I really like this Weis market. Their produce and meat are very good. I especially like their butcher department, which can trim and custom cut any meat. Over the 4th of July they had a great deal on T-bone steaks that were 3 inches thick for $6.99 a lb. It was a steal! The Butcher custom trimmed the meat and all I had to do was season it and throw it on the grill. They also have a nice fish department. The aisles are easy to navigate, and the staff is really helpful and friendly. The store is never overcrowded, so getting in and out is a piece of cake. A rave review about a particular Weis employee: Sandy, at the Hillsborough, NJ store, is the poster child for extraordinary customer service! I asked about an advertised sale product (Perdue chicken leg quarters) since none were out. Sandy helped me and researched. They were out of stock, but found they would be next delivered (at regular price) in 2 days. She took my number and gave me details on when she would be at the store. I called prior to my return trip. She remembered, made me feel more than valued and hugged me when I came in! She let me buy 2 large packs at the [super] sale price. Huge kudos and thanks to Sandy! I dare you, try to get a courtesy swipe of their shopper card without feeling the steel heel of a cashier jackboot down on your neck. It's not enough that the store is trapped in a constant state of dinge - offering absolutely no apology for the sorry quality of their meat and produce (at top dollar) - but merely calling their staff combative would be an improvement. Weis richly deserves to bounce along the bottom on virtually every important supermarket ranking. An enthusiastic thumbs up for their consistency. I loath this store. read more

If you love paying hire price for out of date stuff.. This store is for you. I was the first in line ever to get a club card when the store originally opened up.. But now I refuse to go into that store.. The fresh baked case always has flies in it.. Their meat case is 95% pre packaged. The dairy case , you better check the dates before you purchase it.. The Deli, I use to love their deli but now I refuse to buy anything.. Sorry I dont want my lunch meat to be green. I can't rave enough about their sub sandwich rings. I ordered five of them for a party (I had a gift card and had never been there before) - I got Italian, American, Ham & Cheese, Roast Beef& Cheese and Turkey & Cheese. They were STUFFED with meat and cheese and each sub ring EASILY fed 9, although we cut them into 12 slices. Each sub ring comes with your choice of a container of potato, macaroni or coleslaw salad + pickles and olives. The meats were top shelf, the bread was amazing (we're still eating these two days later LOL!) and the customer service was exceptional. And all of this (the small ring) for only $20. Legit best deal of the year and what I'll be bringing tp every party I go to from here on in! read more

Once in a while, we receive ads from this particular supermarket chain (probably because I live in Central Jersey). This may be the closest location since we aren't aware of any other locations that are close by to my general area. When I go to and from work, I always pass here. Since I had extra time on my hands twice, I stopped here. When you walk into the store, you would see the fresh produce department. On the left side of that was the bakery, deli, and prepared foods area. In the back of the store was the poultry area. The frozen and dairy grocery areas were located on the right side of the store. Of course the aisles of general groceries were located in the center of the store. The cash registers and customer service areas were located towards the front of the store. When I got the ad at home, I noticed that they had some juice on sale at a good price. They had them in stock, and the expiration dates were fine. The person at the register had an "OK" attitude. Well, at least I didn't walk out empty-handed. Even though what I got here was at a great price, I noticed that numerous other groceries were sold at prices higher than where I saw elsewhere. I lowered my rating due to that reason. This reminds me of Stop & Shop, in which most of the prices were higher than the other competitors. But once in a while, the lowest price may be found here. This store is located in the Hillsborough Promenade strip mall. Overall the store looked quite big, with nothing dirty. The shelves in the store were very organized. With that and the majority of the prices here in mind, I'd say this store is just okay. They also have restrooms in the back of the store as well. Since Wawa (across the street) doesn't have any, you could stop here briefly before hitting the road during rush hour. It's right by the poultry section. But if you're in the front of the store, you can cut through the pet food area to get there. read more

This supermarket feels like a secret that no one knows about. Always clean and organized. Great sale prices. Even on the weekend, it is never mobbed like other grocery stores. Great relaxing shopping experience every time. The 24/7 open hours are great too (especially helpful when you need last minute brine ingredients at some crazy hour for a turkey right before Thanksgiving!) I am originally from PA and grew up going to Kings/Weis all my life. So glad to see this staple come to NJ. I can finally get my Weis White Birch Beer close to home! Highly recommended! read more

I don't think Weis is likely to turn into my favorite supermarket but it has its virtues.My wife bought a a fairly ham that turned out to be $7 .I was amazed.I would say a lot of the negative reviews are a little too harsh.It wasn't real crowded when I was there - a Sturday afternoon .Which is a little strange but welcome. read more

Not sure why of the bad reviews. The store is always clean and well stocked. I get the whole loyalty to other markets, but it's really not much more "expensive" than Shop Rite. They have lowered their prices and I really have never noticed a huge difference on my bill. The have a nice meat selection and I always grab the lamb shanks or short ribs when they are discounted. read more

I've been lucky to visit Weis on my way to Vernon, NJ. What a great store! Items I couldn't find in the Grocers we do have. Always wondered why we don't have one nearer to us. The reviews for this store were hilarious & rude. Made me think, ahem, the store and their employees are NOT the issue here. We can't wait to head over. A bright spot during this miserable pandemic! Your Hillsborough, NJ, store is not even worth 1 star. We don't mind paying more money to shop, in peace, but even a quiet store is not worth your prices. Your organic produce has been subpar and several of your employees have acted aggressively toward us. First your produce: your organic bananas sometimes have black marks on their peels. And, more than once, those bananas had black on the inside, too. We wasted our money. The same thing happened with your organic, shrink-wrapped peppers--rotten on the inside. So going forward, we decided when selecting any future bananas, that we would remove any bananas from the bunch that had a lot of black marks on their peels. When we did this, one of several things happened to us as a result of removing a banana or two. Their Front End Monitor had scared my wife --twice-- jumping out at her just inches from her body--almost slamming into her. I doubt it was accidental because there wasn't an apology. He looked away and half ran. This same guy also blocked my grocery cart for 10 seconds and I had to wait for him to move. Someone had also asked a female cashier to run over to us at the bananas with an empty shopping cart. (Managers are rarely visible.) They knew we weren't comfortable with this cashier because we refused to go to her line. And their Front End Monitor tapped my shoulder repeatedly to ask me why we wouldn't go to this cashier's line. Never touch a customer. Use your words instead. And when my wife explained the reason to your Front End Monitor, he was in her face. Sir, you need customer service training. Other issues we have noticed is an issue with their organic eggs. One brand only had a week left before it was due to expire (..unless you can eat a dozen eggs in a week's time..) Oh yes, they sell Alden's Ice Cream. It was "deceptively advertised" by the price per quart. However, it is only sold by the half gallon. So when we arrived home, we had been charged double than the price on their sign. And the ice cream wasn't even good. And don't bother trying to buy a dvd, displayed near their Customer Service Counter. When my wife attempted this, their same Front End Monitor was unabashedly staring her down. Where are all the managers in this store? We never had any issues in this store when Vincent was managing this store. After Vincent left, some of the items we bought a lot of were suddenly discontinued. But most egregious to us was almost being slammed into by their Front End Monitor; twice. We contacted their 800 number and specifically requested to speak with this store's district manager three times. But, it never happened. I have no idea why administration at Weis Markets are paid if not to handle customer concerns? A man named Andy Jones said he'd speak to someone at this store. But he must have spoken to their store manager because he stared my wife down as we were paying for our groceries. Don't bother calling their 800 number. It doesn't help. Ps: Hey Weis, You might want to rethink your subpar food quality, prices, and questionable customer treatment. They could be reasons that your Hillsborough store is devoid of customers. During the workweek, your parking lot generally has 20-30 vehicles in it; based on our visual estimate. But, at the same time, on the same day, we can drive to Wegman's Grocery Store, less than 10 miles away, and Wegman's parking lot (just for their grocery store) has 300-400 vehicles based on a visual inspection. I think we can conclude that there is a great need for grocery stores in this area, so why aren't you busier? And why aren't customer issues being addressed? read more

I shop here when I happen to be in Hillsborough and need some groceries. The store carries my favorite tea, my favorite laundry stain remover, and has pretty good selection of groceries, food, and fresh produce. Sure, some of the prices are higher than elsewhere, but then there are good sale prices on many items. The staff people are nice and helpful too. If you want pre-order your groceries and then pick them up without leaving your car, that service is available. read more

I will never come back after tonight. I myself have worked retail for 3 years in the past and I have never experienced such rude staff. Walked into the store at 8:30 to shop for some food for the upcoming holiday and the staff packing the shelves were very helpful in showing me where to find things. At 9:02pm I was by the bread section wrapping up my trip when a lady rudely yelled "Why are you still here! You need to get out!" to me and my wife. Flabbergasted we asked why and she said they closed at 9pm exactly and we could use self checkout now or leave. Keep in mind we passed several employees stocking shelves and have been listening to the store radio with absolutely no warning that they were closing. If that wasn't enough the lady had the audacity to watch my wife and I check out and when I asked her why there was no announcement she angrily replied "There is usually one and if not that is not my problem". Never have I ever felt so mistreated/discriminated as a customer in all my life. I 100% understand the message given me today that myself or my wife is not welcome here and we will never shop here again. To top it off I live in the surrounding area less than a couple blocks away and rest assured I will advise my community of my experience so they know to take there business elsewhere. read more

Love the store. Friendly staff, reasonable pricing, great when items are on sale, clean, clean store, open isles and nicely placed items.

While I think that the store is ok, it could stand a little improvement. They need to put the nutritional values on the baked goods and they need to have sugar free items for those of us who need to watch our sugar intake. Also, they are not consistent with the meat selections or the produce. Their center aisles are a little wonky, as I wouldn't expect to find the Chili Mix with the Gravy mix, I would expect that to be in the section with the Mexican foods. Also, I don't like the fact that they have cut down the amount of Cashiers and try to force you to use the self checkout or stand in a long line waiting for the "ONE" cashier that is on duty. The store employees aren't always helpful either, I asked one for something that I couldn't find and was told that if it's not on the shelf we're out of it. Wouldn't even look to see if there was any in the back. I liked the store when it first opened, but it appears to have been going down hill over the past year or so. read more

Have been in this store a few times, have seen expired meat in their cases, expired items on their shelves and expired milk. This place deserves a 0 stars . I have noticed a lot of new faces there. There are a few who I can say have been with weis a while. Have had my share of arguments with front end manager about prices and coupons. Have seen the leaders of the front end talking and texting on their phones and ignoring customers. This is no way to run a business. Also they have reduced the value of their coupons. Go anywhere else!!! Not only are the aisles narrow and the prices higher than other grocery stores in the area, but Weis seems to have a passion for selling expired food. This happened on a couple of occasions and I refuse to go back. And I'm not the only one. I've met MANY MANY other people in town who've had the same experience. They've either found stuff in the store that was expired or got home to realize it was expired - sometimes even having mold or bugs in the food. Shame on you Weis. read more
