We're in Fenton and we had the only house in the neighborhood that didn't have any sort of landscaping or decorative stones in front of our house. Weekend Warriors came in and did such an amazing job on both the front and back of the house that every time a neighbor walks by there is constant comments about how spectacular it looks. These guys are great. They're very professional and really know how to create a beautiful yard. Our front yard had a few challenges with tree roots and level of the yard but the way they brought this in was unbelievable. Weekend Warriors is great....highly recommend! I had a serious drainage issue in my backyard that was causing standing water and a mosquito issue. One bid for a solution from another company was $9,000. I called Andrew from Weekend Warriors. He looked at the problem and offered a solution for less than $3,000. I was a little skeptical at first, but after one month the entire area is completely dry! Better yet, his solution was much more visually appealing than what other competitors proposed, in that there is no rock bed in the middle of the yard. Andrew's crew was very friendly. We hired Weekend Warriors to install a retaining wall, dry creek bed and patio. With a few major caveats described below, the final product was mostly fine. But getting there has been a trial, and based on that experience, I would not use this business again or recommend it to anyone. The two major issues are: 1. The work itself faced many delays, ranging from days to weeks. A few were a result of weather, which anyone can understand and expect with landscaping projects. Other delays were simply by choice, such as the company's decision to take on and commit time to subsequent jobs (including some in my subdivision) before completing work already promised to us. The consequence was that a job estimated to take a couple of weeks turned into months, until winter forced a further pause until Spring. A few plants, including a pot of tall grass and some ground cover, were also left unplanted, resulting in loss of the plants. By Springtime, freeze and thaw had thrown patio edge stones out of line because landscaping intended to support them was also not completed in the Fall. Although the basic job was completed in the Spring and the edge stones re-aligned, the sheer amount of delay and frustration involved in pushing for completion cast a pall over the whole experience. Enough delays, and you realize that whatever the excuses, their persistence itself is the problem. Very unprofessional. 2. The company cannot be trusted to honor its warranty, which is that workmanship is guaranteed against defect for a year. They did re-align the patio edge stones, and reset a few interior patio stones which had settled over the winter. They did so even though underground water movement, rather than workmanship itself, may have been a factor with the interior stones. One of the patio piers, however, also started to lean in just a couple months, and although the company owner promised to re-align it under warranty, he then disappeared rather than do the work. Through e-mails and phone calls I have pushed since late May to have the work done, but lack of response to all these attempts forces me to conclude now that he has no intention of responding or honoring his word. Hence this caution to beware of words that seem to say all the right things going in. A warranty is measured by action, not words. An irony is that these comments, based in real experience over several months, concern a company owner who described himself repeatedly as a perfectionist, and as someone who takes pride in his work. Such qualities, too, are measured by actions. read more

We hired this company to furnish materials and install a paver patio featuring a firepit and sitting wall as well as an outdoor kitchen after they came back with a competitive bid and seemed like they had a handle on the project. Upon presentation of the final bid/contract, we gave them 50% upfront as the contract called for 50% down and 50% upon satisfactory completion. Work began and they used a bobcat to move the material from the street to our side/back yard. No plywood or protectant was used and they said they would repair our lawn with sod once completed. As the firepit was completed, I noticed it was off center and measured it 3 inches off center to be exact. I approached the owner with this and he stated "Yeah, I noticed that too" as if he was waiting to see if I caught the mistake. They then had to pry the glued stones apart to move it over. This has resulted in stones not being glued back together properly. As this was completed, they repaired a small area of the damaged grass with sod and then proceeded to leave their two wheelbarrows of dirt and rock as well as other materials on top of the new sod and in my yard. I repeatedly asked the owner when he would move this and clean up the debris and he kept putting it of day after day, with no action. The outdoor kitchen components were then delivered in our front yard, weighing in at over 4,000 LBS. I asked him to move them before the weekend but they sat in our front yard for almost a week. When I expressed my frustration, the owner told me that in construction "the customer is not always right" and after 45 minutes of berating me, I was told they would not proceed unless we advanced another 25% even though the contract called for 50/50. When I asked if they were just leaving the materials and walking off, the owner replied, "that's right." I called his partner (his father) and tried to rationalize as the owner was irrational, his father said that the son owned the business and that he couldn't do anything.
