Very rude lady that guards the door like she's a bouncer at a nightclub needs to take class on customer service. I thought BevMo was a place you purchased alcohol like in the store setting having some burly lady guard the door like she's a bouncer at a bar seems kind of awkward to me. I asked her for a product that I always buy at the store her reply was "NO! We don't carry that" I buy them here all the time. " NOPE! We DONT HAVE THEM! ITS A FACTORY THING". Then one of the nicer employees brings up the product that I was looking for. Really? Horrible store. Bought some whiskey online and drove the next day from Sacramento to Auburn to pick it up and they did not have it. Giving BevMo 4 stars because it is the best place in Auburn to get alcohol. They have a decent selection of beers, but I wish that they would consider carrying some new craft brews more often. My buddy from Colorado sends me beer recommendations that his local store is selling. Whenever I go into Bevmo to see if they carry it, they never have it. They do have some killer deals on booze and wine. I bought a 750ml bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label last week, and it was $21! Yes, I still have a little bit left in the bottle. Staff is great. They are very knowledgeable and willing to help out whenever I have any questions. Be weary of the parking, it is kind of a weird layout now. There are parking spots right in front of a three way stop and I have seen several near-miss fender benders. read more

I love Bevmo. I always get excited when I walk in. I usually skip the wine section, which unfortunately is a large part of the store. But the rest of the store is filled with plenty of goodies. I get particularly excited when I walk around the vodka section, I don't know why. The beer is always plentiful, fresh. The prices are good, especially with a club bevmo card. Although I wouldn't stock up for a wedding here (I would probably use costco) it's my go to. read more

In a December review I found their prices on most items I checked higher than even CVS by 2 to 4 dollars (750Ml) ...for example: Baileys, Grey Goose and Chandon Champagne. They do have a relly good selection just don't think you are always getting a deal better than the neighborhood drug store liquor department at CVS. Also, one of the cashiers in the Auburn California store gave me a rude price check .... I learned the discount posted on the shelves ("addition $2 off") only shows up when and if you checkout. She had no idea about that. I did get the advertised discount ... no fraud there ...just an untrained and rude clerk. The person who represented herself as the store manager (Nora D.) claimed everyone was perfectly trained .... apparently BevMo does not like customer feedback or ???? read more

By saying this is my favorite BevMo might hint to some dependency issues but this place has so many delicious offerings. Everything from nacks, cheeses and chocolate to decent cigars and adult beverages for every taste preference. The staff are always helpful and engaging but not too anoyying about it. read more

While the beer selection is not as vast as Total Wine, this is still an excellent Bevmo location that is larger in size than some others I've visited recently. The store is laid out well and the employee who rang me up was friendly and also greeted me when I walked in the store. This store is an upgrade from some of the smaller ones I've been to in the bay area.....overall I'd say this is an excellent place for wine and beer in the Auburn area. Pricing, like all Bevmo's, could be sharper and that is especially true on liquor items. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. The two cashiers were HORRIBLE AND RUDE. Both tried to fight me on buying soda. One sent my sister outside even to wait just to tell me I couldn't purchase my soda. I've been in there many many times to buy just soda and never had an issue. then one cashier told me where else I could buy the soda I was purchasing as if to send my business else where. We made a pit stop here on our way up to Forrest Hill. Everything went fine, their selection was the usual, same layout... all that stuff until we were checking out. While my friends purchased their alcohol the cashier asked me for my ID. I was not purchasing alcohol nor did I even intend to drink that night. I didn't even have my wallet on me. The cashier and manager rudely exclaimed that, "it's the law" BUT they can make an exception this time. What I don't understand is that if it's such an important "law" why were they willing let it slide? That's like asking everyone at a table in a restaurant for an ID when one person orders a beer. Do they card children that parents bring in with them? I've been into Bevmo's before and have never been carded when friends are purchasing alcohol. I always want to dislike BevMo: stupid name, corporate, BevMo cards you have to sign up for to get the cheapest price. But I was up in A-town from San Diego for Christmas and I go in to check it out just to see if they have different stuff that we do at the ones in SoCal. And but so I'm walking through the aisles and there as plain as day they have Stone's 12th freaking Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Stout, a beer that hasn't been available for four months. As I'm checking out, the cashier is the manager and told me that he's been rationing this exceptional beer and has two more cases in the back that he will be slowly putting for sale. I bought two bombers because I couldn't carry more than that in my luggage. The rest of their stock was also very good, but that they know, respect, and love really good beer. The Auburn store and other BevMo's in Sacramento have higher prices on some products. For example, Stones Matt Burning Rosid beer is listed on the BevMo site for $6.89, but the Auburn store sells it for $7.99. Plus, they no longer have a price match policy. I am a longtime customer from their first store in Concord, but I am taking my business elsewhere. Total Wines in Roseville has better prices on the products I buy. read more

This is the place to go for a large selection of beers and wines and liquors. I just love walking around in here looking at all they have to offer. It's true they have to "scan" your ID when you check out, even if you're not even buying anything or drinking... it's apparently the law. Oh well... it's kinda a hassle to have to pull out the license along with the BevMo card and the credit card (sorry, but I don't like to take up extra time when I'm checking out - I just like to do it and go) but whatever, it's not that big of a deal. The staff is always "meh" here - that's really all I have to say. They're not rude, they're not overly nice, they're just there, really. I keep going back to get my husband's favorite beer and for the sweet 5 cent wine sale. If they didn't have such a great selection, I really probably wouldn't bother going back too much. read more

Today I went to buy a bottle of good champagne as it is New Year's Eve. Bev Mo had substituted regular champagne in the special edition boxes. On the regular bottles they scanned the box instead of the bottle. The special edition bottles were sold separately. When I brought it to their attention they denied that they had substituted the regular for the special edition. It was not just one, I checked other boxes and found the regular in the special edition boxes. I won't be shopping at BevMo again. Buyers beware. read more

The Bevmo store in Auburn does not match prices with Total Wine and More, even though they tell you they do. I was told they would match the prices on Corona Extra but the lady, might have been the manager, told me that I must have gotten the price of some flyer, but I had the coupon in my hand. She then said that was a club member deal. The advertisement came in the mail. This is the second time they have not honored their word. I will be buying my liquor at Total Wine and More in Roseville from now on. read more

BEWARE OF JUDY! GO TO TOTAL WINE. CHEAPER AND FRIENDLIER! As of today I will not be visiting bevmo for any further purchases. I am surprised that a reputable company like bevmo would allow such a rude and unhelpful employee to represent their brand. I have dealt with many excellent employees at this location which I frequent regularly, however, Judy is unfortunately a horrible exception. When returning a keg that was very heavy and still full she refused to have someone bring the dolly out and help and when I advised her that I had it waiting outside and needed help she said "bring it in yourself." Once in the store she rudely shamed us for not finishing the keg. Her attitude and unhelpful nature I would think would be unacceptable to bevmos standards. My husband a retired police officer who was hurt in the line of duty causing 2 major back surgeries had to hurt himself bringing it in! Unacceptable. read more

I was very disappointed when me and my husband and his friend came into bev mo to buy a couple beers the other night. When we walked into the aisle where the beer was we had an employee approach us and said it was a random security check and he needed to see all of our Id's. OK that's not that unreasonable even though nobody else got carded while shopping in the store until check out. I went in my purse to grab my ID but of course I had forgotten my it in my other purse at home. So I told them I would just leave and go wait out in the car. They refused to let my husband or our friend buy any alcohol even though they showed their ID's. As we were getting ready to leave they had another employee come "back" the other guy up even though none of us were being confrontational. I guess to make sure we were going to leave. It was just not a very good experience and even though they have good prices it ruined my night. I live in Grass valley which is half an hour away so it was very disappointing to have to turn around and leave empty handed :(. Lets just say I wont be coming back. read more

I've experienced better. Total wine, Costco, trader joes and even Safeway have better deals. I was buying a particular Cabernet and saw that it was on their 5 cent sale list but when I compared the price I was paying it was the same. They were selling it at a discount price and when they did the 5 cent sale they jacked the price up to full price so the net was it was the same price. Not much of a sale. Their asiles are very tight where two carts can't get by and they always have boxes in a couple of asiles making them dead ends. I got a discount card and also received a discount postcard based on purchases. For awhile they would honor both but then on my last visit they said I had to chose one? I felt the discount card was because I was a loyal customer and the postcard discount was based on purchases, the combined two put them on par with total wine prices but now that I had to pick one, the discount didn't come close to other stores.
