a variety of donuts on display

Park Deli on Raritan Avenue (Rt. 27) in Highland Park, NJ., reminds of an older 7 Eleven with a good soup/sandwich deli attached. A wall of cool drinks along one side, and a high refrigeration unit for of meats, cheeses and salads, on the other. Hi cashier counter for good defensive positioning. Most importantly, parking behind the store to avoid the difficulty of street parking and those pesky meters. The space is a bit past its prime, but service is first rate, and the bagel sandwich I ordered was better than decent. Obviously, they don't make the bagels, but their provider seems to know the process. Mine was firm on the outer skin and light and chewy within. Not the best of breed, but plenty good enough. My late breakfast with coffee was just over $3.00, and the owner handed me back my buck to skip making penny change. Nice customer appreciation. I don't get this way often, but if I find myself in these parts again, Park Deli is a solid choice for breakfast or lunch on the run.

Sad Turkey club

I've been here before and used to love it because it's right down the block from me! But lately it seems like the sandwhiches are getting more expensive and they're giving less meat in them. This was my turkey club... most bread is super disappointing! Especially because I paid over 10 bucks for it with a bag of chips. Probably not going back anymore.

Did a random drop-in for a quick meal and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice sandwich selection, unexpected for a place that looks like 7-11. I got a very tasty grilled chicken hero in just a few mins for maybe 5 bucks. I would definitely come back.

These folks make excellent sandwiches, and although they do have some seating, it's not worth sitting. The sandwiches, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are so good, you shouldn't ruin them in the linoleum under the fluorescent lights. My favorite is the corned beef.

Roast beef cheddar and horseradish sauce on pumpernickel. Nailed it!!

Hey Everyone, my names Brendon and I'm a Disabled Military Hispanic Veteran from New Brunswick…read moreCommunity and I currently attend Rutgers University atm. Now i dont like Complaining Honestly but this convenience store is definitely Consistently different and xtra to say the least compared to anywhere ive been my whole life in town. Now keep in mind i have a cast on my leg because its Broken and i come to this store all the time because i live near by on Easton but every time i go in i see the same guy i say Jesi Krishna which means Praise Krishna which is a traditional way to say hello & Goodbye and i always mention I frequent the Temple in Edison which is Beautiful and compliment him on Reading books all the time telling him its awesome & he smart for doing so. Though he just makes fun of me, Bullies me and picks on me for my Broken leg because im slower with it. Today was the most Toxic, Abusive, This gusting incident where it was raining outside and he told me 2 seconds after walking in that if i take more then even a minute to look that i have to wait outside in rain until I know what i want then i can come in, totally Unnecessary & Unwarranted, Keep in mind i spend less than three minutes in store never more so he is just being Cruel because I'm always too nice no matter what tbh. I truly don't understand when I spread such good vibes why he has to be so negative, unprofessional, rude, and insulting in everything he says and trust me he is not shy with his vulgar & abusive language! So everyone as a fellow Rutgers student & Military Veteran based on how I've seen him interact with others, I believe that he just has a personal Bias/Hatred for Military Veterans or Students for some reason therefore making it a very Toxic/ Mental Health wise bad environment that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I truly hope this individual finds peace/Therapy and changes his way but honestly no-one deserves that and neither do i so I'm never going again to his store & in fact id recommend the Bigger and more affordable convenience store 10 feet up from it on Easton called Easton Convenience Stop its Lit !
