We got right in and were seen within minutes and staff took the time to listen to family and patient's concerns. The issue was resolved in a timely manner with detailed discharge instructions and needed scripts provided. The hospital was a clean, uncluttered and inviting environment. So thankful for this experience and services so nearby while we're were visiting from out of state.

I had an issue with the pharmacy and the doctors office not agreeing that I had sent in a refill for a prescription 11 days in advance of the time Dr. Woolery claimed he received it. Dr. Woolery went out of town with no emergency number on record during the time of refill. I ran out of medicine and became upset with the office. Upon Dr. Woolery's return, he claimed he could no longer refill my controlled substance, due to Florida's new law. I do not take a controlled substance that falls into the rules of this law. I believe he wanted to get rid of me because I was upset with the office for not contacting him on my needed refill while he had no emergency contact. I don't like his need to throw around his authority and don't recommend him. He left me high and dry with no advanced warning on finding a new physician.

I was kept at the hospital for four days and if it's possible to be happy with a hospital stay, this was the experience to make it so. The staff was very professional and courteous. From the orderly who accompanies you to your room, the nursing staff and to housekeeping, everyone to a person was outstanding. The food was really good, not at all the stereotypical hospital fare. Mostly, at every level, I was treated as an equal partner in my care and recovery. The decor wasn't worthy of a five star accommodation, but the most important thing, the CLEANLINESS, was there. If you must go to a hospital, I say you couldn't do any better in any other facility.

The issue I have is that they refuse to authorize my pharmacy to a refill of a prescription for a low dose statin that their Dr. prescribed (for a one year term refilled every 90 days) without seeing me and getting new labs - In other words, they want me to pay for an appointment and new labs that my insurance will only cover once per year....because their employee left. But they have the labs, which is what providers use to determine whether the prescription is warranted. Statins are literally the most prescribed medication in the US and they have all the evidence to validate a simple refill but are trying to force me to pay a significant out of pocket expense to get it.

It's apparent to me HCA is attempting to intimidate and scam patients into paying twice and likely praying on the elderly Medicare patients. I went in for foot injury from a fall that was swollen, bruised with little movement and not one time did anyone touch my foot.
