While this can be harder for the older venue-goers like myself, I found it a bit refreshing to be able to jump into the throng, fight for a spot, and lose myself a little enjoying the bands up close. It was nice to be free of the seated mega-venues for a change. Bogart's offers a couple bar spaces with all the offerings you would expect including bagged snacks. I was not amazed by the specialty drinks on my last foray, so I might stick with the typical well cocktails on my next visit. Security was pretty aggressive at the entrance, so you might want to leave the purses and bags at home. They were even flagging things like pens, which seemed like a bit much. Parking in the Short Vine area can be a little tricky. There is mostly street parking and a couple lots, but they can be a bit on the pricey side even for just a few hours.

When you first enter, there is a large bar with its own drink menu, different than whats served inside the music area. You do need reservations to get into the music area, we didnt know that going in since we were from out of town. We were told reservations are made months in advance so we didnt really have high hopes of being able to get it but we were pleasantly surprised. We talked to the hostess and she was able to squeeze us in between reservations which was awesome. The inner bar was awesome, they gave us complimentary mini espresso shots which were served inside these chocolate little boats, so fun. I also had the best drink, #4, inspired by the pornstar martini but purple, it had Ketel One, Licor 43, passion fruit, ube, vanilla, lemon and prosecco. At one point insulation was falling from the ceiling due to how loud the bass was. The lasers and lighting were perfect along with the effects. Actually better than what I had expected. The staff is nice and supportive, they dont belittle and aren't rude. They make you feel safe. The place is clean and I like how theres GA floor, GA balcony and seating options all with great views. They serve Deweys pizza at the concession which is a nice step up from the usual larosas at other venues. They also have pretzels, chips and hot dogs. Prices for food are what you expect at a concert venue.

The venue itself is fairly large, and I noticed a mechanical bull off to the side--which could be fun to try on another visit. Once seated, we ordered food. The waitress asked us to put a credit card on file for an open tab, which we declined since we preferred to pay cash when our food arrived. Unfortunately, the food was a big letdown. We ordered chicken wings (okay, but nothing I'd order again), sweet potato fries (completely tasteless), and fried pickles, which were soggy and unpleasant. I didn't finish my food at all. Bingo itself was fun at first, but the night became increasingly rowdy. After each bingo winner, there were on-stage "challenge" competitions involving things like taking shots off skis. It escalated to asking people to twerk, and at one point a staff member grabbed a woman, lifted her onto his hips, and danced with her on stage. Everyone was clothed, but it felt awkward and crossed into inappropriate territory. The music was also extremely loud. Overall, we had fun supporting the cause, but this was a one-and-done experience for us--not because of bingo, but because of the food quality and how the on-stage challenges were handled. I'm open-minded, but it was a lot to take in. Three stars feels more than fair, especially considering how bad the food was.
