They should have been up front with me about the discounts, reductions and allowances that are negotiated with the insurance companies and passed onto the insurance company. Had I known that, I would have took my business elsewhere. For 15 years I have had the same insurance and purchased several sets of hearing aids, had surgeries, babies, colonoscopies.... For every single one of them, I always only had to pay my out of pocket annual max of $2850. There were some discounts and reductions on some of those EOBs, but they were passed on to me, not the insurance company! When I questioned them about this, their reply was "you signed the contract". Nowhere in that contract does it mention discounts and reductions. It only says I would be responsible for balance of what insurance does not pay. They fail to mention the negotiated contract they signed with the insurance company. They knew I would have to pay more than my out of pocket maximum, but only told me "you never know what you will get so we collect the money up front." They knew they would be passing all discounts and reductions on to the insurance company. After I saw my EOB, I shopped around and found same hearing aids for $5500! I am returned my hearing aids and will be out $350 for rerun fee, but will still save $950. Lesson learned. Shop around! There are other hearing aid providers that do not operate this way. Keep looking and make sure you ask about discounts, reductions, and allowances.

Also the patient portal had my phone number incorrect so I could not log into it. Labcorp text me over the weekend with test results but the office says that don't have the results!!! Over the weekend, I read the results and I have staph and MERSA in my nose! This is Tuesday and I should have been on an antibiotic treatment two days ago but still waiting to hear from the medical staff. Hold time today was only about 9 minutes. They make up a lot of excuses but never bother to say that they are sorry about the inconvenience. Prior to this frustrating experience, I had to see the Dr. in Southlake not my usual Flower Mound location. No one shared that there are two locations in Southlake so on my way to Southlake, I called and was put on hold for an extended period or time. I finally just picked one of the two locations and happened to get the right one but was about 10 minutes late because I was just driving around and holding on the phone! After arriving at the office, there were other frustrated patients there. So, if you choose this clinic, you will receive good medical attention but be prepared to have patience with the poorly run front offices.

Her office and her team answered all my questions and always made me feel comfortable. After my surgery, I was so nervous for my post op appointment that I just immediately cried when one of the nurses took me back. She calmed me down and really sympathized with my feelings, which meant so much. Dr. Wyll is very nice and professional and has a gentle hand even when a weenie like me is in her office. While I'm still in recovery, I am so pleased with my results. I can finally breathe again, it's like a whole new world. I have a chance at a better life thanks to Dr. Wyll and I am forever grateful.

When I called the office on 9/14/26, staff confirmed the fee exists to prevent missed appointments, but also confirmed it is not refunded or credited toward your visit even when you attend. A no-show deterrent you pay either way isn't a deterrent; it's a higher price for the same appointment, charged only to patients without insurance, often the people least able to absorb extra costs. This practice is operated by Texas ENT Specialists / Elevate ENT Partners, so self-pay patients at their other locations may want to ask whether the same fee applies. This is a billing-policy issue, not a comment on the physicians' clinical care.
