I spoke with Zaxby and we…read moreworked out a plan and the cart was delivered to my rental unit in Beaufort in less than 11/2 hours. The cart came clean and very well taken care of. It has to be plugged in at night so they brought the battery charger and even stopped and bought a new extension cord. The battery wasn't fully charged but charged enough to get 4 of us around until we finished for the day. I highly recommend renting your cart from Sea Island. I rented one in the past from a place downtown Beaufort a few years ago and it was junk. I had the opposite with this company. Give Zaxby a call and if possible I promise he will take very good care of you. Doing business with Sea Island was flawless!!

They allowed our 90lb dog which was very kind in the close quarters of a speedboat! There is a whole procedure of parking away from the terminal (since it is so crowded nearby) and boarding at the terminal dock. They were mostly on time and had a helpful friendly attitude. My child fell asleep on the ride so it was smooth and calming enough! My only negative was we'd have appreciated more departure options and flexibility to change times if needed (provided there is room). We had trouble finding a lot of info on things to do with kids on Daufuskie (we learned there is not a lot for them; it is more for Boomers to drink) so we would've valued being able to return sooner, but it is what it is. Just the only drawback we had with service options. But we definitely recommend to others.

But the fact they bid $375K versus the previous experienced operators ' $ 1M shows how Beaufort County picked the lowest bid versus the most qualified operator. My recommendation for anyone wanting to get to Daufuskie is use Island Head or other operators.

Unfortunately we only had 15 minutes to shop as the store closed at 2 pm not 3pm as stated on their Yelp page. Therefore I shot an update to Yelp quickly to update. Once inside the salesperson was extremely knowledgeable about the golf carts. Truthfully most of the information went over my head when it came to the battery life. I just look for seats that will be comfortable. There was one in a Teal green that was redone with beautiful quilted seats. I am assuming leather but maybe not to take all that direct sunlight without fading. Beautiful selections but price's definitely reflect it. $$$$$

Worst company of any kind we have every had to deal with. We rented a beautiful home for a week…read morelast summer. We had rented it once before when it was rented directly by the owner. But he sold it, and the new owner as of summer '22 worked only through FrippVacation and refused all contact. We are a 3-generation family of 16 including my wife in her 80s. The home has an elevator which she needs. Shortly before our arrival we were informed that the elevator was out of service, and it was not repaired. Also not working was the air conditioning system. This was South Carolina in the summer. It worked enough to cool rooms to 85. The door to one bedroom was all glass (in a wood frame); privacy was provided by a shade on the inside of the door, but the shade was missing, denying any privacy to the couple using that bedroom. Midway through our week, a very loud motor kicked in next to the master bedroom and roared nonstop for the remaining days, interfering with sleep. (I learned later it was connected to jacuzzi tub.) And there were other issues. I made repeated efforts to reach Bob Smoak of FrippVacations. At first, he promised to come out and fix things, but he didn't show, and after that he refused to respond to text and phone messages. Fripp Island is beautiful but FrippVacations is a company to avoid at all costs.

The island is beautiful, the fact that it is a preserve is so great. Deer everywhere. Alligators too. Beautiful beaches, and tons of choices in where to hang your hat while you are there. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars, is they have no recycling program that we could find. With a meeting like we had, it was a shame to see all of those recyclables end up in a landfill.
