I actually browsed the store twice because there was so much to see I kept missing items. The refurbished furniture was lovely work and well chosen paint colors. If I had space at home, I found two pieces of furniture I would have purchased. I still think about those and keep trying to find a way to use. The store is fun with so many types of merchandise that you just need to visit the shop. Old, new, refurbished, Primitives, unique items for a large homes or businesses all under one roof. Stop in!

Sure, there have been a number of antique/home decor/boutiques come and go, but this one just opened and looks to be attracting a steady clientele. Nestled on the north side of Jefferson about a block west of the courthouse, this shotgun style business is long and narrow but still had enough room to get around. Inside, there is a wide variety of items to choose from: Some for gifts, some for personal, some for a laugh. The next time you feel like browsing for something different, stop by. They have street parking as well as a free parking lot across the street. The cluster of shoppes all carry items that are a little bit different and together are making the downtown a destination for a day of browsing/buying. Review #2726

Flowers, in all forms, should be a normal part of life. And cut flowers have this magical property of bringing just a sprinkle of nature into our homes. Recently, I needed to have flowers delivered. I have a favorite florist on the North side, but I thought the delivery address may be out of their zone or I would have to pay extra. So, to Yelp I went! And, once again, the Yelp community came through in a big way! Penny's was the best reviewed florist in the area I was searching. Honestly, I was a little nervous because their featured image is of 30 floor lamps and not flowers. But I realized they also sell home decor (& more!). And I couldn't really argue with the 4.8 rating (4.9 after this review??). I have never visited Penny's in person, but I may stop by sometime to check out the housewares. I did my shopping online like you do for most florists. The website was easy to navigate and included pictures of the flower arrangements. I was also pleasantly surprised by their prices. They offered several price ranges, but even the lower range still offered great selections. I chose one right in the middle. Checking out was a breeze, as well as inputting all of the delivery information. There wasn't a way to select a time for delivery that I saw. You can type in requests, but there is also a note that says time requests are not guaranteed. But I moved forward hoping my delivery would take place during the business day. On the day of delivery, I received a courtesy call at 8:30am that he flowers were on their way and would be delivered in about an hour! The arrangement was beautiful, smelled exquisite, and looked like the photo online. Well, done, Penny's. Well, done! While my favorite bouquet continues to be that of a fine, red wine, I truly appreciate the scent of fresh-cut flowers. Over the past few years, I have realized just how important smell is to me. Whether it's the aroma of dinner roasting in the oven, lighting a candle after cleaning the house, or an intoxicating perfume lingering in the air... smells are powerful. Fresh flowers brighten up a room both aesthetically and olfactory-lly (?!).

There weren't any long lines, it was a set price for a car or mini van full so the price wasn't too bad if you pack in the family and friends. We got right in and waited in a short line to pay, after that you fall in line behind that car in front of you and slowly drive through the Brickyard while listening to Christmas music and looking and the many lights. It's great for parents with young children as you can stay warm and toasty in the car seats with out lugging the diaper bag and stroller. There are a wide variety of themes for the lighted displays. Some were easier to identify than others. The lights have a significant amount of spacing between them which for some of the displays made it hard to determine what it was. It's something unique that's fund to do at the holidays once, but once you've had the experience

My family and I got dinner in Speedway before at Dawson's on Main and got to the gate a little before 6 p.m. the night before Thanksgiving. There were just a few cars ahead of us. We paid our $25 and drove through for the next 30 min, admiring the 2.5 million lights at 5 mph. I didn't go last year (the inaugural year) but I heard this year the route is longer and there are more lights. It's clear they put a lot of work into this - there is no shortage of things to look at. Since this is a pricer holiday attraction, I recommend filling your car with friends + family to justify the $25 price/car (this is the rate Monday-Wednesday; Thursday-Sunday is $30). Visit on Monday night and $5 of your admission will be donated to United Way of Central Indiana. I recommend going earlier in the night rather than later as I heard wait times can be long.
