I am in the area this week from out of state, here for training at a nearby safety academy. On my way to class this morning I needed to run in and grab a few items that I needed for a presentation. Since I only had a short amount of time I asked an employee where to find them. She walked with me to the exact location and quickly helped me locate the items I needed. Another employee also asked if I had found everything I needed. Both employees were extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciated that an employee actually walked me to the location of the items rather than just pointing, or telling me they were in aisle 7 or whatever. The items that I needed are not things that I would typically purchase in a grocery store so it would have taken me quite a bit of time if I had to find them on my own. The friendly and helpful employee service was greatly appreciated. read more

I stopped in just to pick up a few items, and the first thing I noticed was a WEIS employee sitting on the disabled scooter near the entrance, using his phone. If he was on break, there is a designated break room for that purpose. Seeing an employee occupying equipment meant for customers with mobility needs--especially while disengaged from work--sets the wrong tone for the store. At the same time, several areas clearly needed attention. Inside the entrance, only eight carts were available, while more than twenty were scattered throughout the parking lot. A few pieces of litter were also visible near the front of the store. These are basic tasks that help maintain a clean, welcoming environment, and they seemed to be overlooked. When I checked out at the self‑checkout kiosks, another employee was pacing around with exaggerated arm and leg movements, appearing extremely bored. He wasn't paying attention to customers or offering assistance, even when it was clear that some shoppers could have used help. His behavior came across as unprofessional and disengaged. Despite these issues, the store itself was well stocked and organized, which I appreciate. The shelves were orderly, and the overall layout was maintained. However, the contrast between the store's condition and the employees' behavior suggests that management may be focusing more on back‑of‑house operations than on supervising the front of the store. I place a high value on strong work ethics and professionalism at every pay scale. These qualities don't depend on the job title--they reflect pride in one's work. I truly hope management provides clearer expectations and better training so employees can represent the store in a way that matches the quality of its inventory and organization. read more

I can't shop at this location anymore. It's now been about 4 times in less than 90 days that I have purchased food items that are on shelves that were outdated, moldy or were not properly stored at the store. I bought a bag of mixed lettuce that when I got home was wilted and watery. I went back the same day and received the refund but went back to the aisle were I bought the lettuce to see that the whole row was wilted and or the date was passed. I told the lady at the customer service desk and she said she would let someone know. I doubt anyone took them off the shelves. This is the store close to where I commute but I will go further away to get quality food and products. I don't recommend coming here until they change their business practices. read more

Not sure if it's the stores fault or the internets fault. I ended up here because the internet & then their website told me that they carried Little Debbie Chocolate Cupcakes. I have been on the hunt for them lately and was disappointed to arrive and find out that they did not have them in stock. I did cruise the aisles and things and their stock seemed plentiful. Store was fairly clean. Crowded due to the impending snow storm of January 2025. I did not interact with any staff while there, once I found the Little Debbie snack case and didn't find my item, I left. I'd probably visit again if I'm in the area and there's a need. read more

My wife ordered a fifty piece of chicken for her Party. She didn't tell me it was for 1:00. I went to get it 3:00. Needless to say it was cold n soggy. I recently moved near Security Mall and was looking to change my pharmacy. I called Weis pharmacy to inquire about how to transfer my medicine. The pharmacist gave me clear instructions and it was a swift transition. They were able to set me up with auto enrollment to ensure my alerts when its time for a refill. Today I received my first alert for a refill. The alert informed me that my prescription was ready. I went to pick up the meds and it was a line. The wait to get to the register was almost 20 minutes. When it was my turn, my check out was pretty swift. I think they may have been short staff because the pharmacist was working the one operable cash register. May God give her strength. read more

I live in catonsvile, i first started shopping here for my cousin who had brain surgery. This was a excellent choice, not only is it closer to his house, i m a manager for 3 different hotels. And i have been in the customer service industry for over 41 years. And when you walk in the atmosphere is wonderful the empolyees, managers and asistant managers are great, very helpful, friendly and very professional and make you feel welcome. It s like they family and they make you feel that way too. Assistant manager, Debbie, Joleen curry, James, and the manager Dave. They are so helpful, even if they having a bad day. I come in all the time for cash back , items , and the eggs discount is wonderful, cause prices so high. if i have a problem, they help me real fast, efficient, and very family. EVERYONE IN THIS AREA NEED TO COME THERE, AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THEY KEEP THE STORE CLEAN, AND GREAT DISCOUNT. They even got me shopping there, so besides giants and Safeway, i come there. I don't really visit this market much, but today we had the lobster, steamed live on premises at the seafood counter. In past years, whenever I visited Weiss, I did find this market to be slightly above other chains in its category and usually neat, fairly well stocked, and clean, Checkout usually runs smoothly. At times, the office is under-manned, but I find the clerks that help in the self-checkout area courteous and helpful as was the seafood staff who were on duty today, a very pleasant and helpful crew. To be fair, today was my first time eating lobster that came from a supermarket. With that said, the Weiss lobster was basic but was prepared quickly and professionally. I wish my daughter had asked for clarified butter but instead she received cocktail sauce which was actually pretty good - to my surprise - and it enhanced well the lobster meat, which itself was of course not restaurant quality but nonetheless more acceptable & fresher than what I'd expect. Price was only $19.99/pound and the customer (my daughter in this case) selects her/his own lobster from the tank before it's steamed. So for shellfish that comes from a supermarket, I guess this suffices. read more

Just relocated to the area and needed groceries. I stumbled upon Weis after going to the nearby Walmart was just too extra. Weis was closer to my home and clean. They have great looking produce, and meats, as well as a deli with a salad and soup bar. I found some good deals, but of course, you have to have one of their rewards cards. But overall it was a good experience and I will be shopping at Weis more often. read more

I really enjoy their prepared deli foods, the selection of produce is always fresh, as is the salad bar. I picked a package of pre-cooked catfish filet that I reheated it in my air fryer for lunch. It was delicious! The raw fish is very fresh. The employees are friendly and they don't waste time, which means the lines move quickly. The one time that I spoke to the manager with a complaint (minor) it was resolved quickly and without drama. Really great market. read more

I come here because its convenient and 24 hrs. I hate going prime time hours because I much rather have no crowds & less kids crying, yelling and basically being assholes around me in a store. This supermarket used to be good, but over time it becoming less desirable. The staff is younger and the good customer service is dwindling. The produce is ehhh... I try to find sale items and have my coupons ready. I will say the dog food & treats prices are more reasonable than Giant or Safeway and are often on sale. The meat section is fresh, and if you get your seafood from the back by asking the person in that dept, its more fresh too. read more

I don't do my weekly grocery shopping here but it's in a convenient spot close to where I work to pick things up if I need them. I stopped before Christmas and was able to get Christmas candy for 50% off for my nephews! Even though their original price is pretty inflated and the 50% off is similar to what you would pay at a Walmart or Target. The gas prices seem to be pretty competitive for the area. I have stopped her on multiple occasions to gas up after work. The parking lot design is AWFUL and can get pretty congested at times. read more

This grocery store is disgusting! There's not one time that I went here and did not see moldy food. There's gnats flying around all of the fresh veggies and fruits, cotton tomatoes, onions. I went to pick up a bottle of aloe juice and it was moldy inside. Ice cream mixed in with can items. Opened products with food spilling EVERYWHERE! There's mouse traps under the shelves in the bakery section. I guess that you can shop here for sealed items but then you'll still have the image of the nasty things you saw there lol. It's just soooo gross here! Hope they do something soon to make this a better place to shop. It's so sad because I was really happy to have a grocery store close by my house but I guess that I'll continue to make a trip to Ellicott City or Columbia for grocery shopping. read more

Reminds me of frys foods... everything looks fresh and easily accessible here. Great prices too. I was impressed. I am a huge wegmans girl and nothing compares to wegmans. This place doesn't compare to wegmans but it's close. My only issues were the panhandlers outside the store and inside the store as well. Also saw someone white a stuffed jacket.. Friendly warning to others about the deli pizzas from Weis supermarket at Security Square: Yesterday (10/2/15 around 11:40 AM) my wife and I bought a pepperoni pizza from Weis. At the time of purchase, the pizza appeared to be OK. When we took the pizza out this morning around 9 AM to cook, we noticed 5-7 spots of mold growing on the pizza (My wife noticed before I did). We live about 5-10 minutes away from Weis, and put the pizza away in the refrigerator immediately when we got home. The "sell by" date/time on the pizza's label was listed as 10/2/15 1:24 PM. There's no way this pizza should have started growing mold so quickly (less than 24 hours after purchase). We have no way of knowing how long the pizza had been sitting out at the deli counter or if it had been relabeled. See attached pictures for evidence. read more

I went to the customer service area to get a customer card, and there was no staff there. So I got in a cashier line, but the cashier said "I'm closed", even though there was no sign. So I got in a different cashier line, who was super slow, and when I asked about getting a customer card, she just told me to go to the customer service area. read more

What makes a good grocery store? I think fair prices, sales, wide selection, friendly cashiers, quick checkout times and freshness of foods make the necessary trips to the grocery store more pleasant. Weis definitely delivers on all fronts. Plus, every time I've stopped there, they have at least one brand of ice cream on sale. read more

This market is putting a world of hurt on the zillion area grocery stores in Catonsville. It's huge, clean, well stocked. The salad bar is fresh. The staff is friendly. They even have sensors on the freezer doors that turn the lights on and off, which saves energy. The prices are competitive. Glad they are here! read more

I have no complaints about Weis so far, though nothing blows me away. The store is clean and the employees are friendly. The produce selection is pretty good. It doesn't have the product selection of some of the larger grocery stores I shop at, but to just run in and grab a few things it's convenient. A few days I've run in here during my lunch break to shop and have gotten a sub made at the deli, which was very yummy and $6, not bad! I have tried to sign up for the Weis store card on their web site several times and have yet to receive one in the mail so that is a little frustrating. I guess I'll just have to visit the customer service desk. read more

Went there twice. First time wasn't bad. Clean store, well stocked. Went back today and had what is no doubt the worst shopping experience in my life. Waited 8 minutes at the deli before I was even acknowledged, despite the fact there were two employees and only one person in front of me (who ordered one thing). However, the employees were pleasant. Went to check out and after waiting about 10 minutes (there was one family in front of me with about 20 items in their cart), it was finally my turn. Put my 21 items on the belt and that's when the woman in front of me questioned the cashier about items that were not covered by her WIC card. That went on for an additional 5 minutes. During that time, the cashier next to us (who was so sweet and I feel terrible for not getting her name and giving her positive acknowledgement) offered to help me so I started giving her my items, but then the family in front of me left and I didn't want to cause a disruption. As soon as I put the items back on the belt, my cashier walked away with an "uh, I'll be back." I waited a few more minutes during which our cashier spent the time talking to the woman from the family in front of us who was still in the store. No apology. No manager in sight. So I did something I've never done - left all my items on the belt and walked out of the store. I will NEVER go back there! read more

I am truly shocked to see the 5 star reviews on this particular Weis. Though I'm happy that someone else has had more pleasant experiences than I have had. I've been to other Weis Markets with positive results, but this one, my goodness. I find their selection/options of different brands to be minimal, the store constantly has a strange smell (it could be the cleaning products they use, in which case I suppose that's a good thing, but it is a very unpleasant smell), and while some of their staff, when you can find them, are helpful, an equal amount are rude and just don't seem to care. In addition, I had a particularly bad experience when their EBT machines went down... while I realize this can be a stressful situation, the way in which it was handled was quite poor. Once I was ready to check out I realized that no registers appeared to be open. I found one lane that didn't indicate it was open but had people in line. The cashier told me they could only except cash and check at that register. That's it. She said nothing else. When I explained she was the only person working a register, THEN she told me the machines were down. Oh, okay. I get that. Soooo... suggestions? After asking for any suggestions she may have (this wasn't volunteered, I felt like I had to pry. But, she's under stress, being the only cashier working, so no biggie) she tells me there is an ATM up front. I look, don't see it. Ask someone for help locating it, and they just turn around and walk away. I mean, come on! Something. Anything. And I would think they would at leas let people know of the situation as they were entering the store, so they didn't (like me) spend an hour after work going grocery shopping just to get to the one register "open" to find out they can't check out. This experience, I'm afraid, was the final straw for me in shopping at this store. read more
