I was a little nervous because I had never been there before, and wanted something pretty drastic--a light ash blonde balayage which is reaaally hard to get on dark Asian hair. Plus, my hair had been previously dyed and was a pretty orangey color to start with. So they would have to color-correct that as well. Marwa was super patient with me and answered all my questions. The shop normally closes at 7 pm, but she stayed till around 9:30 pm (!!) to make sure everything looked PERFECT before I went home. She wanted to make sure my hair was lightened enough first, then brushed through it again with darker dye to make sure the transition looked super natural. And she threw in a quick trim in for free! So sweet of her! I felt bad I kept her so late but she really did a great job. My hair came out beautifully and was the perfect pale ashy color that I was looking for. Nobody has ever been able to get my dark, thick hair this light before! Plus all the orange was GONE. It was a miracle! For the cherry on top, when Gabe was giving me instructions on maintenance etc, I said that I'd never heard of a wet brush before. With that, he pulled out a new one from a box, and gave it to me for free! I've never had such great service at a salon before. And the results were beautiful! I told him it was for a special event . So if you didn't know what you were doing say it up front. It ended up coming out awful and wiggy looking. They put the entire stocking cap with the thick ends on my head did not even cut the ends or try to put make up around the corners to blend so the edges show the cap. Then he didn't even pick the part nor try and lay baby hair around the edges.He also told me my hair didn't hold curls which was his excuse to not put any effort to style it. I was then over charged for this mess as I had to pay like $200 for what ever he attempted in my hair and a separate extra $50 for braids as he has someone else in the shop do them smh. I had to go to another salon to try and fix the mess as I told you I had a special event to attend. She saw the mess he did and was like what the heck is that mess. She was able to adjust the front, fix the edges, pick the part and she did curls which held perfectly. As other reviews mentioned there was an alcohol stench but not sure if it's from being hungover or maybe the cologne he uses smell that way. I'd hate to say there is a alcohol issue here. The result is patchy, unevenly lifted hair with noticeable yellow/orange tones, which is unacceptable for a professional salon. ​Price Gouging: I was charged an excessive price for a service that resulted in both a physical injury and a severely unsatisfactory hair color job. ​The combination of an immediate injury from negligence, extremely poor technical skill, and excessive pricing makes this one of the worst and most concerning salon experiences I have ever had.
