood hills, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Chellsee is very interactive and happy which I appreciate. Yes I would take my tourist friends on this tour. If you have a short amount of time and want to make the most of it, Hollywood Bus Tours is the perfect choice. We only had half a day to spend in LA and we did this. To start off, the website tells you the closest and best parking. It was only $8.50 for 7 hours with a attendent on duty all the time and only 2 min walk from the tour office. We had reservations for the 5.5 hour Taste of LA tour. We got Chad as our driver. I must say that we were super lucky to have him as our driver. Chad is EXTREMELY knowlegable about the area and he was true to his word. He made our ears bleed with an overload of information about LA. The whole experience was so wonderful that we didn't even realize when 5.5 hours were done and we were at the end of the tour. After the tour he even gave us directions to the original Charlie Chaplin theatre which was a request from my kid. Chad was so friendly that even my kid who is normally shy to talk to new people, was comfortable asking him all sort of questions, which he answered with full enthusiasm. read more

The hills is the most peaceful area of central LA, once you get to the top of the hill, you hear nothing but peace, there is no peace in those Hollywood streets, I was really happy our tour guide took us the way he did, now I know where to go. The tour guide was the entertainment specifically because he was slick with it, he knew allllll the jokes, all the celebs names, locations, and was cracking spontaneous jokes about random people helping us to laugh the entire 2 hour ride. It was so fun. We all had a good time! It's a must you take a tour bus when traveling or in any town! It's so fun if you have a lit bus driver. I'm such a sucker for these kind of tours. Unfortunately, we didn't see any celebrities but the tour itself was fun and a good walk to see Hollywood. My friend and I sat in the back row of the bus and most of the time, we couldn't hear anything the driver was saying. I kept looking at my friend and saying "what did he say??". When we could hear him, he was funny and knowledgeable! I wish there had been a better way to listen. The group we were with wasn't very engaging with him and a lot of time, he would ask a question and no one would answer him (sometimes probably because they couldn't hear but also most of the time, they just didn't care to). I had family coming in from out of town and I wanted to do something I had never done, not even as an Angelenan. We ended up being rerouted to their sister company due to having had lack of drivers that morning. We were picked up in a van that was not as nice and then put in another van that was not as nice as the vans pictured. Dear Chris, I regret to say that our experience with the ,Hollywood bus tour' sightseeing company was extremely disappointing. Despite having our seats booked for a 5pm departure, the bus never arrived. After waiting for half an hour, we approached the staff at the office on the Walk of Fame to request a refund. To our dismay, the staff became extremely rude and intimidating. This behavior was particularly distressing as it escalated to the point where one staff member became confrontational with one of the children in our group, leaving him scared and upset. I would request that the two ladies at the desk should be offered a communication skills training and respect and civility course. We would use other social media to offer constructive feedback for your company as it's important for your company to maintain the same standards as expected from this company. read more
