They worked with us even though we were close to our due date and we couldn't have been more thankful. They were perfect for us. Each of them have their own strengths and they work together wonderfully. We would've been happy with any of the midwives being at our birth, and that really provided us with a sense of calmness as we were approaching our special day. They were fully capable of guiding us through this major milestone of our lives-- and Libby was specifically amazing! She went above and beyond. If you're unsure about home birth, call or email them. I am grateful for the empowering experience I had giving birth with these midwives, and am glad they have found a new home. I just went in for my well woman check and was treated like a dear friend, and a human that mattered. It was nice to see everyone again, and receive care from provider whom takes my concerns seriously. The office is in transition as they adjust. The midwives are working with UT hospital on developing a women's pavilion or wing, complete with a natural birth center. For now, they have birth balls, showers, bars, adjustable beds, and nitrous oxide available to mothers in labor. The hospital will be installing labor tubs sometime soon. As the practice grows they plan to hire lactation consultants and educators. I am excited that UT will be teaching future OB/GYNs how to work with midwives and best support women wishing for natural labor. I look forward to watching the University Midwives flourish!

First of all, they noticed that I barely passed my glucose test and had me take the 3 hour test, which I failed. I'm so thankful to have been closely monitored in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Secondly, the delivery process was a dream. I was able to speak to the midwife on call to decide when I should come in when I started having contractions. They got me back very promptly and honored my birth plan. They explained every step of the process for me and always asked permission before doing anything. When baby girl was stuck, they worked with me for almost three hours, trying different positions to avoid using the vacuum. I cannot recommend this team highly enough!

I'm due December. You do see multiple midwives, I've seen about 6 of them and only 1 more than once. Not a problem for me but I know some women prefer one doctor. They are in the process of opening their own hospital for water birth and other midwife services. Right now they deliver at UT.

My birth plan didn't go as planned, but I got the "A" team by my side! Sarah was there through most of my time at the hospital and I received outstanding care from her. When I called them I was already frustrated with all the OBGYN offices in Knoxville. when I called this particular office and informed them like all the other offices, I got sorry we are booked out until February Immediately. This office could absolutely careless about you. Humans in Knoxville are just a number. Think about that before you move here.

When I called I was able to get an appointment within a couple of weeks, which was great! The office was clean and the check in process was easy. I saw Dr. Saunders who was wonderful (everyone at this office was very nice). One of the most stressful things about moving is finding all new doctors (at least for me). So, I'm happy to have found a great one right away!

I saw Dr. Pierce a few days ago because I was having lower…read moreabdominal pain and felt that my IUD was infected and/or had moved Infection: He did a test for infection but told me it would be at least a week before the results would be back. I saw my PCP today and she was able to tell me within 15 minutes that there was no infection but that I did have inflammation. Movement of IUD: He essentially blew me off and acted as though it wasn't possible for my IUD to move. I was scheduled for an ultrasound SIX weeks later. My PCP immediately scheduled me for an ultrasound at which I found out that my IUD had, in fact, moved which was causing my pain. Thankfully I am able to advocate for myself and have a good PCP. Otherwise, I would have been left in pain.

It came back slightly normal, so they referred me back to my primary doctor...who can't do anything because she's not a gynecologist. The office scheduled my appointment at a different office without telling me. I'm only in severe pain, and it's only my health. Why would I need to know where my appointment is?? They are also against PCI compliance as they wrote down my debit card information. That's illegal. My favorite part? They said my left ovarian pain could be my appendix, bowels, gallbladder, or kidneys. Waste of money. Waste of time. Go anywhere else.
