Never having needed a criminal defense attorney before, I was in shock and completely in the dark after my loved one was arrested. Starting my research knowing only that an arrest had been made, I scheduled several consultations. Michael call me back quickly and took his time answering all my questions clearly and completely. While explaining things to me, he stopped himself saying he "wanted to look into something" and would call me back. Surprised enough when he called back less than hour later, I was astonished to learn that in that short timeframe, he had asked someone from his staff to look into the case and had a complete rundown of everything I needed to know up to that point, and everything I could expect from there - all at no cost! He went on to explain why we may not even need to hire attorney for this particular case, but after hearing my concerns about possible ICE raids outside the courthouse, he quoted me a retainer fee that was roughly half the cost of the next lowest bid. Nevertheless, Wegman & Levin was able to help by first identifying that the report was made through the Sherrif's office as opposed to the police department, and made a formal request for records from the Sheriff's office before securing the elusive police report document on our behalf and at no additional expense. I ran into a little situation on some false accusations against me , I had gotten into a confrontation with some police officers that I felt like I needed to protect my rights. First off, Michael Levin is amazing. He has my highest recommendation 100%. Now, I'll tell you why... I received a letter from the City Attorneys office notifying me of a hearing that I was scheduled to appear at regarding a police report they received against me. They were looking to determine whether charges should be filed but wanted to meet with me first. I was originally going to just appear on my own and hope for the best, but the closer it got to the hearing date, the more paranoid and nervous I got. I decided to call around and at least have a consult to try and find out how this was most likely going to go. Before meeting with Michael Levin, I talked to one attorney on the phone who insisted I come see him immediately. He said I absolutely needed his services to avoid charges being filed which he implied were almost guaranteed without his representation. That of course terrified me and I considered meeting with him but his office was downtown and I couldn't make it there when he was available.
