This business deserves 0 stars…read more My experience with Emily & Michelle (the studio manager) was similar to the other 1 star reviews you will see on this page. They were by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful vendor I encountered during all of my wedding research. The biggest pain point was unresponsiveness which was consistently bad from day 1. It was silence for days despite multiple follow ups, even when we got to the month of the wedding. Whenever I did receive an overdue response, they were unapologetic and I might even say rude. Because of the concerns with communication, my planner kept trying to dissuade me from hiring Emily and I held out until the very last moment hoping to find another HMU artist. However, we were close to my wedding date and even with my planner's help, I wasn't able to find an alternative. So I reluctantly signed the contract a few days before the wedding and transferred a $1600 deposit. That's when I came across the reviews on this page about the no shows. That was the (much delayed) final straw, and coincidentally a HMU artist I had reached out to months prior reached out to say she was available for my wedding. So I notified Emily that evening asking if she would consider refunding any part of my deposit. Granted, she has no legal obligation to do so but it had been less than 24 hrs since I had sent her the deposit (in other words, less than 24 hrs that she held my wedding date which means no lost business for her). No response from her. She kept my $1600. Even with forfeiting the deposit, I decided to switch my HMU artist and 1000% believe I made the right decision. If I hadn't, I would have continued to stress about whether she would show up on my wedding day, and even if she had, I'm not sure how the experience would have gone. For example, if I wanted an adjustment to my hair or make up, would she have been accommodating? Shame on me for ever signing with Emily against my better judgement! I never write reviews but felt compelled to share this experience. I don't recommend her for any future brides.

She had to go to another makeup appointment so I stayed back for 30 minutes taking my time getting ready and not feeling rushed. I couldn't decide between two dresses and she helped me pick the winner. I'm really happy with her services and how affordable it was!

She was super flexible and listened to all my feedback during the session. For example, she noted my oily skin/eyelids, was attentive to how I preferred my bangs, helped add volume to the areas I was concerned, and even included some of my favorite makeup products that I brought along with me. We communicated very well and it was such a joy to work with someone that I vibed so well with! The trial experience made it easier for me to trust in her completely during the wedding day. On the wedding day, Grace was very thoughtful and considered the proper amount of time her team would need to complete a round of hair and makeup for a group of 10, including the bride, groom, bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, and sister. Grace was also super helpful in leading her team, by helping touch up after hair and make up were completed by the other team members, and checking in to ensure the team was not running too far behind. We met at her Sunnyvale studio for the trial. She gave lots of helpful tips on what she recommended for my skin tone, skin type, and my hair length, and explained the different products she was using and why she was using them. I really appreciated her attention to detail and that she took her time perfecting the small details. She was also super chill to chat with. I had booked the trial the same day as an engagement photoshoot, and the photos turned out better than I could've imagined! On wedding day, Ann and her assistant arrived to our venue bright and early. I was feeling a little nervous, but the 2 hours with Ann left me feeling super at ease - it was a peaceful session despite how hectic wedding days usually go! I had also noted small changes I wanted from the trial and she was super receptive to my preferences, making sure I felt my best on wedding day.
