Prior to booking, I specifically inquired whether the condo was newly renovated, newly listed, beachfront, and whether the rental matched the listing photos exactly. The co-hosts (Sofia & Daniel / Enviro) confirmed it was "newly listed," assured me it was "right on the beach," and explicitly stated, "Yes, it is!" when asked if the rental looked exactly as pictured. They directed beach/pool food and beverage service questions to the resort while promising a high-standard experience. Upon check-in, the unit was in unacceptable condition and bore no resemblance to the advertised or photographed state: sticky and visibly dirty floors within minutes of entry, hairs throughout the bedding, worn cabinet doors not hanging properly, and an overall tired, un-renovated appearance inconsistent with any claim of recent updates or quality maintenance. This was not the "newly renovated" or pristine beachfront condo promised. I immediately reported the issues with photos and video, requested an alternate unit, and authorized housekeeping access. The team repeatedly apologized, claimed they were escalating and sending cleaning staff, yet no crew arrived the same day despite confirmation. A subsequent visit (later described as "maintenance assistance") occurred without proper coordination, and cleaning was only vaguely "scheduled for tomorrow." No meaningful resolution was provided. After three nights of an uninhabitable stay, my family and I checked out early on March 31, 2026. We Host Group initially offered only a partial refund for unused nights and has since delayed and disputed the shortened stay record, refusing to address the full financial impact (including $1,000 in flight change fees). This despite documented evidence of the misrepresented condition, multiple support requests, and their own guest-protection references (e.g., Waivo insurance). Repeated outreach, including my professional background in managing large teams and delivering customer experiences, elicited only generic apologies and further delays. We Host Group's marketing emphasizes "meticulously managed properties," "happy guests," "top reviews," and 24/7 support, yet this experience demonstrates clear misrepresentation of the unit's actual condition, inadequate on-site management (independent of the Lyfe Hotel but charging resort fees and requiring separate valet/parking), and a pattern of unfulfilled commitments. Guests should independently verify current property photos, read recent reviews, and consider alternative managers. I have preserved all correspondence, timestamps, photos, and video evidence. Avoid renting from this company at all costs. I rented a vacation home owned by them in Arlington, VA through VRBO and the rental was infested with cockroaches (see attached). We ended up having to find new accommodations and move out of the rental on Thanksgiving morning. To make matters worse weHost uses an off site service platform--it's not clear that the staff you talk with are even located in the U.S. So, when there is a serious issue like say a cockroach infestation you will not be able to get it solved quickly. It took me several hours to get a clear response from staff when I reported the incident and asked to leave the rental early. I was able to secure a refund through VRBO but weHost barely so much as apologized for the situation. As we were leaving they did send a maintenance person with what appeared to be glue traps, but that's no match for an infestation. I also realized that once I got the refund through VRBO my stay was marked as cancelled and I lost the ability to review the property. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens a fair amount, which masks the number of guests that are having negative experiences. please do not rent from this organization , we stayed at a property in Arlington VA, the building was beautiful state of the art great amenities until you open the door to the apartment , it was like going back in time. the place is roach infested, I was told maintenance people were coming the following day, they were pest control people. My family could not sleep we stayed a couple of hours had to put my bags in the car so nothing would crawl in them. Checked in at 11 pm, sat in chairs until 4 am when I was able to find other accommodations. We are still fighting for a full refund with the host, as they did not issue a full refund. We booked a 5 day stay in room 1110 at Lyfe residences in Hollywood Florida through VRBO via Expedia. Check in was 2/28/26-3/5/26. When we arrived on 2/28/26 at around 12:30 pm we were told we could not check in early and the room would be ready by 4 pm which was check in time. When we were ready to go to the room at 4 pm the wristbands they gave us did not work. We had to find someone to re-program them. When we finally got to the room about 4:15 p,m. the room had not been touched to be cleaned. They had dirty dishes in the sink, the counter was filthy, there was garbage left everywhere and the woman who was to clean was standing in the room and said it was not ready. We were with a Bell hop named Juan who helped with our luggage. A man from the hotel came up and made multiple trips into the room and emptied garbage from the room. I tried to call Expedia, Which was where I went to find the hotel online originally, no one came on the line. I also tried to call the property managers number (she called me earlier to say we could not check in until 4 pm so I had the number in my phone), she did not answer. My husband went downstairs to speak to someone at the front desk and they confirmed the room was not ready and wouldn't be for a while. We were tired from traveling all morning and then having to wait around for 4 hours and still not having our room ready for a few more hours was not acceptable. My husband went downstairs to speak to the front desk people while I waited with Juan, the luggage and 2 bikes they would not let us store anywhere but the room. The contract is 4 pm check in and they failed to abide by that time so my husband asked for a full refund at the front desk. They told him he would be refunded and then took us outside to the valet and had him refund those charges Too. I had to re-attach the bike rack to my truck, Re-load my car of all luggage, and re-attach the 2 bikes to the bike rack and we left thinking the situation had been handled. When we got home we checked our Citi card and the resort fees, VRBO fees and the fees for the hotel were not refunded. The fees for the valet were refunded to another credit card. I called Expedia who sent me to VRBO who sent me to the property management company, (Wehost) as well as to Lyfe Residences. I have spoken to each of these entities multiple times for hours trying to get them to do the right thing and refund our money but have not been successful. I have another dispute for the cost of the room which was $1689.35, VRBO said it is up to Wehost to refund our money even though we made the reservation through VRBO. When I spoke to CJ at We host she said they would not refund our money as the room was ready at 1pm. When I told her I had an email from them saying the room was not ready until 4 pm she said she would get back to me. She finally admitted the room was not ready at 4 pm but said we should have waited until it was ready and they would not be refunding our money. I feel that this is unfair and they did not uphold their contract to have the room ready by 4 pm so all monies should be refunded to us. This was not anything we did or any fault of ours so why are they allowed to steal people's money? I hope that Citi has our best interests in mind and will hold them responsible for this and fully refund us our money. I had booked an apartment from Wehost in Washington DC, Crystal City. While planning a family vacation to Washington DC, I found an apartment on Expedia. It was a listing for "Restful Stay in DC Apartments". The photos looked to be a good fit for our family of five and clean. It showed good reviews on Expedia. I booked the apartment for 5 nights for our summer vacation. The day before the trip I received an email from Wehost, who is in the renting agency of the apartment. The day before check in they emailed saying I would need to pay an additional fee of 10$ a day per person (for only 2 people maximum) to use the pool at the apartment. As a family of 5 this pool was originally part of the selling point. It would cost an extra 100$ and only 2 of the 5 in our family were allowed to use pool on property?!? This was an added undisclosed fee. The listing upon booking stated pool was an amenity. There was ZERO mention paying more money for the pool upon checking in. This is a breach of the FTC Ruling that went into effect on May 12, 2025 of unfair and deceptive fees pricing tactics by short term leasing agencies. Unfortunately, my experience with this apartment only gets worse. When we checked in we noticed the lobby was extremely old and not what pictures presented online. They had cockroaches on the floor. When we got on the floor of the apartment it smelled of marijuana. Upon proceeding into the apartment we discovered photos in listing were misleading and I had been scammed. The apartment was filthy, dated and smelled. I immediately checked beds for cleanliness. We discovered bedbugs, hair and finger/toenail clippings in bedding! After discovering the bedbugs we immediately vacated the room and returned the key to the "keycafe". I have reported to Expedia (who I booked the trip through) and they were unable to ratify the situation. I have had zero response from Wehost and I was scammed. I feel so stupid because digging deeper I discovered this is a reoccurring problem with this company. I will also never use Expedia again. We rented an apartment there for the weekend from We Host Group in the Crystal Towers complex. Upon arrival to the apartment the door knob wasn't working correctly and it took about 4 minutes to enter. The entire apartment smelled like cigarettes, there was hair all over the bathroom floors, public hair on the pillows, kitchen floor was dirty and sticky, AND animal feces on the carpet in the living room. In addition their "fully stocked kitchen" consisted of 1 pot, one small frying pan, 2 spatulas, 4 bowls and 4 plates. While I know this isn't a reflection on the actual property management of the long term residential apartments, I feel they should know that this company is destroying their brand and reputation. We reported the issues, mainly highlighting the unsanitary aspect of the diarrhea on the carpet, and the company refused to swap our unit or come clean the apartment. BEWARE of renting any Airbnb properties from weHost. They are not kindly hosts. Their units are cheaply furnished and maintained primarily for the purpose of maximizing profits for the corporation, with little regard for the enjoyment or comfort of the guests. We rented a 2 bedroom unit on the 3rd floor within a high rise residential building in the DC area. The morning after we checked in there was loud banging above our unit so loud that we could not hear each other speak. Turns out weHost rented the apartment to us knowing that there would be demolition construction work going on right above our unit during our stay. I called weHost and they said they would check into it. They said they would call me back within an hour (hopefully with some resolution). Instead, I received an email with an apology. They reported that they was no other available units in the area that they could move us to. Bottom line---- THEY DID NOTHING to alleviate the situation. They did not even offer to refund our money, so that we could find another place. The unit was old, stained counters and kitchen/bathroom sinks, poorly cleaned, not enough towels or drinking glasses. I would never recommend Whost. This company does not respond and was one of the WORST experiences I have ever had! In hot Miami, the house was kept on 76 degrees, the refrigerator didn't work and spoiled our food and the stove did not work. I attempted to contact the person that introduced himself right before checkin and could not reach him until the day we checked out. His name was Rafael. Once I spoke to him, after checking out and told him the issues with the property, he said he would need speak with the supervisor. Her name was Johanne. She said I would not be refunded anything because I received assistance. This was a bold face lie. I was skeptical of the company from the beginning. No one in their website was at the phone number. Worst Airbnb Company We needed to rent an Airbnb since my son was getting shoulder surgery for a football injury he had in the beginning of last year's season. So we ended up getting one from December 3-December 22,2023 in Arlington VA. Our experience was so bad I never want to stay at another Airbnb. First and last time. Since the first day we arrived they told us we couldn't go in because they were cleaning the apartment. Once we were allowed to get the key and enter it was when the nightmare started. To begin, it was supposed to be clean. My shoes were sticking to the floor because of the film on it which gave away that the floors were dirty. Dust was everywhere, the bathrooms had pubic hair everywhere, there was a bucket with a dirty wet mop in the closet, the laundry room had a horrendous smell that was a result of dirty water and a dirty mop just laying in the washer. I was so disgusted by this that I decided to look at the sheets. They were also dirty and smelly. Bottom line on the first day I had to buy cleaning supplies to clean the apartment and wash until 3am. Next day we bought groceries and realized there were no utensils, working knives, kitchen and bath towels as was stated. We ended up needing to purchase them in the hopes we. Old leave them in the dorms after we checked out. There was a leaks in the main bathroom sink and kitchen sink which we solved with towels. There was very little water pressure. Once I was able to get everything in order it was ok except for the sofa I had to sleep in so I could help my son get up from the rental recliner, which was made of rubber. Yes I slept on a rubber sofa for 3 1/2 weeks. Then to make it worse, they towed our rental because of their incompetence and they didn't reimbursed us whatsoever. Which was their fault since they were supposed to give us the parking space for almost a month. That's what we agreed and paid for. I'm just trying to warn people about this W-Host Group. I have an Airbnb reservation with WeHost at $103 per night for 3 nights. We'd like to add a fourth night, and to do so, they're trying to charge us $130 per night for all four nights. If we keep it to 3 nights, it's $103 per night for 3 nights. This is RIDICULOUS. It's a Sunday night we're trying to add, which is not a common night to book. This makes ZERO sense. There is ZERO customer service. Just get automated messages that they cannot help over and over again. This is so sad. I would leave a negative start if I could. I had booked in Arlington. When i checked in there was pubic hair and head hair on the bathroom floor as well as a bed not properly put together. It made it appear that the room had not been cleaned. Simply the bed cover pulled up and two towels put on the bed. They are refusing to give me my money back. They refused to clean the room the same day i checked in and they refused to put me in another room. I was forced to book in a hotel as I was not willing to stay in a filthy room. They have refused to credit me and not charge for the week there even though i clearly didn't stay there. Their investigation showed I did. Was it due to their dirty room. They demanded our photos of our IDs before check in even though we are verified through Airbnb and was not a state or building legal requirement. Then, we got a notice of a data breach and are having to now pay for ID theft monitoring out of pocket because of their carelessness. They told us "not to worry about it" as if it was not an huge issue that our SPI was not compromised. Their check in instructions said the parking was $20, was charged $30. The check in instructions said that we could request an early check in, they refused to accommodate when asking the day before even thought he unit still showed available because they wanted to accommodate a last minute guest. Instead I requested to change my reservation to include the day before to avoid needing an early check in that likely wouldn't happen based on the experience I was having with customer service. It made the stay 195.37 cheaper through the booking site I am assuming because more days are a lesser rate. They denied the request I sent and they sent a new one for the same dates but 279 more saying they couldn't refund us and we needed to pay more even though the system said we were owed money back. Upon check in the unit was 84 degrees and our AC never worked on which put us at risk for heat related health hazards. We notified the condo front desk and the host and neither fixed or compensated for the issue and we were not offered another unit even though they have many within the building. There was hair in the towels and in the shower and for 3 people we were only given one supposedly clean one for three people. No offer to clean the unit was made. The washer had an E6 error code that when trying to use would not work. So two amenities listed were broken. There was food in the sink drain and it smelt awful but again no offer to fix this issue was made. Finally the pictures were not like the unit and for example the paint on the doors were peeling and flaking off as if to indicate possible lead based which is toxic especially for an infant. I notified WeHost of everything and their only response was an apology, a discount on our next stay with them and a fifty dollar refund which did not even touch the 737 booking and 90 in parking we paid. And we would NEVER stay at ANY location they have. Per Airbnb support, I am entitled to a refund. AirCover is in place to protect guests and there was 2 areas which is unclean or unsanitary or hazardous conditions AND amenities not working such as major appliances and air conditioning, in which case within their guidelines stated that I should have a FULL refund. They are only offering a partial refund because we stayed however it was a big motorcycle event weekend and every location within a 10 minute commute was booked full so we had no other option. Air over guidelines do not state staying for the booking means less reimbursement and when I told them this they went silent and no refund was given. I called my credit card company and explained the host is denying a refund and Aircover clearly states my circumstances grant me a refund and they said to file a claim and they would get me my full refund. I have reported a BBB complaint, one star reviews on every site they are on, and disputed the transaction. If you see them as the host, do yourself a favor and RUN. I've seen reviews that have roaches, not working toilets and fridges and dirty dishes and floors. So I'm not the only one. But I hope I influence at least 1 of their potential stayers to go ANYWHERE else! read more

We were in the Washington DC area and rented a VRBO up on the hill above Arlington in Rosslyn, managed by Wehost. The name of the apartment building is Whispering Oaks. The day we arrived, they told us to enter the parking lot on right side of building and park in space 1. We then had to go upstairs to our apt and get parking permit to hang on mirror. There was a car parked in space 1. we put the car in space 2 immediately went upstairs and called Wehost, told them of our problem and they assured us they would "contact the property mgr. and let us know with a return call if there was a problem. Meanwhile, inside the apt. the AC would not work. Only the heat. We tried to turn it off. When the temp in the apt reached 92 we opened the windows and called wehost... they said to turn off the breakers That they were sorry but AC couldn't be used until May 1st... Later we turned the breakers back on to hopefully run just the fans for a little ventilation before bed... 86 in the apt. The next morning again, the heat was running and bedroom temp was 93 while living area was 92.;.. Called wehost. They said "Nothing we can do. The AC situation is listed in the posting!" We turned all systems Off and just lived with the heat. It was so bad that random owners and renters were posting notes in the elevator literally begging for the building to turn on some AC The following day, when we returned to the apt., spaces 1 & 2 were occupied. We parked as close as possible to our space 1 and immediately went upstairs and again called Wehost to explain our dilemma. They assured us they would "contact property mgmt." and give us a return call if there was a problem. We did not receive a call. The next day, we rode the Metro into town and when we returned, space 1 was open. I went upstairs to get my keys and returned to the parking lot to park in space 1 WHERE WEHOST TOLD US TO PARK. When I got to the parking lot, my car was gone. It had been towed. I called Wehost. They sent me a picture of a covered garage back behind the building and asked if that was where I was parked. Space 1 is the first spot next to the sidewalk... why would i ASSUME THAT i WAS SUPPOSED TO GO AROUND THE BUILDING AND LOOK FOR ANOTHER COVERED SPACE 1 (which btw, has a NO PARKING ANY TIME) placed on it. I told We host that no one told me to go around the building looking for a covered space. They basically said, "Sorry, you parked in wrong space, Nothing we can do. I called VRBO. they assured me they would get right on it and call me back. They never called. I called the next morning and VRBO had no record that I had called. I explained that I was on my way on the train to retrieve my car and rehashed everything I had told them the night before... I again was assured that they would get right on it and call me back. Again NO ONE from VRBO returned our call. The car was towed Wed. evening. We spent most of the day Thursday retrieving our car and talking to anyone who would listen at VRBO and Wehost about our problem. We were assured again that they were very Sorry and they would return our call as soon as possible. VRBO never did. Finally We host on Fri. April 19 admitted that they gave us incorrect parking instructions and they again were very sorry and they agreed to refund the $185 cost of the tow. within 3-5 business days. They would also send us a VIP discount code for a future stay. We got the discount code within a day or so... in that msg., were told the refund would be sent within 1 to 3 business days. That was by email on 4/22 six days and lots of unreturned phone calls later. 4/22 they requested my Zelle info 4/29 lots of phone calls later, they confirmed Zelle info 5/2 Assured me they would send my $$ ASAP Meanwhile, I got a msg from VRBO that said they were sorry but they had "Thoroughly researched our problem" and found that we were supposed to pay a parking fee... Infuriating!! reply from them... after several more calls to VRBO and a rather scathing post for them on facebook, They decided to send me $100 for my trouble and inconvenience! Wow.... After phone calls again Mon. and Tuesday... Wehost sent me a Zelle deposit of $185. Twenty - one days and Fifteen "business days after my car was towed because of their Failure to give me correct parking information and then their failure to follow through on their promise to "Check with property management" as they told me they would. Top it off today with another terrible wehost review on this site today from another guest in what appears to be the same apt building with a picture of the same tow yard... this stuff must be standard practice for Wehost...
