This phase of the shopping center is anchored by a Harris Teeter, YMCA, Wells Fargo bank and a number of restaurants plus an animal hospital. There is a lot of real estate here making for an open plan parking area that is very well maintained and the landscaping is properly trimmed. Lots of parking. Easy access to Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road if you want to go south and Weddington Road from the west. There is a traffic light at the intersection for u-turns. Honestly, I used to hate it, given its cluster-***k, traffic-jam design...BUT, I'm happy to say that the place improved over the years. It now houses many cool places that I love, like Le Peep and Kung Fu Tea, for starters. I guess the strength lies in the numerous number of restaurants and eateries, including many ethnic varieties (from Japanese and Malaysian, to Cajun and Greek). The big minus of this strip is the lack of cool retail stores. There ARE some retail stores, but not so much in terms of boutiques. Also, again, the overall design layout is somewhat wild, random and awkward. One of the highlights of this place that many may not know is this lake - complete with fountains and ducks (see pics) - behind several restaurants, like Chili's. It's a great place to stroll around after a huge meal or a drink. Anyway, this is an old staple of South Charlotte...and I'm glad to see that it's still thriving!

This highly trending area is certainly led by this shopping center of epic proportions. Without delivering you readers into list hell there's no way this review will be all inclusive of what there is to offer. I'll start by saying that even the typically low-quality stores you find here are several steps above and beyond any other location you've been to for the same chain. Fast food: McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, Bojangles, Starbucks, Quick Trip (QT). Fast casual: CAVA, Taziki's, Viva Chicken, Chipotle, Firehouse, Panera. Plenty of sit down restaurants including Chuy's, CO, Carolina Ale House and others. Haagen Daz and Menchie's for that after dinner fix. Or hit up the gelato spot in Whole Foods. Speaking of which, now you know where to get your groceries. This still doesn't mention the slew of stores, gyms, hotels, apartments and condos here. Even electric car chargers are available in front of Whole Foods. And while this is one massive shopping center, there's still another across the road and countless more within a short drive as this area explodes with growth. The layout is beautiful and incredibly walker friendly. You can people watch to no end. Or catch a sunset on the Whole Foods balcony. Lots of teenagers and kids are usually running around here so take that into consideration. Parking can be tight in some areas and at certain times. But you can see lots of expensive cars rolling through and enjoy the outside air on a nice day.
