Weinkauf did an excellent job, they were very friendly, everything worked when they left. They showed up on time and their prices were very reasonable. Permits not pulled and work beyond sub-par. Most of the work they did at a job I was coordinating was so bad it had to be redone by another heating/plumbing contractor. They failed to install any backflow preventers, as well as many other issues, after a prior flood and all new plumbing was installed. This caused an additional flood after much of the work was done, requiring us to start over. We never heard back from them, nor were we offered any sort of compensation for the additional expenses. Also there were 2 high-end shop heaters that an employee took with him to "dispose of" for my elderly dad. There was nothing wrong with them. Crazy how absolutely horrible all of it was. read more

Our Under Floor Heating system was mal-functioning. We contacted Weinkauf and were told needed a new board. Board replaced still not fully functioning. Then told needed new pump. New pump installed - still not functioning properly. Then told needed new manifold. Manifold replaced still not functioning properly. Told needed replumbing so could turn pump to make it more accessible (pump not functioning) paid for re-plumbing still no change. Asked that technicians start with the basics and review work already done - was told they were done, would not do any more. I contacted Dave Sweet of Sweet HVAC in Glennie. Dave found out the pump was wired wrong and the UFH system was not purged following manifold installation. 2 simple, basic things and now the heat is functioning perfectly. So - DO NOT trust Weinkauf to finish the work (another review indicates the same essential theme - when the going gets tough Weinkauf quits. I cannot recommend Weinkauf. I caution you about using them. I CAN recommend Dave Sweet. He took over other people's work without a complaint and returned to basics to diagnose the issue. He needed to contact someone else for some advice about one of the issues, but he willingly did that. read more

I live in Oscoda and Weinkauf started a branch here last year and advertised how good they were so tried them when my furnace quit. I have a hybrid system with heat pump and furnace installed by Goyette. The tech came out and found bad control board It took 2 weeks to order and install and furnace still would not run. He give up and I had to call Goyette to finish job. They charged 840 for labor and 812 for a 300 part. About par with Goyette. The repair for 3 parts came to 4170 total, enough for a new furnace. This shows how much these companies over charge and do some poor service. Service 11/25. read more

I was going to leave a crappy review because it took them almost 2 weeks to get out to our house. However their plumbers saved them from getting a horrible review. The three guys that came on December 1st where absolutely outstanding. They walked us through everything that was going on. One of the gentleman that was working on our kitchen sink was absolutely amazing. My son who asks a million and one questions was asking the gentleman question after question. He was so kind answered every question my son threw his way. All three of the gentlemen where amazing. I would have given a full 5 stars however, we payed half of what was owed almost 2 weeks ago. When we went in to pay I was told they where a week out. So it was estimated they should have gotten the time last week. We are a family of 4 with no shower no toilets it was an emergency. The only reason they got 4 stars was because of the gentlemen. They got 5 stars in my book. The company its self well let's say im definitely not impressed. So to the 3 gentlemen you guys rock. Thank you so so so much. They busted ass to fix our plumbing. read more

Had a furnace installed in 2017. Many problems during installation that were resolved, but it was terribly loud. We trusted the company to sell us the best furnace for our cabin. When we contacted the owner, he told us that noise was not taken into consideration in a sale, even though this furnace was in the middle of our living area and next to our bedroom. His resolution was to charge us an additional $2,700 for a new furnace with no guarantee of a quieter furnace. In 2019 we had another company come out to clean the furnace and discovered the "new" furnace installed in 2017 was actually a 2005 model. 12 YEARS OLD WHEN INSTALLED! read more

I called after my city contacted me about high water usage. They sent a plumber quickly, and I showed him my basement where water was rising. He shut off a toilet in the basement and had another worker come and snake some sewage pipes. Unfortunately, I recieved another call from the city that said I still have high water usage. So I called back. The owner said he didn't have anything on record about high water use, and so he was satisfied that the guy did his job. I tried to explain my concerns and that I did mention the root of the issue, but he said he would charge again to fix the issue. I would avoid this company, as the owner does not see m to be concerned about the completion of projects or the satisfaction of paying customers. read more
