I've taken my dogs here for over 17 years. The staff is friendly, helpful and understanding. They are excellent at talking you through what's going on with your pet and advocating for their best interest. . Rates are reasonable,l and the veterinarian care is excellent. We've had 2 small dogs (13lbs), have done or immunizations here, 4 teeth cleanings with teeth removal, illness, injuries, allergies issues, personality issues in our second dog that we adopted from another family, and putting down our first dog 2 Weeks before his 17th birthday. They've compassionately walked us through every problem every step of the way. I can't say enough good things about them. read more

I have used this vet clinic's services since the 90's. I met Jim Innis family at church and taught one of his sons in Sunday school. He was a riot, kept saying his dad had an alligator in the bathtub. Jim Innis is a warm, friendly, caring man who I admire very much. He has calmed me thru several pet euthanasias which are never fun. I cried every time and he was kind and supportive. He sees his vet doctoring as a spiritual service to others. He is an example of someone really living like Jesus. Their prices are the lowest in town. Very helpful staff in this very busy practice. The former dental building at 3 mile and Fuller is being renovated to become their new clinic and I'm so happy for them! More room to work, big windows to let in light, will have more exam rooms for their clients. They deserve the upgrade. read more

Had the most reasonable quote in town and even the on call doctor for after hours is super reasonable and a ton more affordable than the other couple options for an emergency. Ask for Dr. Faasse. She is newer but super helpful and does a great job. read more

I moved to Grand Rapids from Chicago, with my Chihuahua, Fox. Fox is a senior dog and has health issues. I found out that his kidneys were failing. The doctor and staff were very empathetic. You can tell immediately, how much that they love animals. They explained everything in great detail. Although they were giving the worst news that any pet owner wants to hear, they did it with heart and explained our options. They made a difficult time, much easier. They are reasonably priced. I'm glad I brought Fox here. We appreciate the way were were treated. read more

The worst veterinarian clinic in the vicinity if Grand Rapids. Misdiagnosed one if my pets for 2 years and another contracted pnuemonia while she was there overnight. The absolute worst!!!! And they are no longer low priced in comparison with other care clinics in town....the reason for a lot of their cliental. This is the last place I would ever take my beloved pet. Awful!!! read more

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. I've taken my dogs here for a long time because this office is extremely affordable, has evening hours, and has a great veterinary staff. The lower rating is due to the front of the house staff. They are often rude or act annoyed by the customers, especially when its busy. If I take an appointment in the later afternoon, its always busy. I've waited for up to 40minutes after my appointment time. I've been talked down to when asking basic questions about heartworm/flea/tick treatments for sale. I basically dread these interactions at this point, but I end up staying with this office because at least I know what to expect and, again, the great veterinarian staff that have always treated my dogs gently and competently. read more

My parents and I have been going here for over 10 years and they've taken great care of all our fur babies! They show great compassion, and are priced very reasonably. My dog Zoey just got fixed the other day and also received her distemper shot and it was only $253. Great doctors, nurses, and receptionists! We lived in AZ for the last couple of years and would come home for the summers. We used this place as our summer vaccination spot because of the low prices. It is very small so I understand why we check in and out from our car or exam room. However this last visit we had a new dog and were charged a new dog exam fee, but our dog was not examined. He was just there for his vaccinations. I think it is odd the dogs aren't weighed and their temps are not taken, as all of our vets in AZ do that as standard procedure no matter what the visit is for. The doctors are very kind and answer any questions you have, it is just a different experience than what we are used to. read more

I absolutely adore the veterinarians! They are knowledgeable, kind and very compassionate clinicians. However, the front staff answer phones with disdain as though I am annoying them, bothering them where I have to remind myself it's the doctors that make this practice what it is. If it wasn't for the front staff, I would easily rate this office with 5 stars. I put on my adult hat, make the call and try to look past the front staff's etiquette because Dr. Innis and the rest of the veterinarians make this office worthy of my business. read more

We have used this veterinary clinic for over 20 years and love all the Drs there. Yes, agree the desk girls really need a lesson or two in customer service etiquette. However, our pets have always gotten the best care by the Drs. there. The very best! We will not go anywhere else for health care for our pets. read more

It's hard to know how to rate this vet clinic. The vets have always been friendly and caring, but the front desk women are another story. If they're on the phone when I walk in, they don't acknowledge me in any way. A look and a smile would be all it took for me to know they saw me. Smiles are in short supply with them in general. The front desk staff really leaves a sour taste in my mouth almost every time I visit. I'd change vets except that I quite like the two women vets at the clinic. read more

This place gave me a wonderful impression,.....at first. Then the experience turned from a.giant nightmare of my yorkie being attacked by two pit bulls and him needing to have his eye removed. Anyway,I called to schedule the appointment and was met by "the owner" of the clinic. What a.friggin heartless bitch of a person. All I can say is thank god she doesn't ,or at least I hope she doesn't practice. In the end I was not only to take my broke ass,my dog,and my business.elsewhere.All because at.the last.minute she decided to exploit my desperation and ask for another $200 above my initial quote. I'm not quite sure where to rate this office. I was told last year that my dog needed her teeth cleaned, and most removed. She was 11 years old with lifelong breathing issues. I had questioned them because several prior vets had stated that her teeth were unhealthy, but with her other issues the risk may have been too great. This office acted like that was ludicrous and they needed to go ASAP. I thought on it for about 9 months. I then readdressed it and asked many questions. She didn't have any mouth pain or problems eating or chewing things. They said they'd do some tests and make sure all was fine. We went ahead with the surgery. It is one of my biggest regrets today. The day she got out of surgery, she was having some breathing distress. This never went away and called for many more visits. The problem after over $1,000 was never remedied. She ended up over a week ago coming in to be put down. She was turning blue and her temperature was dropping. I don't know what happened during this procedure, but I can't help thinking it caused this. The staff (techs and reception) during this terrible day were very sympathetic and kind. The Vet herself was a little cold, as she typically seems. Her cremation took over a week to get back, and I ended up calling and finding out her ashes were in. Nobody ever called me. I'd say they've always been overall kind in the many years I went there. I know there's always unforeseen risks involved that nobody can predict. But I feel their handling during these past few weeks of my sensitive situation has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

We go here for one reason: cost. I recommend Eastown Veterinary Clinic for a more thorough exam, cleaner atmosphere, and friendlier staff. However, for regular vaccinations, Weisner Innis & Schoen is bearable for the lower price. If you are put on hold, hang up and call back. I have been with this service on and off since the 1980's. It has gone down hill over the years and I feel it is hit or miss with the care provided. The receptionists are slow, arrogant and continue to give the excuse that they are "short staffed" a lot. I have had vet techs making a diagnosis with out looking at the voiced concern, along with disagreeing with a customer directly in front of the whole clinic. Most of the veterinarians try and do a pretty good job, I have my reserves about which ones will care for my pet when I visit. read more

Dr. Innis was our vet for many years, through four cats and a dog, and we were never anything but happy. Contrary to some of the reviews, I always thought that the desk staff were very kind, particularly when we had to have an animal euthanized. So my husband called two weeks ago to get an appt for new puppy. They told him all the things that puppy would need at first visit including pricing. He was told to call back to make an appt since they do not schedule out to far due to Covid. I called this morning and the office staff was quite rude and told me in no uncertain terms that they are not taking any new clients until the new building is up and running which should be sometime in June. She told me to contact the breeder and use their vet but I explained it is a 2 hour drive round trip and that was not an option at this time. I then asked why the office would tell my husband one thing and then me something completely different. She cut me off and said that she had no idea who my husband talked to or why he was told all that Information when they are not excepting new clients. We will not be using this office in the future even though they were recommended by another client. Its really sad when you lose business because of rude staff. read more

Amazing veterinary staff. I know people have complained about some of the secretary staff but it has improved recently. They are a very busy practice so people need to be more patient with their staff. The vets really care about their patients. I've received Sunday calls from Dr Innis to inquire about my unexplainably sick dog. He was under no obligation to call and check in. My family has used their services for 30 years and we've never had anything but excellent care. I've tried other vets and i can't find anyone I trust like this clinic. I took my cat here for all of his shots and other needs and experienced no problems until our last visit. He did not want to come out of the cat carrier, so the pet's aide, tipped it upside down and shook it. When that didn't work (obviously) they thought to remove the top of the carrier. By this point, my poor cat was traumatized, so they covered him in a blanket to calm him down. His behavior at the vet was never the same after that. He had to be sedated from then on out. The woman on the phone was very rude and told us to take them to the cat's normal vet because they aren't taking appointments! She then proceeded to tell me they weren't taking anymore clients and hung up on me. Had she let me speak, my family has another dog who is a "client", thereby making me a client. For being new to this office being told to check-out in the exam room or take my dog to the car , ( understand WHY they do this but I didn't know and being told in a demeaning fashion well politeness goes along way)but you get what you pay for. read more

Most of the women at the front desk, especially Claudia, make you want to run in the opposite direction. In my years of bringing our pets there I have not had one positive encounter with them. They are incredibly rude over the phone and in person. What keeps us coming back is the cost. There's a burly man that man handled our dog and threw him on the metal table and pinned him down. Our healthy 60+ lb dog was terrified and started foaming and his eye rolled back. The tech didn't do anything to assure us or our dog that he cared or knew what he was doing. We have had ONE great experience with a taller male tech. He was so sweet to our dog and made us feel very comfortable. All other encounters have left us feeling bothered, upset, and regretting the visit. You get what you pay for. read more

i would NEVER bring any form of living creature to this clinic!!! Talk about unprofessional and rude people! My friend went in with a pet that couldn't keep their food down. It had been happening for a couple days. The pet is old so obviously there is a good chance there is something seriously wrong with it. First, they gave my friend a hard time about finding her name in their system because they "weren't taking new patients". They finally found it and even though she was crying from worry, they showed no sympathy and scheduled her appointment for THREE days later. My vet clinic would have made sure to get me in that day or at least the next morning. When I called to see about paying for my friend, they told me I couldn't do it over the phone even for an emergency. I asked for the Manager (quite a gem) and was told I should take my friend to a different clinic. That is such a great animal-loving spirit!!! So, we found another clinic and they LOVE animals and treated us with respect and even though my friend is a new client, they got her in right away! I think Weisner Innis & Schoen should find another career path. They obviously can't treat people with respect and don't care that much about animals. Maybe they should work in a field that involves inanimate objects only. read more

I understand the comments made about the front desk. Some are curt, some are not so nice, but others are great. More importantly, the care provided is excellent. I recently met w/ the ponytail vet discussed by another reviewer but I had a good encounter w/ him. He took the time to explain some various medical options for my geriatric dog including one (laser therapy ) that their clinic doesn't do. It's not the kind of place where the front desk staff is going to come over and swoon over your pet. in fact all pets must remain in the car until it your turn. I actually saw a dog fight in another clinic years ago so I am not opposed to this rule. In the end, your pet will get great care here. I have been bringing my dogs here for about three years and I am very happy. read more

They had false information for why my dog was put down. They also had made false records for my dog. if you have a dog or any animal there ask for your records and check them. they had my dog as not being neutered when he actually was neutered, they said he didnt have his rabies but he did and in order to have your dog registered your dog or any animal has to have there rabies shot. And my dog bones was registered. He was also utd on shots and they said he wasnt. they didnt record any of his records or treatment they did. That would explain why they are cheaper. A horrible place and the customer service is horrible also. the receptionist are rude and inconsiderate. will not recommend to anyone for this vet. If you go you will regret it. read more

I do not agree and can only guess they believe them to be reasonable because they haven't looked elsewhere.
