I'm usually able to find what I need at WEIS. . . that's not the issue. The people who work here are nice and greet me. My issue is with those old worn out "self-serve" cash registers. I asked for cash back at one of them and it kept my cash back amount, wouldn't cough it up until I notified customer service. I've other problems with those registers, too. I sometimes bought gallons of WEIS brand water, only to uncover that some of the jugs had tiny, almost microscopic, pinpoint holes punched in them. I didn't know that the gallons were leaking until they sat in my kitchen for a few days. I wondered what could make a hole that tiny--a needle? I stopped shopping at WEIS and I now go to GIANT or elsewhere. read more

Deli dept continues to frustrate. Usually now just grab the pre-cut stuff. But nobody waiting today, so I tried to get fresh sliced. Didn't have brands that they advertise having. Then wouldn't fresh cut something for me because it is out in the pre-cut meats. IT WASN'T!!! Then took forever to FIND provolone cheese. Manager right there working in the background, and was part of the problem. Then some of my regular brands out of stock on the shelves. I've been going to this location for over 35 years. What the heck are you doing? Management needs to be changed! read more

Always check the expiration date. This place is notorious for selling old products. Just bought macaroni and cheese and it expired three months ago. That means it sat on the shelf for at least a year. Some things are ok but apparently the store doesn't care as long as they make their money. read more

Not bad, I always need something sweet to put me to sleep and Weis sure helped me out. The donuts were sooo good, you could serve them at a party and noone would know they were from a grocery store. 49 cent a piece is also fair considering they are huge, overfilled and tasty as hell. The rest of the store is also descent, service however sucks. The kids working the register and at customer service are slooooooow. Seriously he wouldn't let us give him the correct change after he had typed in we gave him $20 so his register wouldn't be off. Once we told him the register would be fine, he actually calculated the amount with pen and paper for 10 minutes even though we told him what we would be getting back. So glad to get the hell out of there, if it wasn't for the good donuts I'd never be back. read more

I don't usually go grocery shopping but this morning I needed to get some food for the day . I knew the Giant was open 24/7 but I wasn't sure if WEISS was . I live closer to WEISS. I walked up to the door and it was opened . A man at the door and asked me if I worked there . I told him no . He abruptly slammed the sliding doors and locked it . The time of this event was 6:50am. I stood there in disbelief as he turned his back and walked away . If he would have simply stated they don't open until 8am, I would have turned around left noting their hours . Instead without comment he slammed the doors on me . I got in my car and drove to Giant. If he is slamming doors in my face , what else is he doing to disrupt customer service . Love this Weis. Has a great bakery section, friendly staff, and we'll stocked during Covid times.

This is a terrible store. Weis has slowly gotten quite frankly, disgusting, unsanitary, unprofessional, disrespectful and foul garbage of a store. Very rarely do we go to this store and the only reason we do is because it's extremely close to our abode. Every single time that we have gone, the meat has expired, the meat is discolored, the milk is close to expiration, strawberries and fruit have mold growing on them, the staff has zero idea where anything is at and if you do ask them they tell YOU to go find someone named "Chuck". That's the case that happened today. I have had it with this store. I will never frequent any Weis location again merely because of this store. I also know that it's not just the Simpson Ferry Location.. but also the Louther St location in Lemoyne/Camp Hill and the Weiss on E. High St in Carlisle is also trash. It's no wonder Giant is doing much better and keeps taking my money. read more

Clocking out after work I had one goal. Go to Weis Markets and buy two rotisserie chickens for chicken and waffles tonight. I was planning out my preparation steps in my head as I drove to the store. The rotisserie chickens are always fresh at 5 PM, so I knew there would be a nice selection to choose from. Arriving at the hot prepared food case I could see all the chickens lined up, but there was something very wrong. Upon closer inspection I was absolutely HORRIFIED to find that every single chicken was charred completely black....not a little charred....I'm talkin' seriously burnt charred. The distress hit me lit a ton of bricks. Who did this? Who burnt every single chicken and had then nerve to bag them and place them in the case to be sold? I placed two burnt chickens in my cart and asked the young man behind the counter if these were the only chickens for sale? I also pointed out to him how burnt they were? Can you imagine what his reply was? I'm still laugh crying over his response.....you're going to want to use the toilet and then sit for this one. With a seriously straight face the young man replied...."oh those chickens are ok, those are smoke flavored." I lost my struggle not to laugh...."Smokey chickens? No, they're burnt chickens." The young man then say, "but the internal temperature is 180 degees on the inside." Again, I lost the struggle not to laugh. In fact, I was in a full roaring laugh as I headed towards the customer service desk. As I approached the customer service desk I noticed that there were several employees standing there, one of them was the shift manager and another I assume was a department manager. As I approached them I said, " you men look like you have a good sense of humor" and I placed the burnt chickens on the counter. They both looked at each other shockingly and one of the managers said, "oh no that didn't just happen." I told the managers that the burnt chickens didn't fit into my evening dinner plans and then described my exchange with the young man behind the counter. I told him about the new smokey black chickens and how they were a disappointment to me. The manager removed the chickens and brought them back to the burnt chicken department and left me standing at the service desk. Apparently, the burnt chickens were an issue but the lack of customer service or burnt chickens being offered to me as "Smokey Chickens" wasn't enough of a problem to be addressed.....because the shift manger still at the service desk said, "it's only the outside that's burnt, the skin can be removed." To which I replied, "but the chicken will be dry and my family likes the skin." He thought that was "gross". So, I returned to the charcoal grilling department to see if there were any other chickens available. There were none and the wait for fresh ones is about 45 minutes. The manager was to busy removing the chickens from the case to notice me standing there....so, I asked the young man behind the counter if I could a voucher for the next time, for my inconvenience. My request was denied and I was told "that's what happens to the chicken because they are smoke flavored chickens. I left without a chicken and took my business to GIANT Food Stores in Mechanicsburg, where I found freshly made, perfectly cooked chickens. My experiences at the Weis store lately have not been that good, so I think the extra mile up the road to Giant won't be such a terrible inconvenience. I'm really not a difficult customer or hard to please. However, I do expect to be treated with kindness and have my concerns taken seriously....even about a burnt chicken. *** Post script.....so you know that Weis uses their meat from unsold chickens to make their chicken salad. Don't be surprised if you see a sign in the deli this week....at the Weis on Simpson Ferry in Mechanicsburg that says, "NEW Smokey Chicken Salad" read more

Very poor coustmer service. Not willing to helping. Very lazy represetatives or cashiers. Not one or two even the manager was rude. Worse services then walmart. Never returning back here. They need to grew up and hite people with brain on there sholder. Especially liquor center guy there don't know what they serve. read more
