So tired of always having to scan my groceries. Every time I go there , there is one , only one cashier open . The rest is self check out if I got a discount or something like that to check my own groceries out that would be different but you have to pay the same price and then what happens if you're sick and you just don't have the energy to scan groceries and you really need something like juice or say or Gingerale medicine and you have to scan your own stuff I think it's sad for the elderly they have to wait in line of people because there's only one cashier open hire some new cashiers read more

Almost all of the registers are self checkout, which is annoying, although there is usually a friendly employee nearby ready to help if needed. I have found the employees to be friendly and helpful. That being said, the return policy here is awful - no returns "due to Covid," unless it's rotten food and this return policy was not apparent to me until I tried to complete an exchange or return. It's almost December of 2022 so I'm not sure how Covid is still drastically effecting the return policy (I was trying to return Christmas lights which were unused and purchased 2-3 days prior). read more

Management here are definitely screwy. Was there last night and all the cashiers are forced to wear face shields, yet the upper level management are walking around talking to people without wearing them. Corona must be pretty smart to know the difference between a cashier and manager. read more

My husband and I use to do all our grocery shopping at Weis on a weekly basis but have since switched to Food Lion. Weis has gone to only one cashier the rest is scan your own, bag your own, and credit card only for the most part. I am against all of it. In my opinion Weis could care less for their customers or their employees. Terrible service from deli. I was just here last week and told I had to order pizza before 7. So today, I made sure I was there before 7. Now I'm told I have to order pizza by 6:30. Nowhere is it written that orders have to be made before 6:30. Now I have nothing to feed my niece and nephew. Two young children left hungry because of covid. read more

My biggest gripe is that the self checkout registers will almost ALWAYS overcharge you. The barcodes often ring up the wrong prices. BEWARE! Pay close attention to sale prices, discounts, BOGO etc that are supposed be applied. Very frustrating that there are so many errors so often. This occurs 70% of the time in my experiences. Only once was it in my favor and I notified an assistant (a $12 item for $1). Of course the next item I rang up tried to overcharge me. So much for trying to be honest. read more

Slowest, rudest, most unhelpful staff you'll find. Don't bother trying to order from the deli as it'll take an hour,you're order will be met with exasperated sighs and and rolling eyes. I won't be putting this staff out again. Sorry to bother you by trying to buy something. read more

Never has anything in stock!!! Deli is SO SLOW and rarely more than person working! Staff is friendly, all but one old lady who works the registers - no humor, no personality. And the Purell sanitizer dispenser at the meat dept is NEVER filled. read more

This place is always neat and clean. Shelves are full and well organized. The staff go out of their way to help you, and will even order something for you if they don't carry it or have run out of it(seasonal canning jars in my case). There is a cashier who is clearly not a happy person, but the rest of the team is great. I wouldn't let one person's issue take away from the overall score. The management is on the floor working right along side their team. Probably what makes this store so nice to shop at. read more

I have never BEEN in ANY STORE where the employees were as FRIENDLY and HELPFUL as this "WEIS MARKET.". My wife has had problems with falling. She sent me to the Thurmont, Maryland 21788 "WEIS MARKET" to shop for her. She told me everybody was so FRIENDLY and HELPFUL. I thought OMG I won't know were to look for the groceries that she had on her list. I retired from Food Lion at 65 years of age 13 years ago I knew just about were everything was located at "Food Lion". She said she knows that the" WEIS" employees would help me. So here I go. After hunting for things that I had no knowledge where to look for the things she had on her list. I ask one of their employees where to look. He went with me and not only pick the things I needed, but also compared the weight and the prices so that I got the best price on everything that I bought. "I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT". It is no wonder that she shops at the "WEIS MARKET" instead of "FOOD LION" which is just up the street. WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY ?.."GOD BLESS THAT STORE". The management at the Thurmont store are right on the ball. Of course it is the rest of the employees that really make the store what ir is. My only complaint is that the store typically is open with full service for shopping and checking out. It appears lately that the Deli area and Pizza areas seem to start shutting down their sections so they are done by 9:00PM. The response I usually get is "we shut off the chicken fryers but we can turn them back on but that will take 20 Minutes to heat up". It is almost like the person at teh time wants you to go to one of teh other 4 places in town to get chicken. This problem was handled very well by Adam and Kenny. We will see what will happen teh next time I want some chicken. In 5 years, this is teh only problem I have ever had. read more
