I came in for the booze selection, not these, but it was cool seeing this piece of American history pretty well preserved with each piece on sale for $4.99 each. On to the booze. If you're looking for the garden variety goods, they've got it in spades. The selection was a bit broader than I had anticipated, in a good way. We found some nice ranges from the bigger distillers and behind the counter we spotted a handful of semi-allocated bottles, like Dickel Bottled In Bond and Nikka Coffey Grain, but nothing crazy. Staff wasn't too helpful and the store was a old, tired, and a little disheveled, but that's not important when you know what you're after. The part I didn't love was the lack of COVID compliance here. I understand everyone has their views but I'd like to be part of the solution and do what I can to help. I didn't observe staff in masks or any other protocols in place. To each their own, but it did put me off quite a bit. All in all, just your neighborhood liquor store!

I had the idea to come in to Newcastle Wine Shoppe & thought on a whim maybe they'd have some non-alcoholic wine. Although it was not a usual request for frequenters there, some people inside were very quick to help me and find what I was looking for. They were able to find the only non-alcoholic option somewhere in the back after looking for a while and phoning in someone who had insight on where it was. The inside was also nice as well and part of the large building that La Fornaretta is in. There's a bar area and some tables where some people were having some conversation and some light music playing. Everyone was very helpful and I appreciated my experience a lot.

It has been family owned for decades and they made me feel so comfortable, but I was not there to shop around. I was there to try the food goods created by the smoker and whoever does this delicious array of foods. There were many options to choose from in their heated display case. Burgers, breakfast burritos, brisket sandwiches, ribs... I think there were a couple more options, but I couldn't decide on one. So I went with some smoked pork ribs and a brisket sandwich. It was $28 & change. It felt a little on the expensive side for 4 ribs and a sandwich. However... it was damn delicious!! When I got home, I did add a little salt, pepper, & mayo in the brisket sandwich... and then for me, it was fire! The smoked pork ribs were soooo goooood with the dry rub that was on them. Tender and juicy ribs... mmmm! I'm not sure if sauced ones were available, but I really liked these the way they were. Evidently the owner had passed the month before we discovered her market. The gal tending to the store was phenomenal and so accommodating! I'm not a fan of premade hot sandwiches and she was great about making me one made-to-order. It took a bit as she was manning two jobs, but wow was it worth it. Brisket sandwich to go take to the cemetery to visit my mom. I really hope they remain open with the same service an true quality of food. The potato salad was also perfect. Not the sweet, sloppy stuff, true homemade fresh potato salad.

I just needed some tortillas and it was raining with very high winds and I didn't want to travel that far. So on a lark I thought I'd try this convenience store assuming tortillas may not be what they carry. Well, low and behold right there in the small bread section were packages of tortillas, both flour and corn! Yes, they are on the pricey side but for the opportunity to not have tree limbs fall on me this worked out just fine. At first glance this small store appears to be only wine, beer and snacks but if you really need something in a hurry check it out. There isn't a lot of variety of product but they do carry a multitude of items.
