My favorite grocery store! Produce is nice and fresh. So many different varieties of food. Love all the Buffett bars and the cookie bar. You can buy a meal and eat there also. Tried again today. Great store, poor employee customer service, they need a new customer service manager. Upon entry, there was a food sampler lady, again, eating the samples. Ordered a wrap, had to ask for the olices, peppers, piclkes etc...Then lady argues with me, telling me theres a Wegmans in Albany, NY... we wish, but Price Chopper has the area locked.. gives me the wrap then says, 'here' forget any thank you, have a nice day, etc.. To top it off, we get a sarcastic senior gentleman cashier that basically yells at us because we didnt hit skip before putting our credit card in. Store is in need of customer service. On a positive note, all the Asian food we bought wss outstanding. read more

Amazing food! Very fair priced if you know your prices! They have largest selection of organic produce, and fresh meats! Meat department is always well stocked and employees are so helpful. The department manager is very knowledgable with his meat facts and cooking techniques. Always helpful. Also prepared foods is always fresh and interesting. The supermarket is good -- five stars. My zero-start rating (if Yelp would accept that) is of the LIQUOR store. Don't go there. Not only are their prices nothing exceptional, their ID policy sucks. I'm in my 60's and look it. There's NO reason to check my ID, but they do. But my problem is with HOW they check my ID. I showed my NJ driver's license only to have it snatched from my hand, purportedly so the checker could read it -- but then he entered my birth date into the computer/cash register. A person's birth date is one of the key pieces of information used byidentity theives. Wegman's has no need for anything but my birth YEAR. When I objected, I was treated coldly and rudely. The service desk at the supermarket refused to accept my complaint. I will NEVER shop at this liquor store again. read more

I must agree with a few of the comments regarding the Ocean Wegman's. I drive from Toms River to shop and lately I've been finding many out of stock items. Organic fruit is not always available and often it looks a day or so past its prime. I find myself stopping at Whole Foods on the way home for their fruit which is always plentiful and great selection. I do like being able to get ground bison and bison steaks at Wegman's as I cannot eat beef. I also enjoy the ground lamb (when it's in stock.) read more

I really need to work at Wegmans. I spend so much time in that store until it's a shame. I'm literally in that store every day. Love the fresh veggies and fruit. The quality in the food is amazing. This is the 5th time I have been overcharged at Wegmans in Ocean Township. When they run a sale I have found that they charge you full price at the register. The yellow sale tag isn't what is rung up. I find this to be very true in their Natural and Organic area. Consumer beware. read more

i love wegmans. it's the best grocery store i've ever been to (and women be shoppin!) it's a bit more expensive than shoprite but it's so worth it once you walk inside! they have EVERYTHING! literally EVERYTHING. Bakery, sandwich shop, pizza, coffee, sushi, florist, organic section, cheese shop, oh yeah, and GROCERIES! it's kinda like target for me, though. you walk in expecting to buy a few things and get out fast, but it sucks you in and you end up spending $100 on organic pretzels and daisies. read more

We drive all the way from LBI area to shop here on occassion.It`s clean and big and can be a bit hectic at peak times.Has an adjacent `related` liquor store that has good pricing. This store is HUGE. As typical in most Wegmans, the one thing I don`t like is the hodge podge of locations 1 thing can be.If you need marinara sauce, you can get it in the `ethnic` section,then again in the `organic` part,again in the `normal grocery area` and also maybe in the cheese area.Same goes for pastas. In this sense I don`t like Wegmans layout.In the sense of adventure I like the layout if its slow the day I go. They focus alot on `house` brands and often have great deals..The prciing for everyday grocery has become more competitive w/shop rite etc although when you are not in `house brands` the `national brand` selection is usually limited. Back to this store, I guess perhaps because of the proximity to some of my friends of the chosen faith, they seem to have a `good` selection of Kosher, and also Kosher imported from Bklyn bakery goods which are always fresh.(I am not a chosen person but appreciate all types food). The sampling stations in this store are hit and miss an not as bountiful as my visits to other stores (the Mt Laurel loc seems to have a better sampling array). In general Wegmans is a top flight store with pricing on par with anyone else and less than Whole Foods on alot of the organics. Wegman's is great, it's not that convenient to me, I'm between the Ocean & Woodbridge, otherwise I would be there a lot more. Excellent produce and if you shop the sale items, it's not too expensive. Lots of samples if you go there during the day, not too much later. The store brand is excellent, have not been disappointed with any of the Wegmans' brand. The prepared food is kind of pricey, but looks awesome. I highly recommend the bacon burgers, cooked bacon is crumbled up right in the hamburger, soooooooo good! read more

Great veggies, meat seafood, deli, cafe and prepared foods like sushi and salads. 25 minutes from home, but well worth the trip.

What a wonderful store!! Especially love the bakery. Excellent black & white cookies, mini cupcakes, rolls, etc. Also love the deli, produce & meat departments. Love the soup & salad bar too. Their pasta sauces are great as well as their pastas. What a first class quality food store! Love it & I travel 35 minutes to get there which I don't mind...it's definitely worth the trip. read more

Wegmans in Ocean twp has lost its competitive edge. Especially when it comes to prepared foods or hot buffet. There prepared food options have been completely stagnant for over two years now. Exactly the same mediocre meals day-after-day with absolutely no variety. The hot foods buffet is equally boring and almost inedible. Tasteless food sits there untouched for hours and looks awful. Wegmans really needs to make a major overhaul when it comes to their prepared meals and hot food buffet in the Ocean store. Given that the Ocean store still draws quite a large crowd, I guess that Wegmans feels no need to be competitive or offer quality and longer. Perhaps, when the Whole Foods opens in Wall they might get back in the game. read more

What have they done?!?!?!? If you had asked me last month before all of the changes, I would have told you that the Ocean, NJ Wegmans was the best place on Earth. Even though it is huge, I knew where everything was. Everything had it's own little nook. Everything made sense. Everything looked BEAUTIFUL. Health and beauty, Cards and Books. Seasonal. EVERYTHING made sense. I walked in a few weeks ago and everything has changed. Nothing makes sense. Instead of being an appealing place to shop they have succeeded in making it an ugly grocery store that looks just like every other suburb market. 3 visits later and even with the hand printed list that they have 50 employees handing out, everyone is walking around lost. A note to the Wegman's geniuses that fixed something that was NOT broken. When you have to put cute guys at the door dressed up in a tuxedo at the front door to try to overcome the horrible mistake you have made, there is no turning back. I think I am going to find a new grocery store to shop at. read more

I love this store. The produce section could be set up differently but they have a lot of food. The pre made section is unlike anything I have ever seen and they have a lot of "ready to cook" dinners that are amazing. My favorite is the salmon with tomatoes!!!!!! read more

Best Seafood Market in the area. The guy with the tattoos on his arms Knows alot about the fish they sell. He helps me every time I go. I know it's weird with all the Seafood markets in the area that I go here, but these are the only guys that take the time to explain everything to me and they really know whats going on in the sea. read more

I love shopping here there is so much to choose from and I love that they offer products that you would otherwise have to drive to a specialty store far for. I love their sweet potato sushi rolls and I'm constantly buying ground strip steak which is really inexpensive. The whole staff is very friendly and they seem to really like working here as they all take pride in their work. I will be a very longtime customer! read more

Wegman's made me actually enjoy grocery shopping. Their prices are consistently low (I've price checked other stores in the area), their staff friendly and helpful (if you ask they even help take your groceries to the car). Wegmans is humongous and has everything you need. The staff are nice and funny. I recommend this place for your weekly shopping.

Purchased 2 Filet Mignons in the twin pack at $21.99 per pound. After opening pack the filets fell apart and had to put toothpicks into them to hold together. Shop there every week and this is not right. Expect better quality. read more

I am a regular and frequent shopper at Wegmans of Ocean Twp, NJ and I really do like the store. I have plenty of options around my area. My complaint is about the subs. Occasionally, I get a turkey sub here. They have always been pretty good. Today I ordered a medium turkey sub with all the usual stuff. I saw the girl weighing the turkey on a scale and thought perhaps the amount of turkey she had was only for half of what I ordered. Well, I get home and go to eat my lunch, and there really is hardly any turkey in it at all. Understand, I am not someone who likes a ton of meat on a sub but at least enough to taste it and/or see it when I take a bite. This sub was pitiful for over $5. Almost as bad as a Wawa sub. Shop Rite is much better. I normally don't post on Yelp but I guess I am just so sick of every business charging more and giving less. Enough!! I will go elsewhere for sandwiches/subs, but will continue to shop here otherwise. read more
