This is our local store and one we visit frequently. We like that it's relatively easy to get into and out of, has a gas station attached, and the store is generally well stocked. Prices at Giant, like everywhere, seem to keep creeping up but if there was one and only one store we had to go to, regardless of prices, this would probably be it. As it is, we usually visit three stores to get certain things at each one and Giant, this one, is usually on our weekly shopping trip. We don't like self-checkouts and thankfully, this store seems to make an effort to have several manned registers. Thanks for that. read more

This pharmacy is fantastic. The pharmacists and crew are friendly, helpful, and make you feel welcome to their business. Both pharmacists are extremely knowledgeable about the drugs and can answer any questions that help you with your health needs. Another excellent note is there is an APP that takes care of refills and other things. Requesting a refill is easy... requires your phone, the camera, and the bar code on the bottle... Plenty of parking, and a gas station. Excited, there is a Starbucks and a Chinese restaurant inside. Also important information, they have electric car charging ports! I probably would have rented an electric vehicle if I knew. But the store seems to have a little bit of everything! I wish we had one on the West Coast. read more

Giant is our favorite grocery store. I know where everything is, there's often clearance stuff in a frozen aisle, and the people who work here seem to enjoy their job. Tonight we got sushi Wednesday, an excellent deal the fresh sushi bar inside of Giant has been offering for a couple years now. The gentleman working asked if I needed anything, to which I replied a philadelphia roll, please! There weren't any made so it was very nice to get my favorite roll. Give that man a raise! There is also a takeaway spot near the sushi, sandwich, salad and soda combos, ready to bake dinner options (all of which I've tried and are amazing!) and a fresh salad bar. The salad bar has veggies, fruit, lentils, pasta, cheeses, dressings, and hardboiled eggs. I love to let my young son pick out what veggies he will want on his salad. The bakery has donuts, rolls, bagels, muffins, any type of bread you could want, and philly pretzels. There are cookies, cakes, cookie cakes, cupcakes, pies, mousses, Asher's candies, whoopie pies and pumpkin rolls seasonally. I have to use restraint in the bakery because everything looks 100% amazing, and it usually is. Some of the self-checkout registers are finicky, but the kind woman with glasses is always standing by ready to help. I've also needed to return less than fresh foods to customer service, and I'm never judged for it. The employees work hard to make this place super great. Thanks Giant! read more

This is our go to Giant when visiting the Carlisle area. What's to love about it? For one, the layout. Everything in this Giant is placed where it makes sense and is easy to find. If you do find yourself lost the signs and the cheat sheets attached to the carts can help reorient you. If you still can't find something, ask an employee or, gasp, another customer. For some reason, everyone seems willing to help at this Giant. Despite the crowds, this Giant is spacious enough to accommodate all the customers that are shopping. There is no contorting as large carted patrons try to squeeze through you to get one of the million different potato chip brands or rubbing elbows and shoving through fellow kombucha drinkers. Everyone has their own movement zone. This Giant's vegetarian, organic, vegan section is large and easy to navigate. Most of what they offer that fits these categories can be found here. Other Giants have much smaller sections with some items mixed into the general store product population. This makes them hard to find or easy to miss. The produce and bakery at this Giant has never disappointed. The items are laid out in a way that makes them look as great as they taste. I probably wind up spending more money just because of how nicely displayed everything looks (other Giants, see how that works?). I strongly recommend people not to work upfront! The lead check out coach and front end manager are so rude! They judge you from the day you start working! They treat you like you're stupid. I got trained very well and knew how to do everything on register and u- scan by other check out coaches that have been there for years. I just got treated differently because I have a little bit of autism, so that meant to them I didn't deserve to work there! Desgrimination should not be allowed in a workplace! I brought in 21 balloons at 2:45 to be filled for a party same day at 5:00. I left around 3 with all balloons filled. I don't remember the name of the female that filled our balloons but please figure it out because she did an AMAZING job. I brought in my own balloons and string to tie them to. She took my balloons which were assorted colors, and coordinated the strings to match the color of the balloons which I didn't even request. She made the balloons look absolutely beautiful and they were perfect for my surprise party. I came in 3/5 at 2:45 and she did an amazing job. This employee deserves a raise because I came in with no plan and she turned it into an amazing outcome. Thank you to whoever you are and I am sorry I didn't get your name. Your efforts are extremely appreciated and you rock!! Thank you for filling them and making them look beautiful despite the fact I gave you absolutely no construction on what I wanted/needed. Nothing new, same bad service at "big" giant. Oh, there is the fact that tons of fruit is consistently moldy, or becomes moldy within days of bringing home. I did swear off giant however there is not much choice in our town. I do however opt for little giant on a pinch, the lesser of the evils, when shopping. read more

This is compared to all the other Giant's in the central Pa area, not compared ot other chains (Wegmans, Trader Joes, Safeway, Kroger, Food Lion). The Giant in Camp Hill is bigger, with many more selections (say about 10% larger) but bigger is not always better. In Camp Hill you have to deal with the snooty Camp Hillers. Giant in Dillsburg is much smaller with much less selection AND the clients in Dillsburg are rude, unobservant, and make a totally awful grocery shopping experience. Carlsile? Just right. Big enough that even when busy, this location has plenty of space to spread out in. The staff is friendly, and so are the customers. No more getting rammed into and then ignored. People here actually make eye contact... strange for Central Pa, I know, I know. read more

Love this store! Staff is always helpful, selection is amazing, and I truly enjoy shopping here. Their selection really is unbelievable. It's the flagship store, because PA Giant's headquarters is located right up the road, and it shows. Every time my fiance visits, she's envious of the produce department in particular. Sure there are times when stuff is out of season and just doesn't look good, but that's true anywhere. Generally I've always found what I'm looking for. There's a good meat department, foreign food selections, organic (I've never been down this aisle so I can't comment as to the quality), and a salad bar, to name a few. Also, the staff really are friendly and helpful. Can't say I've really had a bad experience with the staff. Everyone's got a smile and says "have a nice day." I used to grocery shop at Wegman's but I live in Carlisle and who has time for the 30 minute drive? I love grocery shopping here! I only have a few complaints though. Very often than not they are out of Dannon Vanilla Yogurt. They have every other flavor imaginable, but who wants to eat Kiwi yogurt? I like to pick up fresh flowers here for the coffee table every Sunday and they used to always be fresh but within the past few months every time I pick up flowers they die within 2 or 3 days. The already prepped food area near the Asian food place is really good. They always have delicious food ready to go and it's super reasonably priced when you don't feel like making a mess in your kitchen. This grocery store is extremely correct. Let me tell you about the produce section. It is extremely correct. It is the most intuitively organized produce section I've ever been to.
