We love Wegmans, if they sold alcohol it could be a true destination date. We love coming early in a Friday evening, getting great (cheap) food at the food bar. Wait a minute, they are CLOSING the food bar!! Why? My guess some accountant figures the x square feet can squeeze out a few more pennies as something else. Oh well, it was great while it lasted. We will still enjoy the wide variety of supermarket food, but it just becomes another supermarket really. We do like relaxing in the ample seating area after shopping and using our tablets with the free wifi, thanks for that. Free movies for little kids and excellent pastries. read more

Just OK. Slightly up-scale, usually very crowded supermarket esp. popular with the yuppies and 30-something hipsters. Can't speak to the food court, but most of what I've tried hasn't been that good, though spouse and teen like the sushi. Deli/prepared foods are way overpriced and mostly terrible. No sauce on the Mac and Cheese, not enough on the Sesame Chicken. Chicken strips were the worst I've had-tough and mostly batter. Rotisserie chicken OK, as was a prepared quiche twice the price of similar quality elsewhere. Bakery: packaged cookies taste OK, but are so heavy on the sugar and butter, I get sick every time, so they're not making it home anymore. I'm not in the least tempted by a $3.00 cupcake or an 8 oz. bag of cookies for $12 behind the case. Seafood section is large, but again very pricey. Does anyone buy it? Large produce section, but in my opinion a bit lacking on the selection. Very disappointed in the tiny, understocked floral dept-esp for a "high-end" market. A couple of aisles of health foods and supplements which occasionally comes in handy when I don't want to truck all the way down 85. Very over-priced kitchen items in the center until you reach the right half of the store with the usual frozen cases and non-perishable shelf items. I find this part of the store the most lacking in selection. Some of their generic foods are actually good, and if I stick to those and/or the sale items, I can get some of my shopping done there. I will say their generic sodas are great copies, if I weren't trying to kick that unhealthy habit. Mostly, it's a place I might run into for a couple of items if I'm in the area, or for a harder-to-find item, like organic popcorn. read more

Stopped here for a few items on my way home. I live about 45 mins north of this Wegmans. The store is very nice, and when the register lines got long, an employee offered to ring us up at customer service. Very nice of him. However, the cashier/bagger failed to put all our bags on the counter after bagging the groceries. After driving home (the 45 mins), we realized we were missing some items, worth roughly $15. Since the store is so far away, it's not worth going back and trying to convince somebody that we got ripped off. I'm sure it was an accident, but I was still inconvenienced, and out some cash, due to an employees mistake. read more

They have a lot of organic food options, a wide variety of teas, and many gluten-free products. This store will certainly provide competition to other food stores in the area. read more

This is my favorite grocery store. I love that they carry a great selection of store-brand items but also carry gourmet items. We have been very happy with the Wegman's brand products we have tried. I love getting all of the store coupons in the mail (each week $5 off your purchase and $1 off two rotating categories-- meat, dairy, health and beauty). Their prices on many items are great, such as the pack of individually freezer-wrapped chicken breasts, but the beef is really expensive. They have a number of natural and organic items as well. read more

Great experience at the pharmacy today. Des took my prescription at the counter and was fabulously communicative and helpful, gave me a ring as soon as it was filled, and checked me out all with a smile. My first time using the pharmacy there and I was impressed at how quickly they managed the queue and dealt with everyone so politely. Looking forward to returning! read more

Wegmans is my favorite place to shop. The people are wonderful, prices are CONSISTENTLY low, (unlike other grocers whose sales end within a week's time) and the store brand products are ones that you can trust, (in addition to it being cheaper than even Walmart's store brand products). I love Wegmans and after reading these reviews, I am sick to my stomach over the ridiculous things people felt the need to write here. It's kind of counterproductive to write a nasty review about a store that is always busy because of their competitive prices and high quality product, for being out of items. It's almost always busy in Wegmans everytime i go, but the weekends are extremely busy, even for other grocery stores, so plan accordingly and do your shopping earlier in the week. Also the negative reviews for the poor cashiers that make a mistakes.... they have to know the difference between hundreds of produce items, and try to somehow remember all the codes, i'm pretty sure all of us would make mistakes if we had to do the same. I can guarantee your cashier isn't trying to "rip you off". Just explain to them what it is, and they will correct it. Onions all look the same to a flustered teen trying to get through their lines. Plus, if you want to label produce products and bulk products, there are scales in the areas where those products are found! read more

I was so excited to have a Wegman's finally come to Maryland! They're building another one in Montgomery County, so I won't have to drive 20 miles to fet there, which will be great. Yes, I drive that far to shop there - it's worth it. They have a HUGE selection, and tons of options for specialty diets. There are more than three aisles of organic foods. The produce is fresh, there's a bakery on site, and a really large food bar if you want a quick lunch or need pre-cooked food to take home. And the prices are so much more reasonable that Whole Foods. read more

Love having a Wegmans in the neighborhood! I do avoid going there on weekends because it gets VERY busy and crowded which makes it too difficult to look around at all they have to offer, but weekday mornings are a great time to go if you can. Their selection far exceeds any other grocery store I have been to and their prices are comparable and often times lower than even Wal-Mart. Have yet to see any other grocery chain beat what they have to offer, but I would love to see them try! read more

Worst Wegmans in existence! This is nothing like other Wegmans and I am surprised to find these positive comments. I was impressed with other Wegmans' bakery and produce. However, you'll see me at the Walmart bakery and produce sections before returning to the Frederick Wegmans store. Unlike a typical Wegmans, this store's bakery is horrible. I literally gave an entire party Salmonella from one of their cheesecakes. Imagine the embarrassment, serving food that gets the entire party sick. Also, the quality of the Frederick Wrgmans' bakery is nothing other Wegmans' bakeries. It is just not good. Now for the produce. The last Wegmans we went to was just a step down from a farmers market. This one, again, is poor quality and is a step down from Walmart produce. It seems like all the produce we get is rotten. Or the potatoes, were actually so green, they are considered poisonous (I am not making this up: http://www.snopes.com/food/ingredient/potato.asp). On top of that they never have anything in stock. I don't know what the problem is with this store but it is not a typical Wegmans. I guess that it is just the armpit of Wegmans stores and apparently people accept this. But I expect more from my supermarket. read more
