The store had tons of selection and a great variety of products, which was great! as I was trying on a couple different pieces, Merhawit was a tremendous help. Given the proximity to our home, we've been visiting here quite a few times. Aside from loving the easy location, I must mention that the best part of this strip is the lake and sitting areas located behind Spice Asian Kitchen, Napa and Taco Molino. The strip is impressive in size with a variety of restaurants...but honestly, it's not the most beautiful. All very brown, almost industrial...I'd say it's one of the most masculine looking shopping strips. The thing I don't like is how busy it is! By 5:45 pm, parking lots are packed...and the place is just a tad too busting at times...often with many kids. However, it has this near picturesque lake scene (complete with ducks, even a fake waterfall!) in the back that we really enjoy! If only there weren't office buildings behind that lake. :\ We usually get ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery after dining somewhere in this super-busy complex (So many restaurants here!), walk out to the lake, sit on one of their many comfy loungers and enjoy our dessert with a view. I was here for the Fortune Cookie II Chinese restaurant but there is also pizza, nails, a nice Mexican place, Starbucks, Burger King and Game Stop. There is no traffic light to get in here but they have built a "cut" so that you can cross the northbound traffic to enter the shopping center. Please be careful - if the first lane stops, the second lane might not! You can also make a U-turn at Sandy Porter. I recommend taking the exit past the Burger King. Showmars, Chinatown and a Subway are the eateries. There is also a marine shop (the lake isn't too far away), packaging/shipping store, hair cut salon and dry cleaners. The outbuilding is a Bank of America branch with a drive through. The shopping center is in excellent condition with a smooth parking lot that is well lit at night and with speed bumps in front to keep people driving appropriately. Due to the number of collisions, they have set up a curb to prevent people from either crossing over to the Steele Creek Shopping Center or turning north on Steele Creek. I recently visited this Nordstrom Rack location after moving to Charlotte, and overall, it was a…read moresolid experience. Nordstrom Rack has always been one of my favorite places to shop. I used to work at a full line Nordstrom years ago, so I know quality when I see it. That's why I love the Rack because you can always expect good brands at better prices than you'd find at the full line store. To some people, Nordstrom Rack still feels a little pricey for a discount store, but you really have to compare it to the original full line price tags. I live in the NoDa area, and I will say this location was a bit farther out than I expected, about 25 minutes from my house. I was honestly surprised that there isn't a Nordstrom Rack closer to the city. This one is more on the outskirts, which is fine, but it does make quick trips or exchanges a little less convenient. Yes, you can return items at the full line Nordstrom, but sometimes you just want to browse and see what's new. Parking here was easy, and the store itself was clean and well organized. Coming from Houston and then Florida, I wasn't used to seeing so many coats in stock, so that actually caught my attention. They had a big winter selection, and I ended up leaving with a super cute trench coat, a puffer jacket, and a couple of other cold weather pieces since I know Charlotte winters are going to be colder. The staff was about as friendly as you'd expect at a Nordstrom Rack, but they moved quickly, and the checkout line wasn't long. Overall, this location was consistent with the other Nordstrom Racks I've been to. No surprises, just the usual dependable Rack experience. I'd definitely return.

The store was very well stocked and clean. You didn't see much on the ground from items knocked down. The items I found were priced very well. No complaints. There was so much variety here that you could spend a lot of time in this store. Upon checking out, I was greeted by a young lady. She asked me about opening a store credit card and I told her no thank you. Her demeanor changed, lol! I mean I'm sorry that I don't shop here often enough but also store credit cards are too limiting! But anywho...nice experience here and I would return.

I do and sadly those days are slowly yielding way to Ecommerce, outdoor shopping centers designed for ease of access and speed, and new societal norms. Located in a safe area off of I-485 Carolina Place is a very nice place to take the family while shopping for all those modern needs or even for us older folks, a step back in memory lane. I mean gone are Radio Shack, Merry-Go-Round, Aladdin's Castle, KB Toys and Suncoast to name a few replaced by empty units or some places that have been able to maintain their leases like Belk (for those southern folks), Gamestop, Dicks and well you get the point. The main take away is I feel is the place is safe and has great natural light. I took my daughters and got their bathing suits at a place that will remain nameless one for $80 the other $60, but alas the discount brought both to $50 total. I'm ignorant of pricing at retail stores and how it works during the season but that was just weird to me. We wondered around, picked up some Auntie Anne's pretzel bites (our favorite) to nibble on while I took them to several stores which they loved including Hot Topic and Claire's. I really like the layout here, wide open. My favorite place to take my girls is the food court. We saw a huge line and while I hoped it was for multiple restaurants, nope I knew what it was for. Sarku had over 30 people in line while all the other stalls had one or two customers. All in all it took us roughly 20 mins to get our food. I'm curious what would happen if I dropped another Sarku in the food court? Anyways, they were SLOW but as always really good. So, when you're there I highly suggest Double Chicken Teriyaki w/ fried rice along with an extra scoop of sauce on the top. The chicken is nice and caramelized with a nice soy kick and fried rice, need I say more? All in all, I still cherish the mall and Carolina Place is holding up the tradition! While I wish all the units were filled, such as life these days. If you'd like to make a day of fun activities with the kids, I think you should consider stopping by, just make sure you hit the food court while doing your shopping!

Visiting for the holidays and came to Carolina Place Mall to do some Christmas shopping. It was…read morenice to have a mall half compared to the full Christmas crowd of last minute shoppers like myself, lol. There are lots of stores to choose from like lunchbox, Francesca, Bath, and body Works, jewelry, stores, and Dick's sporting goods for your sports fans and jocks. Lane Bryant for us plus size gals, one of my favorite stores, you can always find a good deal here. I always start up with the sales. It's where you can get a good deal and very low prices. Employees at every store we went into were very welcoming and courteous helping us find those special gifts we needed.
