A well-executed guilty pleasure for the visiting family Sometimes, a tourist trap is a necessity, and for out-of-towners craving a taste of the glitz, a Hollywood bus tour is inevitable, from GEORGE. The key is managing expectations, and this one, surprisingly, over-delivered. The open-air bus provided an unobstructed view, and the guide being genuinely funny and knowledgeable, offered fun & historical anecdotes rather than just parroting bland, pre-recorded lines. Yes, you pay a premium for the convenience, and no, you won't actually see a celebrity. But for a breezy, couple-of-hours ride past the famous homes and iconic sign--without battling Hollywood parking--it was a perfectly acceptable diversion.

Did not feel it was worth the cost. Enjoyed the farmers market and Griffith Park. Felt rushed at the pier. Driver was telling us what we were passing but not the best job.

Megan was so fabulous and knowledgeable I highly recommend suggest doing the two hour celebrity home tour!

Joel was a fantastic tour guide! We really lucked out with our tour guide. The first great thing about this tour was that it started in Santa Monica literally right outside of our hotel. We stayed at the Shore Hotel right across from the Santa Monica Pier and wanted to do the celebrity/hollywood tour and figured we would have to Uber all the way to Hollywood to catch the tour bus. NOPE! This company has a tour that starts right from Santa Monica! It was so convenient. Throughout the whole tour, Joel gave us tons of fun facts about the neighborhoods we drove through and the houses of the celebrities we drove by, He was super kind and took pictures of our group for us too. Overall, a fantastic tour that checked a major item off of our bucket list. Could not recommend Hollywood Bus Tours enough.

This was my 5th time doing this same tour with Hollywood Bus Tours and I loved it once again! Colin was a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining. We got to cover so much of the city. Such a great way to show friends and family around when they visit me here in LA!

Ryan is a very entertaining tour guide and well informed! He is genuinely funny and full of entertainment trivia. His DJT and Schwarzenegger imitation are the best! The main reason I wanted to take this tour is, because I'm always the driver and rarely get to take in the sights. I was born and raised in LA and regularly drive these same streets and hills and past these homes but didn't know most of what he shared. Unfortunately it was windy and cold this day but that's not his fault, he turned on the heat for us which helped our feet at least.

We had the best time on the half day LA tour followed by the celeb homes tour. Bus was newer, nice & clean. Would definitely recommend!

We got to see the sets from so many different shows that I love, like Gilmore Girls, Friends, Abbott Elementary, and even movies. Our tour guide Philippe was exceptional. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and insightful throughout the tour. He had so much joy and enthusiasm for the studio, and he made the experience amazing for me and my family. The museums had some really cool stuff like the Batman cars, the Friends set, and Sinners costumes. The only letdown was the very limited Harry Potter section, but overall it was a great experience. I see myself coming back again; I feel like there's still more to see.

A full Two hour guided tour riding around the back lot on a 15 passenger electric cart. Super knowledgeable driver / tour guide (Zack) talks you through the various backlot sets and sound stages with video presentations on the monitors mounted in the cart. There are several stops where you can get off to experience and hear details about shows and movies that used these specific sets. Very interesting seeing the building facades and landscaped grounds and the history of the studio. Our tour included a snack / continental breakfast and a lunch at the Friends Central Perk cafe restaurant. Both offered a decent selection of food and drink items. In the morning they served juices, coffee, tea, water, chips, cookies, danish to munch on before the tour started. Caveat is you only have 15 minutes to relax and enjoy before leaving for the tour. Lunch break happened at the end of our two hour guided tour. The tour package lunch included a hot or cold entree, side dish and drink. We were surprised at the selection and quality of the food. Various hot and cold sandwiches, salads, chips and a full selection of hot or cold, large or small coffee drinks. Even some blended coffee drinks. We ordered the hot Cuban sandwich, Cobb salad and a large iced coffee latte drink. The Cuban was hot but a little bit soggy but still tasty. Cobb salad super fresh and healthy. Coffee drink was solid with creamy topping. After lunch you begin the self guided portion of the tour which is inside stage 48? Where the restaurant was located. Film technology and costumes on display with various interactive display to participate. Harry Potter, Batman, Superman and other blockbuster movies artwork, costumes and videos on display. So much to discover. Easily spent 2 hours in there. Surprisingly they told us we also had entry into the Superman Experience. We did not know this was part of the tour. It is not mentioned in the marketing online. Unfortunately we ran out of time and had to skip this. Too bad as I think it is super popular. Regardless the tour was unexpectedly very entertaining and enjoyable. Weather was great not too hot. Highly recommended for folks looking for a break from the theme parks. Totally different in a good way from Universal Studio tour.

He didn't rush us as we looked at at the New York backlot (Brooklyn, Lower East Side, etc), soundstages, the set of a popular TV show (I won't say which one!), the bathroom where a lot of fights inside of bathrooms are shot, and the outside of the sound stages where Citizen Kane was shot, Rear Window (and scenes from Vertigo) were shot, scenes from the Godfather were shot and many other great and famous films. I also saw where William Holden's character fell in love with a fellow screenwriter in the movie Sunset Boulevard. We also saw some amazing props from the Transformers, Terminator, and Star Trek movies. For fans of The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, we saw where the Red Sea parting scene was shot. My wife and I also got to hold a real Oscar for the 1953 movie War of the Worlds. And I sat on the Forrest Gump bench. Only seven people maximum can go on any one tour -- on a small cart --- so the feeling is personal (vs. being on a bus). My wife and I also went on the Warner Bros and Universal Studios tours. We thought this was the best studio tour. The tour itself was a little over 2 hours. (For parking, we found free parking on a side street across from the studio. My mom wanted to travel through South America, down to Argentina and then hop on a cruise to Antarctica. I've always seen deals for cruises to Antarctica from Argentina. So I had her call Albert for some advice on this type of journey. To my surprise, my mom had a terrible phone conversation with Albert. Not only was Albert rude to her, he criticized her for supposedly confusing him with her questions. The most shocking part was when he questioned why she would travel to Antarctica and that it was super hot! Um, really? I have no idea why he would think Antarctica is hot. Last I checked, it's -24 degrees Fahrenheit down there! And this was just the tip of the iceberg (pun intended). He then proceeded to tell her that he was really busy and that she was wasting his time. Told her to just go to his office instead. I understand if she's not a customer and just a random caller with questions. However, she was a referral from a customer. Even if she was just a random caller, why be rude to the person? The whole "Antarctica is super hot" comment was just perplexing. A travel agent made this comment...a travel agent. And to make her feel stupid for asking about cruises to Antarctica was unnecessary considering these cruises DO exist. The poor treatment of a referral from a regular customer was very disappointing. Needless to say, I'll be searching for a new travel agency.
