I booked Jessie for my wedding this year to do hair and makeup. She and her team had worked on me a few years ago for my brother's wedding, so I already knew that she was good. She is very talented, listens to you, and manages to make you look like a glammed up version of yourself for the big day. She has several packages to choose from, and she offers trials as well. I sent her links to my pinterest page, and she was able to get the look I was going for. I was a little concerned that the hair and makeup may not last until the wee hours of the night, but they did! So well in fact, that I had panda eyes when I tried to wash everything off, haha. Throughout the day, I had to re-touch the undereye with q-tips and YSL touch eclat, but that's pretty par for the course. The hair looked as good at the end of the night as it did in the morning for the first look. I'll attach a photo during one of the wardrobe changes, which shows my hair around 8 hours later. She gets back to you in a reasonable of time, is responsible and shows up punctually (I had a 6 am start, so this was important), and most importantly, is really good at what she does. Bonus that she was able to help lace up my corset and get me into my dress. She's a pro at veils and explaining to your party how to swap the veil for the comb as well. Plus, she's really nice and pleasant, which is helpful when you're stressed out. She packs a touch up kit for you, which has trial/deluxe products that you may need, which was a lovely bonus. Anyway, I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a hair and MUA! read more

Wedding by Jessie - my hair 8-ish hours later, still looks fresh! - Makeup Artists Near Me - Santa Clara, California

I was in search for a hair stylist one week before a holiday event! Thank goodness my sister had picked up Jessie's business card from a venue's Meet & Greet event. I texted Jessie for her availability and she replied in 16 minutes. I'm big on promptness, so I'm glad to say she made a positive first impression. I sent her photos from her portfolio to get a quote. Reasonably, she provided a range because it depends on how much hair she's working with. Few days before our appointment, she reminded me to shampoo my hair and condition the ends - not the scalp. Love the instructions! Come the day of our appointment: I asked her to come to my home for a small travel fee, and she arrives on time. So considerate that she parked on the curb instead of the driveway! She strikes up a great conversation with my mother ; I'm more of a listener than a talker - haha! Jessie finishes my updo within an hour and I love it. It's exactly what I asked for. I appreciate that she used more Bobby pins than hairspray, so washing my hair won't be as difficult later. She hid the Bobby pins incredibly well. She brought all the materials, though I recommend you provide the extension cord, power strip, and mirror if you ask her to come to your home. Thank you, Jessie! Highly recommended. I'll reach out to you for my wedding :) read more

I booked an appointment 3 weeks before, however, when I arrived at the studio for haircut, she was doing hair for another customer, and didn't remember I have an appointment with her, she also recommended me to book another time. I was disappointed, because I already moved all of my other works, and drove there. It's a waste of time. After I left, Jessie never reach out to me and check if I would like to make another appointment. read more

I am so blessed to have Jessie as my Make up artist. I've seen her work many times before and she's always so precise and takes time to understand what fits your profile and features. I had recently done a trial with her, and I sent a photo of what my goal make up would be. And she studied it and perfectly replicated the photos. She did take time to adjust the make up being that we all have different features. At the end result I loved it and my mom and friends as well. She made me look gorgeous. And truthfully she spent so much time on my make up that it felt as if it was my wedding day. And I didn't realize how much of a bridezilla I was until I had my make up done.. but Jessie was so so patient and nice with me.. she's a sweet and professional gal. I am looking forward to getting my make up done by Jessie on my wedding day! I can't wait! read more

I don't like wearing makeup at all so I was extremely picky when trying to decide on a "look" for the makeup and hair for my wedding. After my trial with Jessie (it was supposed to be 2 hours long but she spent 3 hours with me to try to find the right look), I emailed her to tell her that I wanted something completely different for my makeup and hair. I felt bad and totally expected her to not want to work with me anymore...but she stepped up to the challenge, didn't make me feel like a bridezilla, and was very accommodating. I was super happy with how my makeup and hair turned out and that is not an easy thing to accomplish so all the props to Jessie! Her prices are also very reasonable so just contact her for a trial! She's the best. read more

In addition to being one of the nicest people you will ever meet, Jessie is an incredible hair & makeup artist! I chose her based on the wealth of positive yelp reviews, and she exceeded expectations. Her prices are very reasonable, especially if you get a package for the bridal party. Jessie is a perfectionist and a skilled artist, taking her time to make sure everyone is satisfied. I was really impressed by how much attention she paid to tiny details at my makeup trial, and even more so on the big day. All of my bridesmaids LOVED Jessie's work. We marveled at how well the makeup stayed on despite windy outdoor photos, sweaty dancing and teary toasts. One bridesmaid fell asleep without washing her face and woke up the next morning still looking flawless! I only needed a little spritz of hairspray and extra lipstick later in the day, which Jessie graciously provided in a lovely touch-up kit. I cannot recommend Jessie highly enough. Thank you for making my wedding party shine! read more

Wedding by Jessie - Happy bride! - Makeup Artists Near Me - Santa Clara, California

Where do I begin with Jessie!! She is such an amazing hair and makeup artist. I went into my wedding makeup trial knowing very little about makeup, or how to style myself. I let Jessie do her magic and I was SO happy with the results. She understood what looks good and what doesn't, and gave me a glam yet natural look. I knew immediately at that time, before we even started trying out hairstyles, that I would hire Jessie as my wedding hair and makeup artist. During our trial, Jessie tried three hairstyles on me: 1 updo, 1 half updo, 1 down. Each was elegant with loose curls. I ended up choosing a down hairstyle, side swept with hair piece. I loved it so much on my wedding day!! In additional, on my wedding day, Jessie left me with a touch up bag with lip gloss, hair spray, Q tips, hair pins, and oil blotting sheets! I was extremely touched by this and felt so taken care of. Thank you, Jessie, you are the best! I will not hesitate at all to recommend Jessie to anyone looking for an amazing hair and makeup artist for wedding, family portrait, maternity, or any kind of photo shoots or occasions. read more

Jessie did an awesome job for my cousin's wedding. My cousin had booked Jessie for makeup and hair for herself and four of her bridesmaids (I was the maid of honor). I usually NEVER wear makeup. I dont know how to put it on, buy it, or color match it! She definitely worked her magic on my face. I got a lot of compliments!!! And she made my cousin look soooooo pretty...like a model! Jessie told us that our makeup would last the entire wedding day/night. She was right! Our make up stayed on our faces the entire night. We all got fake eye lashes too which made us all look more beautiful than we already are! =) Jessie had someone else with her that did hair for all the bridesmaids. I dont remember her name, but she did an awesome job as well. She even helped us to sew a sash for us so that it fit one of the bridesmaids!!! Jessie and her team go above and beyond to make the day special! The best part is that Jessie travels. Just tell her where and when you need her! Jessie and her team traveled to our hotel suite to do everyone's hair and makeup. They arrived around 8am and left around 12 noon. Four hours for five people! Great timing and great work ladies! Thank you!!! read more

Today I went to Jessie to add color highlight to my hair, I was extremely happy with the outcome. This is the 2nd time Jessie color my hair and she did a great job both times. She is so patient with me and I really felt I was taken good care of. I don't color my hair often and do not know the color very well. After showing her a few photos that I googled, she knew exactly what to do with my hair. The result was great and I will definitely go back to see her for the years to come. I highly recommend Jessie! read more

Jessie is the best! I absolutely love working with her. She did my hair for my wedding and hair/makeup for 6 others in my wedding party. Jessie Weng is the best! I was referred to her by mother-in-law's friend who had makeup done. I wasn't expecting much but Jessie exceeded my expectations in all areas. She did my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot, my wedding hair and makeup, my bridesmaids' hair and makeup, my mom's makeup, and even my husband's makeup. Very professional, polite, sweet, and friendly. She has the magical ability to determine what you want even though you don't know what you want. Or maybe you do know what you want, but she does it even better. Her makeup style relies more on the natural, fresh, youthful look rather than layers and layers of makeup. Her packages are very reasonable and I love that you get a trial on several styles and options before your big day. She works quickly and efficiently. Follow-up and communication was a breeze. We were always on the same page with where to meet, details, what was expected on both ends, payments, and everything. She responds to all my texts in a timely manner no matter when I send them. She never once seemed stressed out and always has a friendly smile. read more

Jessie did my hair and makeup for my wedding- she was highly recommended by my cousin who knows her from a few other weddings that she's been part of. We had 2 trials because I changed my mind on the look I was going for- the 1st trial, I thought I wanted a more modern, polished up-do and then I decided to go with a more loose, romantic hairstyle. We tried 2-4 different looks each time. Each time, Jessie was super attentive to the examples that I had given and offered her own suggestions on how to make me look my best. And I really did. She showed up on time to my wedding with her assistant, Deana to work on me and my mom. She had really great advice prior to the weddingon how I should prepare and when to have my bridesmaids join me so the day would not be too crazy. She even made sure that I stayed hydrated, fed, and comfortable as I was being worked on. Even when she was done glamming me up and ready to go, Jessie and Deana hung around and went way, way above and beyond to help us with our last minute preparations. Our ceremony was outdoors and the day was HOT so Jessie took extra care to make sure that my makeup would stand up to the heat. She gave me a touchup kit and explained how to touch up my makeup (in the chaos, the kit got misplaced, so I actually went the rest of the day with the original makeup but my face definitely survived the day!) We ended up being a few minutes behind for the ceremony and Jessie graciously stepped in, offering her wedding expertise to lace me into my wedding gown! (wish I could give her an extra star just for that!). I was very impressed by how elegant I looked- my makeup was natural but definitely stood out enough as the Bride's makeup. My mom looked absolutely wonderful as well, and many of my guests could not believe that she was old enough to be my mom! Jessie is extremely professional, talented and has an awesome personality- she really made me feel beautiful and glamorous for my special day and I'm looking forward to getting her to work on me for future special events! read more

I'm going to preface this review by saying that this review is not based on actual services, just strictly communication. I reached out to Jessie via text 2 weeks ago, and inquired about makeup services for my future mother in law for my wedding. She responded pretty quickly, saying she was available that day. I wasn't able to pinpoint the exact address but let her know it was in the SJ area, because we are still in the process of house hunting. I asked her to send over a contract after confirming she could do makeup that day by 10am. After several followup texts and days of waiting in between, she still didn't email me the contract. Today, I received a text saying she couldn't do makeup before 10am and was only free after 10am. I now have to source another MAU and am quite disappointed with the sparse communication. I feel if someone isn't very responsive from the get go, they might not be reliable the day of... read more

Jessie and her team are truly superstars! I was referred to Jessie by my wedding planner, Glowingly Events. Jessie and her team arrived promptly at 6:45 AM and set up super quick for a total of 8 ladies. As we spoke about the timeline, makeup and hairstyle in advance, everything went super well. Jessie gave great instructions to my bridal party about preparing and it was truly a great experience. Jessie went above and beyond, she helped prep my husband's hair too! She stayed with me through the tea ceremony and when I changed into my wedding dress. Best experience and I can only recommend Jessie Weng for your bridal makeup and hair! read more

Choosing Jessie to be my wedding make up and hair stylist is my best choice ever. She did the great job on my wedding. Usually, I don't like putting too much powder and eyes shadow because it will make me look old and no longer be myself. However, Jessie make my wedding day be perfect. Her make up was amazing and natural. I was lucky to have Jessie make-up on my big day. I was really surprising when looking myself at the mirror. The make-up trial was very experience, she will do 3 hair styles and see which one you like. She recommended me the skin care products to protect skin and also the cleansing mask which help the make up absorb better and my skin look smooth on the wedding day. I would recommend Jessie to everyone, my friends or my family member. She is really nice and easy to communicate with. She will do the best she can and make you become the most beautiful bride on your special day. read more

I'm going to be absolutely honest even if I'm going against the majority. I feel I can only give Jessie 2 stars because it's true: I did experience better, unfortunately. I went into my trial with the expectation that I would love Jessie as much as my friends who had gotten their bridal hair/makeup from her and would basically contract for her services by the time we were done. Even so, I was punctual and prepared with a dossier of styles to show her what I want. Communication wasn't an issue since I'm fairly bilingual and was persistent in following up with her to schedule a trial. Even with all the advantage heaped on her, Jessie still didn't work out for me. Although I emphasized a natural touch, I felt that the makeup kinda veered towards drag queen land. The strip lashes reminded me of spiky tarantula legs. And the airbrush foundation was really deplorable - it appeared scaly and cakey (maybe due to lack of primer?). She seemed skillful with the updo I requested, but it ended up being a haphazard pile of coils. Don't get me wrong: she has a lovely demeanor. I couldn't stop cracking up when she applied tape to "give" me eyelids. And the eye make-up she applied on me was really pretty. I do think that while her work looks a little heavy in person, it does look good in photos. I just had higher expectations of bridal hair/make-up and had to go elsewhere to satisfy my vain, vain vanity. read more

Jessie is a very nice person and the make up and hair trial went well, but on the wedding day things got very hectic and my hair didn't come out the way I wanted. There's a part of my hair that sticks out and I didn't notice it until I saw the pics :( My bridesmaid woke up 15 mins late and this contributes to the issue but Jessie was so in a hurry to leave that she didn't give me that much chance to look at the hair and make up after she was done. read more

I set up a hair trial appointment with Jessie and she is very good at what she does! My hair is really thick and every time I have attempted an updo, I feel like Marge Simpson. Jessie was able to put my hair up without it looking too large or overwhelming. In 1 hour, she was able to do 4 different hair styles. She even was willing to let me use her tiaras, hair extension, flower clips, or hair jewels if I needed them. The only problem I had with her was that she was late for our trial by half an hour because she forgot, but she gave me a nice discount to make up for it. She also does make up, but I already booked a MUA. I'm sure she does make up as well as she does hair. She completely understood my hair and it's texture and told me what was the best way to care for it to prepare for the big day. read more

Jessie was recommended to me from one of my neighbors, who used her when she got married. When she showed me some of the pictures from her wedding, I was sold. I rarely wear make-up, so when I went in for the trial I was a bit nervous at first. I told her I wanted something natural and not over-the-top because I wanted to look like me, not some airbrushed supermodel (Although I guess that wouldn't be so bad either) on my wedding day. Jessie totally got it. Jessie was so helpful, talkative and friendly that I didn't notice how quickly time passed. My make-up came out flawless, beautiful and my lashes were so natural. She did a fantastic job and I was so excited for the wedding day! Fast forward to our wedding day, and Jessie came and did the make-up and hair just as I had initially requested during the trial. She went above and beyond, even helping my mom with her eye make-up. She got along with everyone in the bridal room, stayed longer to help me into my veil, and I got so many compliments throughout the night. I cannot recommend her enough. Side tip: she used to do wedding hair and make-up in Taiwan, so she knows her stuff and especially what looks and doesn't look good on Asians! This was really important to someone like me who doesn't want to look like a clown. Thanks Jessie! read more

Work: Jessie came highly recommended by a friend for wedding makeup. She's expensive ($400 for hair + makeup on wedding day), but she did a beautiful job and worked quickly. As others have said, Jessie knows how to do Asian hair and makeup, which is what I needed. Pricing: When I researched wedding makeup artists, I saw artists around the $100 range (with quality that I questioned) and higher end artists (with quality that I trusted more from their photos) around the $400 range. Unfortunately brides, not much pricing in between. Unlike other artists, Jessie does not charge for commuting from San Jose to San Francisco. Client Service: Jessie is friendly, respectful, easy to work with, and creative enough to suggest things that you'll like. read more

I had two other makeup trials before I had one with Jessie. She spent much more time with me than the other women, and allowed me to try 2-3 different hair and makeup looks. She let me take pictures and even asked me to go outside so I could view the makeup in natural light. She really listened to what I wanted and worked with me to achieve the look I was going for, which was natural, but pretty :). She is very sweet and professional. On my wedding day, Jessie and her assistant arrived at the hotel on time. She prepped my skin, shaped my eyebrows, and applied my makeup beautifully. She also curled my hair and added very real-looking extensions that made my hair look long and luscious. She was very thoughtful and made sure I had enough to eat before she applied my makeup. Bonus: Jessie left me with a touch-up kit complete with foundation, lipstick, lip gloss, makeup applicators, and even hairspray. She made me feel gorgeous on my wedding day...thank you, Jessie! read more

Jessie helped on my bridesmaid hair style on 7/25/2015, my wedding day. I have a primary make up artist who did my bridal make up and hair for me. Since I have 5 bridesmaids, my primary MUA told me that she probably won't have much time to do bridal party's hair. I ended up decide to look for another MUA for help a week before my wedding. I found Jessie on Yelp. After browsing her website, I sent her an email for a quote. The price is very reasonable, especially she is very experienced. I also chatted with her over the phone. She's super sweet and reliable. On the wedding day she not only showed up on time (yes, 5AM), she quickly set up all her equipments and finished all the bridesmaids hair in 2 hours, which is very impressive! While I was so busy on my own that day and didn't get chance to chat with her, all my bridesmaid gave me very positive feedback on her. My wedding party couldn't look that amazing without her help! read more

I was looking on the internet for my bridal make up. Most of the other make up artists in this area charge a high price for both wedding make up and trial. I found Jessie's website and called her, the quote she gave (especially for the trial) was very reasonable. I did the trial on a weekend day, and tried 3~4 different styles. She's very skillful and approachable. I also appreciate her attention to detail. We then had calls/emails regarding to the arrangement on the wedding. My wedding venue opens at 3pm with photographers ready on the same time, so we have to start the make up at my home. On the day of the wedding, she arrived at my home early and got my hair and partial make up done. Then we headed to the wedding venue to complete the rest of the make up while photographers taking the preparation photos. She also helped my husband with his hair/base touch. She finished everything 30 mins early so we were left with plenty of time to take photos before guests arrived. She also stayed after the ceremony was done to help with touch up, take off the veil, etc. and left a touch up kit before she left. I received lots of compliments for my hair/make up from our guests! I would highly recommend Jessie for someone that is looking for make up artists for their special events! read more

several of my friends had their hair/makeup done by jessie. i shopped around for a while... there is no recession when you mention the word "wedding" (in fact, the pricing goes up yearly...even since 2008). you can get your hair and makeup cheaper if you hire a person from the makeup counter for makeup and a hair person that charges by the hour. but i wanted to find one person to do both so that i minimize the risk of one of them being late (morning wedding). trial: she forgot about my trial (i did not tell my mom as she would have been worrying..). ended up having coffee at peet's while waiting for her to arrive. trial was rushed because i didn't have the 3 hrs (photography engagement scheduled). got a huge discount to make up for it which made me happy because that was how much i wanted to pay in the first place. wedding day: she arrived 5 minutes early but didn't want to wake up everyone at the house by ringing the doorbell. very considerate. it was 5am (note: she looked beautiful herself at that hour!!) her work is excellent!! she is fast, detail-oriented...very very good at what she does. i had my hair up for the short tea ceremony at my house. then she put my hair back down (i chose a half up/half down look). she even helped me with the corset of my wedding dress. you don't have to buy a tiara. she will let you borrow hers (for a deposit). MAKEUP: she puts on all that makeup while making it look natural. i don't usually wear makeup on a regular basis, so this was really important to me. HAIR: she's done many wedding hairstyles. you can tell her what you want, then she can translate it. she takes pictures after the trial so that she can study them. for the trial, she added hair extensions. since the hair extensions only came in about 5 colors...and none of them matched perfectly, i didn't use them. just let my hair grow a bit until the wedding. (and brides, you will be sooo happy to get your first haircut after the wedding!! i was!!) MAKEUP (or HAIR) for others: she also does hair and makeup for others. but i don't recommend that you have her do all your bridesmaids especially if you have a morning wedding like me. there just isn't enough time! she did my mom's makeup also. after the wedding, i was at the house putting things away. then i laid down for half an hour to rest (which ended up being a bad idea since i felt more tired!!). got up since we had relatives at the house for a catered dinner. when i look at the pics taken at my house after a short rest, i'm amazed at how the makeup and hair stayed looking nice!! (i didn't even touch up!) if you are worried that you need a touch up, you can pay extra to have her do that for you, but mine was still perfect 12 hours later. yes, i would highly recommend her since her work is wonderful. just make sure you call her a day or two before your trial to confirm. * when i think about my wedding day, i can't believe i had a 20 hr day off of 2.75 hrs of sleep the night before * read more

I have always gone to Jessie for my makeover needs and she has never failed me. On my big day, of course, I have to have Jessie work on my look because there's no better candidate. I was so blessed to have Jessie by my side throughout the day. She amazingly created three different looks to go with my three different wedding outfits and she did it without flaws. Jessie helped altered my dress over and over many times. I actually felt bad that she had to do that for me but she didn't mind it at all because she wanted it be perfect. She even provided me with complimentary accessories and the veil. Her expertise definitely shows through her work. Jessie is always punctual, very attentive, and is super detail oriented. She had great suggestions and was very detailed. Everyone complimented me on the makeup for the engagement photos. Then for the wedding day, she came to the hotel do my hair and makeup. She was very flexible and was able to do my mom's hair as well as one of the bridesmaids hair. I had Jessie Weng as my make-up and hair artist for my wedding day. Absolutely fine and detailed work. You can definitely tell that it is way better make-up skill than going to a cosmetic counter at a department store. She even lend me the hair decorations for the wedding day, so I don't have to spend tons of money on something that I will only wear for one day. Jessie did a wonderful job for me and my family for my wedding day in Sept of 2009. I was so lucky to have found Jessie just 1 month before my wedding--ladies, a word of advice, book your hair and makeup artist 3-6 months in advance! First, we had a trial session during which we tried 2 looks. I went in thinking that I knew what I wanted, but Jessie was able to come up with something different that was much more flattering for me. Not only did I feel beautiful and receive a lot of compliments on my wedding day, the makeup was natural enough that I still looked like myself. Jessie was also very accomodating in creating a package for my family members. Jessie was very professional throughout the whole process--arriving on time, and getting everyone ready on time. I couldn't recommend her more enthusiastically! read more

What can i say about Jessie that has not already been said??? I adore Jessie's work and dedication! She did an amazing job for my wedding (myself and 5 Bridesmaids). It made me sad when it was all over! She was that good! Bridesmaids were so happy by the way they were taken care of by her and her team. Getting ready the morning of the wedding was so much fun even if it was 6am! She has high attention to detail and handles any kind of hair or make up situation like a super pro! Please use Jessie for your wedding, you will not be dissapointed. Highly recommended by my mom. Enough said! read more
