Horrible experience with the pharmacy here! It took 3+ hours to get medicine after oral surgery even though the doctor requested it be expedited as I was supposed to start on the meds immediately after surgery. Medicine was requested at 12:45 and walgreens reps didn't start working on it until 3:15, after multiple calls to check on status of prescription. Moving to the local pharmacy here in Hillsborough as this isn't the first time this happened to me with Walgreens. read more

I have usually have good service here - whether it's the pharmacy or the store. The store is always very clean and orderly, unlike our CVS! Also it seems that most places of business are shorthanded and poor service is a result of that. More people need to want to work to fix this. read more

This is a group of people who are the most unfriendly team we have ever had to do business with and we continue because they are the only Large Pharmacy in town that keeps medication stocked so it forces a relationship with this group. Walgreens is horrible. I got a flu shot and COVID booster at Walgreens. I received a $ 10 coupon. I didn't realize the coupon expired after 2 weeks. Who does that ? Not only that getting the shots was not a good experience. Also, the only way to communicate with them is using snail mail and it costs you a stamp. Every time I've come for a flu shot or Covid vaccine, it's like they've never done one before. At least 6 people working behind the pharmacy counter, so it's not a staffing issue. Filled out all my forms on line prior to the visit. During checkin, the associate spent 10 minutes staring at the screen and calling other associates over to consult with her. Had to re-fill in my forms. Waited for an hour with no chairs available. Sat on the floor because it's painful to my back to stand for long periods. Only 1 person in front of me. Have been trying to get my perception for a week. They said they could fill it last night I go in today, they said they can fill it in 15 mins I wait there 2 hours the pharmacist that I've seen standing there paper clipping bags for 2 hours says "we don't have it". Guess it takes him 2 hours and no looking to decide he doesn't have it. Actually a public safety hazard. In the 2 hours I was there also witness 4 out of the 10 coustmers they had have a problem with their coustmer service. 30 minutes on hold to reach a pharmacist to call in an Rx that was fairly urgent... I advise all my patients to find a CVS near them. I got an automated message saying that my perception is ready for pickup and when I drove up to the drive through it was closed blocked off and I'm an imuunoserpressed transplant person so didn't want to enter the premises so I called from my car to get cubside pickup no one answered the phone to get cubside pickup for me so I left and had to return home without my prescription because they didn't have enough personal working to preform there duties to serve there costomers properly that day and there always seem to be problems at the 706 rt. 206 in Hillsborough,N.J. 08844 ! Worst pharmacy ever encountered. Went out of my way to pick up Rx today at 8:30 am. Normally open at 8 am, as I pull up am told today they open at 9 am. Never sent out communication to customers. Very frustrating now a return trip. Consistently out of stock on most prescriptions even though they are routinely ordered causing a second trip again. Phone messages that reflect availability to pick up Rx, even though it was picked up 2 days ago. Pharmacy is overwhelmed and mismanaged. read more

Went straight from RWJ Walk In Clinic so I expected to have to wait for my rx. Checked in at pharmacy counter and was told 10 minute wait. After 30 minutes, a woman at the pharmacy counter asked what I was waiting for. She said, "Oh, that's been done" and took it out of a bin and rung me up. I asked why I wasn't called when it was done since I said I would be waiting. Her response "well there is more than one of us here so you probably talked to someone else" Then she tossed my bag on the counter and walked away. If I could give zero stars I would. It never fails that the pharmacist is rude and unhelpful. I used to come here for convenience (close to our pediatrician), however I would rather drive an hour away then wait an hour here. There is only one friendly cashier in the pharmacy. I don't know what the deal is with Walgreens's and prescriptions. I just got an automated call saying my prescription is ready. I didn't know what they were talking about. This is the second time this has happened. A month or so ago my doctor sent in a prescription. The directions were take for 14 days and then as needed. My prescription was for 30 tablets. I had one refill on this prescription. I did not need the medication after the initial 14 days. Walgreens went ahead and refilled the prescription and now says I have 3 more refills. Seems that any new prescriptions that have refills are automatically refilled. In the past you had to opt in for automatic refills. Now it's the opposite, you have to opt out if you don't want automatic refills. I am thinking about in the future using Hillsborough Pharmacy. read more

Today, I got service from this rude Walgreen's staff. I don't know his name but he is a young black man who was rude to me today when he assumed that I (a customer) would know immediately that without myself being told, that the one staff was still in training with the photo area who was working alone in the photo area and another staff, who walked by a few minutes later (past the area), would be a staff who could help me. This rude Walgreen's staff (black young man) said to me in an annoyed tone in his voice, that you (me, the customer) would immediately would known that this other staff passing by, would be a staff to help me at the photo area. This rude staff person kept making assumptions. Additionally, in many times (15 plus) in the past, when this young black man has been the cashier at the register for me, he got annoyed at me in his voice, that how come I cannot read nor do any action on the register customer screen while his employee cashier screen shows screen information at least 1-2 minutes ahead of the customer screen. He makes me very uncomfortable as a customer when I don't have a choice other than him as a cashier. I am not racist at all. Even some of the staff in the pharmacy area also get annoyed at me in their voices, that how come I cannot read nor do any action on the register customer screen while their employee cashier screen shows screen information at least 1-2 minutes ahead of the customer screens. read more

It's a Walgreens, but aside from that fact I was so disappointed in my latest visit here. I normally come regularly whenever I need to pick something up, but I was so disgusted by the behavior I saw this last time. I was there to pick up photos, there was a young lady checking out in front of me- turns out she was an employee. To add, the employee ringing her out ignored me and continued chatting with the employee she was helping while eating a bag of chips. Then when people finally came over to help me, they seemed rather bothered by who was going to look up my order. Just overall unprofessional. read more

Whenever I've had a question and cosmetics you would think the person helping me was a professional makeup artist. I had tried for over a week to use Walgreens in Hillsborough to purchase a commonly prescribed anti-nausea medication, paid for by Medicare part B. They never were able to complete the paperwork to the satisfaction of Medicare. CVS Pharmacist Justin Klein was able to obtain the approved medication in an hour and one half and that time included travel to and from my home! Additionally he was very kind. read more

My last two experiences at Walgreens enforces my disappointment in the lack of small/family owned pharmacies in town. The pharmacy staff has exhibited (twice now) an inability to communicate simple things to customers or to set their expectations. The first time I had an issue, I was going through the drive thru to get prescriptions for my mother and me. The tech sent us some medication and told us to have a nice day. When we looked at the medication, we realized my prescription wasn't there. I paged them back to find out where mine was. A girl answered and told me to wait. We waited for about 3 minutes before anyone came back to talk to us. I asked her where my prescription was and she told me to hold while she looked into it. We waited another few minutes before she came back to tell me they couldn't fill it yet and that they would fill it in 2-3 days. I know I only waited an additional 5-7 minutes, but it was an additional few minutes I could have been saved if the first girl had let me know this the first time around. I was irritated, but considered it no big deal. About a week later, I call them to see if my prescription is still available for pick up. The guy I talk to on the phone tells me it's already documented that I picked it up. I explain to him that I didn't. He looked into the file and told me there had been an issue with my insurance but that I could pick it up in 20 minutes. Later that day, I stopped in their drive thru to pick up my prescription before work. I left my house an additional 15 minutes early just in case (the pharmacy is on my way to work). When I got there, the gentlemen I had spoken with greeted me. He told me there was a cost to my prescription, which I questioned since I don't pay for that medication. He then asked to see my insurance card and walked away from the window. I sat there for over 5 minutes before anyone came back to say anything to me. It was a woman this time who asked me if I was being taken care of. I told her the guy had taken my card. She told me he was talking to my insurance company, it would be another 20 minutes, and that I needed to park my car and come in. When I tried to explain to her that I didn't have that time to wait, she told me to move my car because I was blocking other customers and then hung up on me. I was insulted by her lack of taking the time to understand my needs. I get that there are other customers, but to hang up on a customer who is trying to explain her situation... that is completely unprofessional. So I sat there (yes, I was being stubborn) because they still had my insurance card and I couldn't wait the 20 minutes because I needed to go to work. It was another 5 minutes or so before the woman came back on. She immediately came on the phone with the line, "You need to move your car so I can take care of other customers." I told her all I wanted from them at that point was my insurance card so I could get to work. She put it in the bin and that was that. No, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Not even, "Have a great day." Nothing. I was treated like an inconvenience. That whole 15 minutes of frustration EASILY could have been avoided if I was told that my insurance needed to be called and it was going to take 15-20 minutes. I know this sounds like a long, whinny rant, but I've worked in customer service, specifically with the general public for 10 years. I've learned that one of the best ways to prevent an issue with a customer is to communicate with them. Tell them how long something is going to take. Explain to them why an item/service they're looking for is unavailable. Don't just walk away from them or ignore the issue. And definitely NEVER treat them like they're an inconvenience. I'm disgusted with Walgreens in Hillsborough. As leery as I am giving my business to another pharmacy chain, I'm strongly considering going to Rite Aid or CVS. read more

Their employees have absolutely no idea what they are doing, they run you in circles and anytime I go there to get a script filled, there is some sort of issue. My daughter's prescriptions were dropped off Monday evening to be filled. The antibiotic was ready and I waited a short time. However, they said that they had to order the cough medication with codeine (the only thing that helps my daughter's cough) and it was expected to be in the next day. I called the next evening and was on the phone for 30 minutes, nobody picked up for me. I had to go to the store only to be told it had not come in. Today, it is Thursday morning, and I called and they are expecting it to be delivered today. They claim they have 24 hour service, I think not!! read more

I cannot stress how poorly the pharmacy department is run here. My family and I have been customers since Hillsborough Pharmacy closed in 2011(?) and it has been nothing but awful. Several times I have had to wait for what seems like forever for an important antibiotic, and they always tell me that my doctor had just called it in a few minutes ago, when in reality it had been called in over 45 minutes ago. One time I needed antibiotics for a urinary tract infection and it took over an hour and 30 minutes for it, and I was in pain the entire time. They pharmacy staff is often rude and completely clueless. Yesterday, I went to the drive thru to pick up a prescription and I sat there for over 10 mins without anyone even acknowledging me. Normally I would just go in and pick it up but I had my dog in the car and didn't want to leave her alone. I figured maybe they were just busy and didn't have the chance to get to me so I went in and picked it up, which again is not something I wanted to do with my dog in the car. To my astonishment there was only one person being helped and no one in line. I asked the girl at the counter if they ignored their drive thru after 9 pm and she looked at me totally dumbfounded. There were two other pharmacists or pharm techs back there too. Why do you have a drive thru if you don't pay attention to it? We will soon be transferring our prescriptions to CVS. read more
