I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tittle and everyone at Eastown Veterinary Clinic. Everyone's love of animals is palpable the second you step in - the gals behind the counter happily greet us and our fur-baby each time, for instance. We had a routine follow-up, and our visit was massively delayed - because Dr. Tittle was assisting two dog emergencies (ingestion of chocolate and a heart attack). The entire staff was extremely apologetic, but frankly, I don't mind waiting; if that were my pet, I'd want my vet to be able to give that much time and attention. And Dr. Happel actually figured out our kitty had feline herpes, after we'd spent 2 years trying to manage her inappropriate elimination. Plus, they're reasonably priced, and with the app, it's easy to keep track of appts and prescriptions. Enthusiastic, incredibly friendly, and exuberantly in love with our furry family members - I couldn't ask for a better place to take our kitty. read more

I'm shocked by the recent reviews on Eastown! I've been seeing Dr Tittle for over 3 years now with my 2 dogs. Sure their prices are a bit high, but they go over high & low estimates for any potentials before providing any service, so I don't understand the folks complaining about cost. And the level of care they provide is beyond worth it. Not only have they helped my senior dog recover so much from her ER vet anxiety/trauma from a past incident through their fear-free practices, but Ashley single-handedly located a splenic tumor on my senior dog just by palpating her belly that almost certainly would have killed her otherwise. Both my dogs have had surgical procedures here and were handled with the utmost care. The texting line is also a huge help for minor issues. I won't trust my senior with anyone else (we're headed there today for an echo!). If you're looking for the absolute minimum hands-off care, this is not the place for you. But I truly feel Ashley & the entire staff treat my dogs like their own. read more

I have been bringing my cats here for a while now (around 3 years), and I'm just piecing together a few things (thanks to similar reviews too), and I feel extremely taken advantage of. In 2023, I was bringing my cat here almost monthly because he had a bizarre lip wound that kept growing. Instead of listening to my concerns, they jumped to testing him for cancer. I left in tears, paying nearly $800. I'm ashamed to say, I was so worried about my cat and he wasn't getting better, that I didn't question this behavior. They continued to test for severe issues, another vet bill for $800 some. This happened at least three times. Thankfully, I finally realized on my own that my cat was allergic to his food. I do understand animals can't speak to us, and they have to explore into the issues at hand, but every time they were quoting me insanely high prices and I would be at their office for 3-5 hours. Today, I brought my other cat in, who happened to be experiencing stomach issues/vomitting. I was firmer this time, and told them what I believed the issue was. Still, the "low end" cost they quoted me was $780. I ended up leaving paying $500 some, after refusing some of the tests. Again, I was here a total of 4 hours. I feel like they finally listened to me at the end of the appointment, stopped doing x-rays, and gave my cat the treatment she needed. Why wasn't this step one? Why wasn't step one: okay, this cat's been vomiting, she's dehydrated, get her fluids and anti-nausea meds and see how she does from there? I just don't understand. Finally, I *do* understand you want to test for every single thing under the sun, but this feels INCREDIBLY predatory. Of course people are going to say yes, because we think you're the expert, and we love our pets. This place is taking advantage of you and your wallet. I had a hard time leaving this review because the staff are genuinely nice and I just have a hard time believing any person/business is capable of something like this. Do not go here. read more

Do not waste your time or money here. I'm disappointed in myself for not looking at the reviews before going. To start, when our cat was being examined the tech was going over heart worm prevention. She point blank told us you better hope she does not have them because if she does there is no hope for her while she laughed. I understand this is their everyday, but it didn't feel great to have her joke about this as we brought our cat in with serious concern of a lump on her back. I then spent over $1,000 to have the lump examined. I did not think much of this as I was concerned and wanted to do whatever I could to help her out and find out what the lump is. After doing a wellness check, testing of the lump and a talk with the vet I thought we were in good hands despite the outrageous cost. I received a call a few days later letting me know the lump came back as a sarcoma tumor. I was told 3 different scenarios of what this could mean or look like. Almost the whole call I was silent in shock and hurt for my poor baby. Toward the end of the call the doctor was discussing setting up another apt to discuss these scenarios more when she realized I already had another follow up scheduled as they still needed a urine sample as obtaining that was unsuccessful in our first first. She advised we could speak then about everything. When we came in for the follow up they took my cat back and asked me to pay and check out before she was done. When I asked if we would be speaking to the doctor as I was told the front desk told me I didn't have an appt to talk to her. When I explained I was told we would speak, she told me she would look for the doctor. She sat up front on her work phone for 10 minutes then went to the back. When she came back she told me the doctor did not have time for me. I then expressed my frustration as I had waited a week to discuss these scenarios and options more in depth. I had no idea what to do and if we opted for surgery who to contact. When I asked for a referral the receptionist told me "you know a referral is just sending forms and you can do that yourself" I explained I had no idea who to talk to and I didn't have any records as they hadn't been shared with me. I asked for a phone call to which I was told I may get one after the vets shift. I left frustrated with tears in my eyes. When I was called I explained how I thought we would speak and immediately the dr snapped at me and told me I was wrong and that she never told me that. Needless to say that whole conversation I was being gaslit into thinking I was never told we could chat and that I need a separate appointment. She also told me I told her I for sure did not want surgery. I did not say this as I hardly even spoke during our phone call. At the end of the call she very rudely asked me if "my communication issue had been resolved" at that point I felt so defeated, it wasn't even worth trying to stand up for my self. I finally recieved the medical records a day or so later. In the records the receptionist made me feel like a fool as I read how she described the scenario. She put in there I was crying and the doctors notes continued to gaslight and say I was wrong. I went to Cat Clinic North a week or so after this and they treated us like family. My cat was examined again for only $200 (this included pain medication that was not ever offered here). They gave us all the answers and options we needed along with an immediate referral to an oncologist. They have continued to reach out and check in on us and my cat as we wait for her appointment with the oncologist next week. It shocked me how much of a difference these experiences were. I did not want to write this post but after the amazing experience we had at the Cat Clinic, I felt compelled to share with others the poor experience we had at East Town Vet. read more

We brought our 12 year old cat in after she had been yelping in pain. Luckily we got in when they had a cancellation. Everyone there was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Really nice vets and techs here. I love that they give my dogs peanut butter pops while we wait. Clean interior, nice new building, efficient service. It's great that they notify you what every part of the services will cost. I go with the majority of their recommendations but sometimes opt out of something here or there. This is one of the pricier vets in town, and my one complaint is that they don't take American Express which I find Unusual. but for me and my pups it's well worth it. read more

I brought my dog in for a wart on her butt, that was bleeding. We waited over 40 minutes just to be seen by the veterinarian despite not being busy. We ended up paying over $200 just to get a rabies vaccine and a sample of the bump, only to be told that she would require general anesthesia along with a slew of all of these other issues she had... because she is an old dog. It felt like a sales scheme to try to rack up as many procedures as possible. She is a 13 year old dog and we went in to take care of just one thing that didn't even get taken care of. Eastown veterinary clinic is awful and over priced. I would not recommend to anyone on less they have money to shred. Since I have a new kitten I had requested an appointment online then received a phone call about it later that day. When I was on the phone I asked about an estimated amount. All they said was they would be a standard wellness check up for about 75 and then all the shots following would be estimated on the day of your appointment at the clinic. When I got to the clinic, they said the fvrcp and the wellness check up would be a total of around $200. Which is insane because at previous clinics I've been to the first amount of shots. Should only add up to $50 max. When I found out it was gonna be that much I decided I would rather spend my money elsewhere at a cheaper location and they still wanted to charge me a cancellation fee of $65 and then failed to inform me that that was going to happen over the phone when I scheduled that appointment. I'm never coming back here it was a scam of money. It cheaper to go to furwellness to get your kitten shots. read more

We have three pups, two are now nine months old and one who just turned one. The pups all love coming to the vet to the point that you'd think we are going to the pet store. The staff have been a dream to work with and communication is made so easy via text message etc. Our one year old puppy had health issue after health issue in 2021 and every single time the staff educated us about our options & always suggested what they thought was right for our pups. We are looking to breed our dogs in the future and to have the comfort of knowing we have vets who we can trust is priceless. read more

This establishment claims to be transparent about pricing but the staff constantly added more things to my bill without consulting me about price! Made an appointment to bring my 2 cats for their yearly checkup since it looked like a super nice facility and close to where we live. When we got there we waited 30 minutes (it wasn't busy) before the assistant came into the room, and quoted me over $800 for the exams, bloodwork, and a few vaccines. They're AAHA accredited but i still can't justify paying those absurd prices for the most basic things that would've been half the price anywhere else. So I started coming here about a year ago. They finally healed my dogs eye and got her on track with all vaccines. One thing that stands out is the fantastic customer service. I can tell the people who work here love pets and are passionate about veterinary care. The front desk ladies are always so kind, polite and happy. Even if I'm in a bad place seeing them smile and be so nice fills me with happiness.I alternate through different vets but I've never had a problem because there is consistency in the quality of compassionate care. Although it's expensive it's worth every penny. They take a loving approach to my girl Shea and never stress her out beyond her limit. It's really unique to find a vet who doesn't immediately muzzle her. The techs are extremely skilled and gentle with Shea. I am so grateful for this place. I feel compelled to further downgrade my review because the case is now absolutely settled in my mind: this is a profit-driven business, not purpose-driven, as they claim. It is easy to make yourself appear the latter by modernizing your building, offering millennial-friendly tech savvy services, investing in quality marketing and a visually appealing website, and then paying people to leave you yelp reviews (and no judgement here people, I too fell for this initially which was why my first yelp review was five stars). It's not a difficult formula, but it is an expensive formula. How do they pay for this business model? By upselling you without pause and without consideration of your needs or expectations. Actually, upselling would imply that they coerce you into buying things you wouldn't otherwise. What they actually do is just charge you for things that are unwanted and unnecessary without discussion and without you even being aware of it until you're at the register. And when you ask why you're being charged for that and whether that's necessary, you get nothing but judgmental comments from the techs. You may very well think it's necessary to test my dog for everything possible when I really only had a question about the consistency of their poop. But it would be nice if we could discuss those tests before hand and if you could take the feedback that I disagree about their necessity without guilting me and making me feel like a terrible dog parent. You may think my dog needs the influenza, kennel cough and a litany of other vaccines every year, but I disagree and I think I would have a good proportion of the veterinarian community (or at least my aunt who is a veterinarian) behind me considering my dog is at very low risk for those things. In the end, it isn't necessarily the excessive charges that I have a problem with, it's, at best, the inability to have any honest discourse about the charges, and at worst, the downright deceitful ways in which they go about arriving at those charges. Worst of all, it's the judgment they cast, whether intentional or not, upon those who dare question the shotgun style approach to preventative medicine they seem to take with your animals. This clinic is expensive and they will try to up sell you until crack. I have taken my cats here on several occasions and have worked with each of the vets. I would never recommend this clinic. The vet techs start off your appointment by talking to you for a few minutes and then turning a computer screen toward you with a breakdown of their recommendations for care. Every. Single. Time. I have to tell them to take about half of the frivolous charges off. It is awkward when you decline the random stuff they are suggesting the to top it off the vet techs seem judgmental like you don't care about your animal. Last time I went they charged me for a service they "forgot to charge me for last time." I was confused because it had been over 2 weeks since my last visit and now they magically remembered to fix their accounting mistake? I told them I was not going to pay it and they honored my request. 1 point for Slytherin. The vets are always suggesting a slew of tests for your animal that rack up your bill. It's as if they don't actually have a clue what's wrong with your animal so they just test everything and cross their fingers that they find something. Lastly, they give you $5 off of you write a review on yelp. Maybe that's why where are so many 5 star reviews. read more

First off, it's in a great location... right in the heart of Eastown! The staff is always so kind, and very helpful with any and all questions I have. I personally love how they are able to communicate with you via email and text. I'm really busy, and am not able to take phone calls regularly. I don't doubt that they care about my pet. In fact, I love the phone follow ups from the vet after I go in for anything. That said, they SUPER UPCHARGE AND OVERCHARGE! They are extremely pushy on having you do literally everything possible and they are by far the most expensive vet I've ever used. Must be how they afford everyone in their office wearing new apple watches... I would say at least half of every visit has been their staff trying to upsell me on some new flea medication for my indoor pets or a new dangled preventative dental treatment I should do. It always feels a bit scammy. That said - I really lost faith when I had to have a legitimate medical procedure done and was quoted $700-1000 (double the quote from another vet - but I felt the service here would be better) and that 700-1000 ended up being $1689! For a dental extraction?! As if they hadn't raked me over the coals already - I was told over the phone that my cat's post op bloodwork was inconclusive and that the vet wanted to re-test her free of charge. Somehow, that "free of charge" re-test ended up costing me over $120... My advice - if it is life or death and you want a good vet, check them out. For everything else, avoid them at all costs, or it will cost YOU an arm and a leg. read more

I've been going to Eastown Veterinary Clinic for over 5 years and have spent literally thousands of dollars with them between preventative care and emergency care. I have gone back and forth on what I would rate this vet when I finally do. Today was just the straw that broke the camels back. I can say the way the front desk runs things they would rather lose a patient they've had over 5 years vs. lose $50. This morning I had an appointment at 9:40. I was alone, taking care of my two dogs, one who was recently attacked by another dog and has two large sutured gashes and a penrose drain in his neck that he needed removed. I hadn't been to the vet since before covid so I called instead of texting to check in. I called at 9:47 and was in the parking lot at 9:48. I was not put on hold but immediately addressed by a woman named Melissa from the front desk. Suddenly in the middle of asking me questions to get my dog checked in, including what parking spot I was in, she says "it's past your ten minute window, we can't see you today" I immediately checked my phone at it said 9:51. For starters I was in the parking lot checking in during this "window" and second, I'm not sure why she would have bothered going through the check in process if it was past time to be seen. After me being in shock and arguing this with her she said she would speak to someone. While I waited with her I was in my car with my shivering dog who has a drain coming out of his shoulder and still healing and shivering non-stop. Finally she comes back and again insists nobody can see me today. I'm beyond frustrated and felt like I was about to be turned away, further risking my dogs health and probably charged a no-show fee. I asked to speak to a manager and when I finally did they said it was a "miscommunication" and said with zero hesitation they could see me. There was no apology. After I returned home I then had to drive all the way back to collect a leash they forgot to return to me. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced has been when I come to this vet. I trust and like the doctors... the only reason I gave 1 extra star, but I will be looking into other vets because I don't think they truly care to ensure the customer leaves happy. read more

At first I liked this office... The reception you get coming in is great. And nice treats for the animals as well. But they did a skin scrape on my dogs tail to check for mites when I already told them what was going on. Stud tail. I know he has this problem and had previously had it treated at Red Barn. (Just wanted to find a vet I could make appointments for as you can not at the other place) He did not have mites and I already knew that from a previous vet visit. They scraped his tail so bad that the hair is still not growing back in the scar months and months later. My dog is a bit nervous going to the vet and I told them that he has piddled at the vets before and apologized just in case it happened there. Well it did happened... Now they won't see him unless I medicate him first. Brought our older dog in and that was fine as it was a normal check up. But after being extremely overcharged none of our animals will go back! For 2 dogs with nothing really done other than a skin scrape and a few vaccines was almost $900 for their visits! read more

I wish I felt better about this vet I've been going to this vet for several years. At the beginning, it seemed like a very great place that was new and friendly, but I've had more problems the more my dog has been seen here. My dog is 16, and has had several seasonal allergy issues with her skin and paws. Every year it gets worse and worse, and with each visit, she gets at least three vaccine shots and boosters along with medication. The medicine works to mask the issues, but the symptoms come right back, with more vaccines administered when she gets a checkup after the medication runs out a week or two later. Every time I've come back for a checkup, the symptoms have gotten worse, and they never have provided a solution to help other than "we can help ease the itch". They've offered me allergy shots, which are extremely expensive to start up and continue with since it takes months of testing and blood work. Apart from this, they've never offered a solution. The amount of vaccines and shots she's been given also concerns me greatly, especially since she's already not feeling well from allergies. Alongside this, I've had multiple vets through the years, and one substitute vet who did not look at my senior dogs history, and told me to use steroids to help her itching, since it was so severe. My dog has NEVER been the same since. I feel terrible that I was told that this was the best decision for my dog, and consented to it. Within two days I had to call to get her off of them, but then was told I couldn't stop completely, and had to wean her off. This was one of the hardest weeks of my life, and wasn't informed enough of the consequences that could happen. Lastly, the appointments have been longer and longer each visit which have been making my dog more and more upset alongside the new staff make my dog anxious. They keep pushing a thousand dollar senior dog dental work during my visits, when I've been told by other vets that it's normal and she could just use a bone to help. Even though I've said no to the dental work, they ask every time, and make me feel terrible about it. I was also told to get her off of hard bones that could break her teeth, but this actually helps reduce plaque according to the other vets I've spoken with. I feel terrible that I've spent several thousands of dollars here with my dog feeling worse off than when she started. All this being said, I wish I could love this place more than just feeling disappointed and cheated. The people are very nice and do genuinely seem to care, but the experience and consultation for my dog is unfortunately not good, not to mention the costs. I felt it important to post, since my dog has not been the same since this vet. I wish them the best, and hope things change. I will not be returning. read more

This place is clean, and such a nice layout since they finished construction (cats and dogs have separate entrances now). Every staff member is full of love for the pets and they treat my dog like royalty. The groomers here do an amazing job as well (our Shepherd/Coli mix was cleaned and de-shedded and came out a whole new woman!). They also use all the latest technology, which is cool! The negatives are that this place can be pretty expensive and when discussing options for care of your pet the nurses have a tendency to only focus on their choices for what's best and don't do the best job of explaining options, cost differences, etc. read more

I have been a client of Eastown Veterinary for several years, with two different dogs. Most recently, I brought my 7 month old puppy to them, she had some minor vomiting and diarrhea, as well as blood on the floor. She was alert, eating, and not showing any signs of distress. Two different veterinarians could not recognize that my puppy was going into/and had started her first heat cycle. I spent nearly $1,000 with them over two visits, and no one at their practice ever brought up the idea that my dog was starting her heat... I had to ask them. I had noticed blood near my dog's loose stool on the floor, and she had also had mild nausea. At the second follow up visit, the vet would not even confirm my dog was in heat until they did a urinalysis, although at this point it was obvious, she had swollen female parts and teats. I was visibly very disappointed and upset that the vets completely missed what I considered a basic skill for any vet. I was discussing my disappointment with the front desk staff, since I was unable to talk to the actual vet after the urinalysis as she literally just popped her head in the door and would not even come into the room so I could have a few minutes to talk with her. When the vet heard about my dissatisfaction, she came out and asked what they could do to "make things right." I was pretty disappointed and didn't want to make a scene there at the front desk. I suggested we all think about it over the weekend. What followed for nearly two weeks afterward was a series of phone calls and voicemails juggled among several different staff. I had asked that they issue a partial refund only for the diagnostics and treatment that I considered off the mark. The partial refund I was asking for was not even half of what I had paid. They have made it clear that they will not issue any refund at all. When asked if they have ever issued any refunds to any customers in the last year, they refused to answer and hung up on me. I was very patient and did not want to be a difficult customer. I was confident that the practice would be reasonable and come up with a solution that would compensate for their huge mistake in missing what is a very basic diagnosis. I was wrong in expecting any such reasonableness on their part. I have decided to take my pets to a different veterinarian from here on out. I hope my next vet will have the common sense and basic veterinarian skills that Eastown is lacking. read more

Pete, my mini-Goldendoodle, LOVES Eastown Vet. He goes berserk in the car when we're still a couple of blocks away. Last week he had his teeth cleaned and a cyst (benign!) removed, and today he scratched open his stitches. He's in pain, of course, but he is still so happy to be here. Why wouldn't he be? After his procedure last week while he was in a post-op kennel waking up, one of the techs crawled in and snuggled with him to help alleviate his crying. This is just one example of how well Pete has been treated here since he was a puppy. I wouldn't dream of taking him anywhere else. read more

This is my last straw with this garbage "veterinary clinic" after prescribing an inadequate amount of medication to make my cat better they are now holding the meds hostage saying that I need to come in for an appointment first. When the last appointment I was there. "Doctor" brockman was not able to provide a single shred of medical advice to help remedy the situation. They clearly only care about money here at Eastown vet.
