It had a big bed, a sitting room with a desk, and standard bathroom, and a lot of closet space. The windows were big, although mostly viewed the brick residence next door. The room itself is very warm, even with the heat off. However, there an air conditioner in the room that does the trick to cool it off. It's a little odd to have to run the AC when it's 25°F out, but I think the building just runs warm. And thoughtful by the owners. The Continental breakfast is quite standard. But it works. There is a sun room for all guests to share. I was in between 4 and 5 stars here, but 5 it is! It's convenient to downtown Montpelier; everything is within walking distance. It's 15 minutes from Waterbury, 25 minutes to downtown Stowe, and 30 minutes to Stowe Mountain / Mount Mansfield. I will be staying here again.

All these hotels have a fun vibe. We stayed in the main lodge. The rooms in the main lodge are very simple, the first floor of the lodge is the communal living room. The area is comfortable and decorated nicely, and has board games, shuffleboard, a few fireplaces and hot water for tea. Breakfast in the morning is included. They had fruit, pastries and a protein of sorts, coffee and hot chocolate. In the evening we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar, which has live music some nights 7:00-9:00. There is a hot tub you can reserve for 30 minute increments. We opted to pass due to the weather and our short visit in the area. In the summer, there is a pool, which looks like a lovely set up. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We did visit during peak leaf peaking season, so it was pricey for the room type, but that's what you can expect anywhere in Stowe in October.

It worked for us. 3) Breakfast is pretty similar from day to day. Little egg cups (crustless quiche) and an amazing yogurt that you can customize however you wish. Fresh bagels and breads. Coffee setup is well organized and works well. 4) The people are wonderful. As good as it gets. 5) Great rooms. Ours had a very comfortable bed and pillows, a small sitting area where we had a bottle of wine with friends very comfortably and a large bathroom with a great shower and separate tub. 6) No TVs but excellent Wi-Fi. Who has time to watch tv when you're travelling? Not us. I do need to stay connected to work, though, and the Wi-Fi had a reliable connection and decent speed for me. 7) The common areas are very comfortable and as beautiful as you could ever want. So many spaces to settle into without another guest on top of you. 8) Maybe 10 minutes to the downtown area. Not walkable but close enough that you don't really have to plan the trip. Maybe my favorite room I've ever stepped into in the entire universe. There are multiple fireplaces throughout the first floor. There is a small fridge for guest-use in the bar area, as well as an ice freezer. Snacks in a snack cabinet up for grabs. Breakfast was incredible. A full spread of fruits, yogurt, housemade bread (& gluten-free bread by request), flourless quiche bites, & more. Delicious, fresh-brewed coffee & all sorts of milks to choose from. On day two, they did breakfast to-order rather than a buffet. I assume to reduce food waste. I filled out a card with my desired breakfast order & what time I'd like to eat. It appeared on a tray in the dining room exactly when I requested. This hotel is SO worth the little splurge. I'm already daydreaming about planning a trip back to Burlington to stay here again. My room did have a cat urine smell. I was room 235. It is a pet friendly hotel. I wasn't sure if it was cat urine or if it was Some sort of moisture issue. But I had with me a very small air freshener that was oil based. I opened the window and I sprayed the carpet. By the time we were fully in the room for the night I can say the smell was 90 percent gone and only returned once or twice. My spray did work. They need to really steam Clean that rooms carpets. I also had two broken tiles on the bathroom floor and my wall paper was peeling. I really do believe that a fresh coat of paint in rooms, hallways, and a good scrub of carpets is just what this place needs. I do understand this was the end of their busy season, so I will be interested to see if they do any of this before I return next year. This place also has a restaurant Connected to the hotel that serves alcohol. I have to admit that's really nice that I didn't have to leave to get food if I didn't want to. I did not have the chance to order from there but the hotel Smelled amazing and I wanted to, but, had reservations made I advance at other places. They sell postcards at the front desk f3 for $1 that I did purchase. The vending machine had everything in it you can think of. Ramen noodles, Salzburg steak dinner, soda, candy, chips. They have an area where you can leave extra food or anything extra from your trip that you don't want to take home. I had been fighting a cold and someone left zinc vitamins that I did indeed take and I have to say they helped me a lot so thank you to whomever left them. I left all my granola bars and k cups in in exchange and also made a cash donation to the box by the coffee. I did not get to try the hot tub or the indoor pool but I really wanted to. Cons: very loud room as they allow the patrons for the restaurant to use the main entrance so people line up outside your door early and talk very loud. They have two other restaurant entrances and the owners really should make the patrons use that entrance vs the main entrance. So plan on it being loud from 0730 AM to after 1200pm. Yelp has a 20% discount if you check in on the app for 2 nights or more. The coupon is outdated and the owners never responded to my inquiry. The coupon should be taken down as I didn't see how it could be redeemed anyway since you must pay in full 14 days prior to your stay and the hotel is self check in. I grew up in Bristol and decided that it was about time to return to my "roots" and see what rural Vermont has to offer. After a quick look, I realized that there were really no motels in there area but apparently in the last few years a few B&Bs have sprung up. As we were traveling with a 4 year old, I wasn't sure if it work out or not, but Sue was more than accommodating and the stars aligned in our favor. I'm sure that since I am from the area, I am too easily charmed by the bucolic splendor, but The Dreamhouse County Inn really captures the mood of country living. We enjoyed fireflies in the twilight, the dark and quiet of a country evening, and a delicious pancake breakfast with fresh raspberries in the pancakes. After breakfast, George took us on a brief walk around the property where we had the chance to visit the raspberry patch and also pick a few fresh blueberries as well. I would strongly recommend a stay at this charming B&B to anyone who wants to spend some quality time away from the hectic city life or is looking for a friendly place to stay while on the road.
