The staff are fine, but my main issue this place comes more from the regular customers and lack of regulations or expectations around behavior in the store. I've been to several prereleases here and I dont think I'll be back after multiple times men (sometimes with their kids present) Kept making sexist or straight up comments on my body or being female in a gamimg space. There is also a HEAVY issue with body odor here. This is not entirely the staffs fault, but I couldnt find staff members available to talk with about this issue, and was waved away when I did find one due to them being overwhelmed. Increasing staff numbers especially during high demand events would fix this. This is a great store, but I fear it is suffering from success in the numbers.

You can enter on the left side which is the retail store and if you go to the right by the cashiers they have a whole area set up for games with snacks and drinks. We picked up some D&D Supplies and my husband reminisced about his Magic days with the cashier. Both men at the registers were very nice and asked what games we were into and made recommendations on other mech we might like. Their selection is pretty vast and seems on par price wise with other stores in the area and online. They also had an area you could play test games and we saw people and families of all ages enjoying shopping and testing the games on display. The new store on Wesley Drive is HUGE. It might be a little hard to find but its located on the right corner of the plaza with the Peppermill restaurant, to the side/back of McDonalds. Parking can get a bit nutty and limited on weekends so just keep that in mind.

When you go there you can't put it on an account you have to pay. Now, you need to have a yearly membership card Instead of telling them where you work to receive the discount. The more that is bought the better the reward program, so most companies want you spending money because it helps them, the employee gets a perk, doesn't harm anyone ( you're paying). Today bill was $75. If I was a member it would have been $50. That's a big difference. When you go there the pricing advertised in 150 font is the member price and the 16 font price is nonmember. I looked over what I was purchasing and put back a majority of it because I know that Amazon has it. This is a losing situation for the company I work for, and for themselves. I want to support local business, please don't have policy that prevent that. I always loved coming there, but can't afford nonmember pricing or yearly member dues, when I can get from Amazon.

However, you're best experience will happen when you know the cost of the items you're looking to purchase. Sometimes there's a huge price break and sometimes there's barely a savings (if any at all). If you know what is and is not good quality you're going to be in good shape. They have furniture but most of it is pretty inexpensive and the quality varies greatly. They recently have tried selling higher end items, but I don't know if that is really meeting the needs of their typical customer. I go there for office type supplies (tape, glue, pens, binders, paper, paper clips), bathroom items (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, cotton balls), snack foods (chips, candy, crackers, cookies), seasonal items (lights, decorations, ornaments, party favors), and all types of other things. I like the fact that I can pick up DVDs for about $3. Granted, they're usually older but I can find great kid videos on the cheap and the kids don't care how old they are - as long as they're interesting. I've found some great bargains in the kitchen area - my favorite cereal bowls, my favorite coffee cup, and an excellent cutting board all come from Big Lots. I found amazing Revlon make-up products. I have found three lipsticks packaged together for less than the price of one in the regular stores. My linen closet has several tubes of Tom's all natural toothpaste that were less than $2 each. Just keep in mind that their inventory is constantly changing. And, you often have to look to find the high end items at a really good price. If you see something you like, take it home because it might not be there the next time. My only complaint . . . Big Lots is starting to suffer from what I call the "Pier I Syndrome". That's where a store starts as a lesser known place to find interesting and unique things at great prices. Then, it starts becoming popular and they start advertising, upgrading, and rasising prices so it's more like a good deal instead of a huge bargain. They now have a lot of their own "Big Lots" brand merchandise. They are usually a better price than what you'd pay for a name brand in another store. However, the best deals at Big Lots still seem to be the national brands at discounted prices.
