I have been going to her for 26 years, starting when I was in my early 20's. Taj gives fabulous advice and her cuts/styles are impeccable. Always up on the latest trends Taj will let you know if a cut will work for you or not. When you walk into Taj's salon she and the staff, Donna and Sara, are very warm and inviting. Taj is like the sister I never had and I love her as one. I have moved from NY to CT and now in MA and I have never, ever given one thought to even trying to find another stylist. I don't have to. I've have plenty of bad ones while I was growing up. Something I truly admire about Taj is her caring about the environment and going green. Her organic products are the best and are priced reasonably. She does not try to push products on you but will recommend ones if asked. Do yourself a favor and go see Taj. The way she blends the colors and attaches the bonds with my real hair is seamless and looks naturally stunning. People compliment me all the time not realizing it's not my real hair. I was required to pay for my services up front. I did have a lovely conversation so the proprietor and felt comfortable. However the more I thought about my upcoming appointment I got really uncomfortable. To pay $175 for a service I didn't receive yet from a stylist I only met over the phone just really sat with me wrong. I understand a deposit and if I don't show well of course it is forfeited. I've gone to businesses all over the northeast. Not one has asked me to pay for services ahead of time. I explained this to the business and I do understand there policy. But if this is how business is done in Troy NY I will continue to travel outside of the area for my haircare services. I go to a local Colonie salon for my nails and they have never asked for payment prior to. It's very Heartbreaking that a salon that caters to ethnic hair requires this however when I go to a white salon or in this case a Latin salon they don't require it and I still get the same individual treatment that I would've gotten if I would've gone out of the area my people have to do better
