I've been waiting for this place to open since I first heard the rumors! I practically lived at the Ithaca Wegmans during my undergrad years in upstate NY, so seeing one pop up right here in Norwalk is a total game-changer. The first thing you notice is the vibe--it feels more like an open-air market than a standard grocery store. It's huge, incredibly well-lit, and just feels "clean." Honestly, it's a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other spots around here that are starting to look a bit worn down. You can tell they actually maintain and scrub the place daily. The selection is honestly overwhelming in the best way possible. Their prepared food section is elite--I'm talking a full sushi bar, custom pizzas, a hot bar, and a deli that actually makes a decent sandwich. Plus, there's a whole second floor with tables and chairs if you want to hang out and eat there. A few things that make this my new go-to: * The Price: I was shocked at how competitive they are. They're giving Costco a run for their money on a lot of items, and they're definitely cheaper than the other local chains. * The Location: It's right across from Costco, Target, and Home Depot. I can get my entire weekend "to-do" list done without driving to different places. * The Parking: Huge private lot with two floors, so I've never had a stressful time finding a spot. * The Staff: Everyone is genuinely friendly. It makes sense, though--Wegmans is famous for actually paying their people well and taking care of them, and you can really feel that reflected in the service. Was my second time here; both times we stopped by while we charged our Tesla. My wife loved it the first time. The second time it was just me and I bought sashimi, craft beer and cookies. Things I love about this Wegmans: - they open at 6AM (makes it easy to get shopping done without a crowd) - love the two level parking lot - their bottle return section is kept clean and everytime I've been there's never a line -excellent customer service Things I don't love about Wegmans: - they are pricier than your average grocery store. Great addition of grocery stores to this wealthy area since only a few great grocers selections there. Though this Wegmans is smaller in their bunch, great selection of fresh produce, seafood, meat and bakery etc. Another great choice of stores in the are is probably Stew Leonard's but completely different items and feeling. I can have my lunch or dinner almost every day from their prepared food area. As all Wegman's stores, staffs are well trained and willing to serve us and have a great eat-in area up stairs. Something missing in this Wegmans is wines because of CT state law and RX pharmacy I think. read more

Great addition to the area. First opening day is crazy as expected. The parking lot is pretty full, very crowded because everyone comes to check it out. There's some seating area upstairs, restroom & microwave like whole foods. The sushi looks fresh, lots of bakery selections. Also prepared food for grabbing a quick meal. I just can't count how many times i got hit by people's cart today lol. Would probably come here for the seafood and bakery. Competitive price. I'm happy i got my kewpie mayo, mirin here! read more

Wegmans is a chain of gourmet grocery stores that opened in Rochester, New York in 1916. It was founded by brothers John and Walter Wegman. When the first location opened in Rochester, it was known as the Rochester Fruit and Vegatable Company. Beginning in the mid 1960s, the company began to expand and open new locations outside of the Rochester area in Hornell, Syracuse, and Buffalo. In 2016, Market Force named Wegmans "America's favorite grocery store". My family and I recently visited the brand new Wegmans in Norwalk, Connecticut, which just opened in July 2025. We have shopped at Wegmans in New York and New Jersey before and were VERY excited when we heard that the first Connecticut location would be opening. We were so impressed by both the interior and the exterior (complete with a two-story parking garage with a pedestrian bridge). We first hit up the food court to grab some prepared foods for lunch. There were so many options that it took a while for us to pick. I ended up ordering a "Chicken Shawarma Salad Bowl" while my wife ordered a "Jamaican Chicken Bowl". Our sons both ordered the same thing: a slice of "Pepperoni" and a slice of "Margherita" from the Pizza Bar. We all enjoyed our delicious lunch in the upstairs dining area. Afterwards we went shopping and picked out several of our favorite Wegmans products, including pastas, hummus, whipped cream cheese, craft beer, flavored seltzers, etc. We had an excellent shopping experience at the Norwalk Wegmans and we think it may be our new favorite location! read more

I've been a regular of Wegmans in Harrison but since I was in Norwalk it made sense to stop there. There is something to be said about standardized design. You know exactly where things are supposed to be. My big issue with location is signage or the lack of. I'm referring to parking entrance. Yes there are signs but they do not indicate "enter here" or " upper level parking". I missed the entrance and needed to in the words of my GPS" if possible make a legal u turn". Staying with the signage issue no markings for a way to get to the lower level. If I didn't overhear a customer I would not have found the elevator. The same holds true for going back up. This store is laid out just like Harrison. Just like Harrison it's clean and well lit. There was one thing I noticed and that was the shelves were rather empty. Given that the store was not that busy I was surprised to witness that. My overall experience was middle of the road. Maybe it's just teething pain, hopefully in the next few months the situation will improve. read more

The layout of the store it is concerning the handicap parking is in one area while you go in the store and the checkout is in the opposite area. This defeats the purpose of a handicap sticker with reduced walking necessity. In addition, the seafood cost is excessive. It is above both local independent seafood stores as well as other local small supermarket stores. This was my second visit there in the year and a half. I will not go back. read more

My family spends hundreds of dollars here a month. Recently, we had not one but three items spoil far in advance of the use by date. The hassle they put me through to issue me a credit left a bad taste in my mouth and will have me rethinking where I spend my grocery budget - it does make me appreciate stew Leonard's policy of generous returns and their high value on customer support. read more

Disappointed with this store to say the least. I was hoping it would really be a fresh "new" addition to us living in Fairfield county as we've had the same grocery stores forever. I'd like to start off my saying first, there is too much and it's too overwhelming ; a lot of the prepared foods was almost up to the expiration date by one day, that's not practical for prepared foods. 2. I felt the store extremely difficult to navigate and their brand is way more front and center than other regular companies in some areas especially Milk and cheese. Also, when I went to checkout it was 380$ ... for what? As I was in the car I saw the pie was 18$ I went directly on the website to realize they charged me the full pie price for my little tart that online was 9$ , I emailed customer service at corporate with my receipt and sticker / picture of the mini pie ; and they never responded. So not only did they rob me "the company" ; they don't value their customers. To top it off, cashier kept throwing things down the belt at me and I couldn't bag fast enough due to a rotator cuff tear ; idk , I wouldn't return , the food quality was mid , maybe less than mid - and customer service / corporate is shady. Tip: Don't ever go to a new grocery store on the first day open. It was a zoo. I am just glad I made it out of that parking lot without getting hit. Got hit by a cart 3 times it was so crowded. Other tip: If you get easily overwhelmed like myself these days, skip this store. It is WAY too much of everything. Absolutely everything. But ppl love this store in NY and NJ so am sure it will do fine. But I'll stick to my smaller shops. We bought 3 prepared meals (salmon bowl, chicken bowl and a small chicken parm for 7 bucks), large bottle of Kumbucha, container of hummus, tea, 4 gallons of water for 4 bucks, and a strawberry shortcake slice. The total? 92 dollars!!! They had a $5 off coupon. None of the prepared foods tasted very good and it is actually cheaper with bigger portions going to Cava for a bowl. The only winner here that I would actually return for (like 5 months from now after the novelty wears off, and at opening time before nobody is in there yet!) -- is the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE. Somebody in NY told me they had good shortcake and let me tell you -- We only bought a slice for 8 bucks and it was the best 8 bucks I've spent in a long time. I only wish I bought the whole freaking cake it was so good! Had to take an elevator with the cart to get up to my car. Asked the 2 other ladies in there what they thought. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING!!! Its Trader Joe's pricing, Costco samples and stock, it has lots of hygiene products including some Sephora level products, Whole Foods level quick meals and prepared foods, and everything that you love about your favorite grocery stores in one! All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the feel of the space was incredibly nice and the entire building felt very high end! My experience was truly life changing, and I now consider myself a brand new person! read more

Went the day after the Grand Opening. Everything is spacious, clean and well-presented. Selected items from the prepared food section and sat in the upstairs cafe area. Pizza is ok but for $4 a slice - not a great value. Asian food selection was very mediocre - salty, greasy. I believe the hot food bar was about $20/lb!!! The prices are truly outrageous for what you get. In terms of quality and value, Stew Leonard's is much better. There were several people working but no one was greeting people as they entered the store. There were also no big grand opening promotions, which I thought was weird. The place will do well for the Darien/New Canaan/Westport set looking for food items for entertaining but at some point everyone will be able to identify a Wegmans cheese board and it will be frowned upon. read more

Their hours are great 6am to midnight all week long. I am sure there are modifications for holidays that is fine. Close to home. They have a huge selection of merchandise. Some of their prices are quite competitive but others are just ridiculous. The store also lists it inventory and location in the store. I was looking for a product and it said that it was in stock. When it is not in stock it says may not be in stock or limited quantities. And it also gives the location in the store so you can plan your shopping and figure out what you are going to buy and where you need to go in Theo store (it's a large store). The item that it said was in stock wasn't. I spoke with a store employee, Keith. He told me than he would let his manager know and they would order it and would have it in on Saturday. And he would call me on Saturday and confirm it came in. Well Monday came and no phone call and the store still shows it in stock (in the wrong location (only off by a bin but technically wrong -didn't bother me but should be fixed-but that is treated like their customer service). So I called to follow up and spoke Angel , who tried to tell me I needed to wait for them to call because they wouldn't call until it comes in stock. Well that did not sit well with me. So I explained to Angel that is not how customer service works (and he works in customer service). I explained to Angel if you tell a customer that you are ordering something that the customer wants and are telling that customer that the item is coming in on Saturday you need to call that customer on Saturday whether or not it comes in. That is customer service. His answer to me was he will check on it. He came and said it didn't come in yet and he spoke with Keith and his manager. They both have my contact information and they won't call me unless it comes in. That is their policy. And I said to Angel Walmart has it and will deliver it to me tomorro for no extra charge. And while I do not like supporting Walmart. At least they deliver it when they say they will. Their customer service which is poor is better than this Wegman's. Huge Disappointment!!! read more

I was excited to try Wegmans as I usually shop at Whole Foods but find it has a limited selection overall.My experience was less than wonderful; a large, confusing store layout, over-priced prepared foods of poor quality, (A chicken Caesar salad had a few pieces of cubed 'Gray-ish' chicken for $15.00), and when I went to buy a plant and asked to have it wrapped against the cold weather outside, I was informed there was none available and no attempt to help me, either. I won't be going back, the prices are high, the quality not what I expected and the customer service disappointing at best. read more

My wife and I went to Wegmen's to grab a bite to eat and do a little shopping. I got what they call a "Thanksgiving Bowl". When the women was finished making the bowl, it was barely 1/2 full. I showed it to my wife and she said to go back and ask for more (there were about 6 very small chunks of turkey in it). I took her advice and the young girls said she would need to charge me more. I said never mind. I should have just left it there and left the store. For $14 I got basically nothing. Obviously at Wegman's, the customer is not Always Right. Suffice it to say, I will never eat there again, and frankly, I will most likely never shop there again, especially with all the other super markets near by. Excellence in EVERY DIRECTION. Wegmans is the 21st Century Fiod Emporium That doesn't water the shoppers time! I am an 60+ hour a week professional in Healthcare. I prefer to shop for my own goods & simply don't have the time to visit multiple stores. Once I experience great service, products that are really appealing & and in an environment that elevates my mood, I am going literally, no where else but Wegmans for my home's food needs. This is the only store I Can Walk on, grab what I want & walk feeling great that I have accomplished everything I needed to do! Never thought I'd Fall In LOVE with a store, but THIS is it,baby! I'm not a wild crazy emotional actor, but a rational, thoughtfully considered physician & my clinical opinion is you must give this store a try. Their organics section & Health Supplements sections are 2nd to none! We are VERY LUCKY to have such a magnificent store landing in our midst. I have been delivering to Wegmans for quite awhile I have access to the back of the stores I leave the product in the kitchens sometimes on the dock.... I will tell you this company is probably the cleanest place I have ever delivered to the food is great but every store from nj to nc has been very clean well maintained and the employees really seem to like there job . The place is nice and there are great sales, but there are way too many employees in there standing in the middle of the place having casual conversations with their coworkers standing in the way of shoppers. Seemed as though a lot of the employees there today on opening day were kind of looking lost and just standing there, staring around not realizing that they were in everyone's ways. There was one lady stacking the desserts in the cooler area with another lady who clearly worked in the bakery area standing there talking to her. We were trying to get by and we said a simple excuse me to the lady... Not the one stacking them, but the one talking to her socializing about their lives out of work. Anyhow, she literally looked at us and responded with "find another way to go, there's not enough room for you here" we are the customers and you are standing in the middle of the shopping area socializing about nothing that has to do with your job or the store. Maybe she should've saved her conversation for later and practiced good customer service in the meantime. I believe that her job was positioned behind the counter, not in the front. The workers in the deli need to learn about cleanliness, I ordered a pound of sliced cheese. so just before the worker started slicing the cheese he wiped the snot off his runny nose with the gloves while he was slicing the cheese like it was normal. Then he piled a pound of cheese with no organization, because if the cheese isn't stacked properly then it becomes a glob of cheese and stuck together and almost impossible to take slices off. The worker is the tall middle aged white guy with a NY accent. I threw the cheese in the garbage in the store. The worker walked out from the back with the gloves on already so who knows where else those gloves have been? The workers should change their gloves after every order. I will continue to go to the stop and shop deli for cheese and whatever, they change their gloves and stack slices properly so they don't get stuck together. Stop and shop also have boar's head. I mentioned it to a worker at the customer service desk and she said sorry but really didn't ask any questions or cared.
