Wonderful dinner with friends this evening. Yes, we had fondue and it was delicious. We had two pots, one cheese and one oil. Huge basket of bread for the delicious cheese fondue and I ate a ton of it. Probably more than I did of the tray of beer, pork and chicken which was also good. Loved the sauces, loved the service, loved the fonduewein. Tip 1: The oil gets VERY hot so be sure to be aware when you put your stick of chicken in there. It could pop. Tip 2: Always slice open the meat before eating to make sure it cooks thoroughly. [Review 12045 overall, 1828 of 2019.]

I have wanted to eat at this restaurant for years but seems I am often in Munich on Sundays. The restaurant is closed on Sunday. I think there may currently be a little staffing shortage due to the pandemic but the owner was so sweet to me. He gave me a huge hug when I returned to the restaurant when he did not have staff to open the restaurant on time. He bent over backwards to accommodate me. The restaurant is so unique and filled with Bavarian charm. My raclette came with a side salad, potatoes, and fermented vegetables. The cheese and bread where worth the wait. There is an extensive wine list. I will return. The owner also has an impressive bar. I hope to return soon!!

Excellent service and food. Best menu offerings are for two or more, but I was alone so did not get to try one of the restaurant's signature fondues (hope to on a return visit). I started with a delicious potato soup followed by a nice mixed salad and superb Wienerschnitzel. The only reason I give four stars vice five is that the fries (which tasted good) pretty much lower the quality of the meal in a truly charming restaurant. I ended up being the last patron and I very much appreciated that the courteous staff let me enjoy a second glass of a marvelous Riesling and did not rush me out the door to close up.

We searched Yelp for a fondue restaurant and found this cozy spot. The waiter was extremely helpful and picked a great wine for us. He also advised that we didn't need to order/pay for cheese and meat for 2 as that would be too much food. I really appreciated that. The cheese was delicious. The salad dressing was one of the best I've had. It was an oil bass curry spiced dressing that I sipped up with bread. A sharp white cheese fondue served with bread was next along with our beef, chicken and pork main course. Everything was delicious. A great little spot for fondue.

The best sourbraten I've had in my life and my best friends mom growing up was a real German and could cook!

Well i thought this place was outstanding. Some pic the best German food I've ever eaten. The Franken wine soup was beyond sensational and the sourbraten wad probably the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant, which specializes in traditional German fondue, old world and charming as was our server. I'm so happy my last German meal for this trip was here.

For the last 2 years we have been looking forward to being back here again. That time finally arrived and it didn't disappoint. There's are many unique and charming things about the restaurant that it is impossible to list them all. The owner is the most hospitable and charming woman you'll ever meet. The dining room is similar to eating dinner as a private guest in someones century old Bavarian home. The waitstaff is relaxed and very accommodating. The fondue experience is amazing. The soups were some of the best we've ever had. If Im fortunate enough to be in Munich again I will for sure make it here for a third time. Simply Magical is the best way to describe this dining experience. Relax, have some wine and enjoy the company your with.

Very attentive and the friendliest staff/owners you ever did see. The restaurant did a lovely job in maintaining the old school charm which one might expect to see in a town like Munich. We had to order the fondue which did not come cheap but it was worth the experience, we thought. Recommended.

This restaurant is absolutely a must visit destination. The owners, a husband and wife team, are wonderful. They will greet you as if you were coming into their home. The goulash and wine based cheese soup are a must have. The salad is delicious; the dressing has herbs in it you can't quite place. The cheese fondue is amazing, it's a lot but I suggest you order extra because it's that's good. The beef fondue - so, so good. The milk chocolate dessert .... to die for. Come hungry and make a reservation ahead of time.

    CUTE BUT INCREDIBLY CLUTTERED

WHAT A FIND, We came upon this place while walking to our hotel and it looked incredibly cute. 5:30 at night...not a soul there. We made a reservation for 8:00 fearing we would eat alone. When we returned the place was packed with just our window table saved for us. Staff really working hard but friendly. Ordered sparkling water while we perused the menu. Know next to nothing about German wines so just asked for a local, dryish red wine and were very happy. They had beef, turkey, veal, chicken and cheese fondues. Other meals too but we didn't take notice. Got beef and cheese and shared. Excellent cut of beef and wonderful Gruere type cheese with baguette. We loved it. They turned a couple of tables but, for the most part, there seemed to be one sitting and no rushing. We were one of the last tables there and waitress came over to talk. Really made us feel welcome. Not in the least hungry but forced ourselves to share a strudle with ice cream. Great! Came in a heart shaped dish with a heart shaped crispy cookie stuck in it. A little cutesy but appreciated. We haven't had fondue for years. It tasted great and was fun. Food great, service great, highly recommended. Only drawback.....our clothes are airing on hangers because of the oil but, I'm sure they will be fine tomorrow. ADDENDUM: Reading several other reviews I find people stating this place was a expensive. I disagree. Two meals of salad, fondue, glass of wine, sparkling water, desert were 64.00 Euro. I don't find that particularly expensive for the experience. I have to say I found eating out in .Germany, Austria and Hungary surprisingly inexpensive.

We were staying nearby at the Platzl Hotel and kept walking by this place. As fans of Fondue, we had to check it out. We are glad we did! We ordered a little too much, but we ate it all! Very good, very tasty! We discovered that you can get half orders of Fondue so we got a half order of cheese and a full order of "Bourguignonne" Fondue. All in all, we a bottle of water and a bottle of wine, the bill came to 100 euros. About average for a Munich restaurant. If you love fondue, check it out!

Meat, Cheese Fondue... fun to cook and delicious!

The menu is mostly comprised of fondue with a few other options like beef fondue (which is not really a fondue but more like a hot pot from the description) and vegetarian fondue made with veg broth. Some salads and steak are also on offer for non cheese lovers. The minimum for fondue is 2 ppl so we ordered three different fondues for sharing - Trüffel, Original and Provençal. The truffle was my favourite and also for the rest of the people and the Provençal was the great. The original was a bit bland if you ask me and I would not order it again. You get a basket of toasted bread and pickles to go with the fondue and you can order sides like potatoes, veggies and so on. The pickles were actually quite a nice addition to the fondue and tasted great dipped in the cheese. They offered us a homemade hazelnut schnapps to start our meal and it was delicious. We ended up ordering three more rounds of it ;-) and bought a bottle to take home. The Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was ordinary and I would skip it totally. The service was very friendly and quick to start but to took us ages to pay the bill on the way out. A classic Munich problem, quick to feed you and slow to take your money ;-) I would definitely come back here again. It's a great atmosphere and it was packed the whole time. It was a younger crowd and not too noisy. It's a great place for fondue in this town :-) glad we tried it.

What I like the lost about this restaurant is their selection for seafood. In the country where everyone sells pork & carbs, I really really really really realllllyyyyy enjoyed the seafood selections. Though not as much as I would like, but beggar can't be choosers. The Building is amazing where the walls and ceilings act as palettes for beautiful painted art. Stepping into the restaurant feel as if one is stepping through a time portal where one feels they are dining 151 years ago which is how old the building is. The ambiance is quite lively and energetic. Although the highlight is the space, the food is also very good. Their pretzels are served warm and fresh with a firm exterior and an interior that melts as it enters one's mouth. The soup is flavorful and healthy with not even a drop of oil pooling to the top. The schnitzel is as tender as it gets. The servers were knowledgeable and fast but it is always so busy that the restaurant should consider increasing staff as to improve customer service.
