I have never left a review on yelp before, but I feel compelled to warn anyone who is considering renting a property managed by this company. . . Don't do it! Seriously. I'm still waiting for the return of my deposit, and I will probably have to take them to court. I am ready for that, however, as the crusted filth I encountered throughout the apartment when I moved in told me a lot about their standards. I have LOTS of pictures, as well as exhaustive documentation of every correspondence I had with them over the past year. Also, unless you think that "the plow broke down" is an adequate reason for failing to shovel the parking lot for the entire snowy winter, their maintenance standards are terrible. And that doesn't even mention the dog poop everywhere, or the only marginally functional laundry facilities. P. S. If I could have left them zero stars, I would have. read more

Upon taking management of the property I already lived in, the man in change, Miles, told me at our first meeting that I don't pay enough rent and that he would love for me to move out so he can double the rent on my unit. It is a modest accommodation and the rent I pay is fair. I've never failed to pay and sometimes payonths in advance when possible. After this meeting they leased my neighboring unit to a family of drug addicts and then failed to do anything at all about the problems they caused. So I had to live with that for nearly a year and a half. Now that unit has been vacant for 6 months. And they intend to enter my apartment when I am not home. I do not trust this company with my private space and I want everyone to know it. Miles, I hope you get the virus you lousy fool. read more

My family has been trying to move to the area and had an appointment with Welcome Home to look at a few rentals. We have a dog and had communicated that with Welcome Home and thought we found a few places that would work for us. After a 4 hour drive from Ellensburg to Pullman we meet with the Welcome Home agent and she told me that none of the houses we had appointments for view would allow pets...really? then why did you tell me they would... Anyway she handed me a listing of all their available properties so I went through the list to find a pet friendly place. I handed the list back to her having chosen 3 places and she told me that even though the listing said pet friendly that actually none of them where. The place was very busy and I felt like I was just an inconvenience to them so I just left and used craigslist to find a great place. Thanks for nothing Welcome Home read more

Do you like having people come to your place to show it without any notice at all? Do you like being told that you haven't paid rent that month, despite having paid, only to have them go "oops," in the end? Welcome Home is a great example of a company that fleeces college students with no previous rental experience. Take a LOT of pictures if you want your deposit, and good luck getting a service request in for something that isn't BROKEN. For example, our carpet has been loose at the kitchen transition for over a year with no response to my emails. When you go in the office, you get to feel like you're interrupting a girls brunch, which will likely continue to go on around you as you try to sign lease paperwork. Don't rent from here, don't rent from "White Pine" which is a new name for another horrible rental company. read more

We rented a storage unit for my daughter that attends WSU due to covid back in March. We left all of her belongings valuables and limited edition books she had collected through the years. We went to go move her in to her apartment yesterday and went to axess storage on rodeo dr. In Moscow to get her things and the storage unit is infested with rats ! We called the number o. The sign and spoke with Theresa who was extremely rude and got no empathy or concern from her! She told us we are SOL AND it's not their problem. I asked to speak with a manager! The manager refused to give me her name and told me to use my home owners insurance to replace my daughters things. I explained that we didn't think that her things would be damaged by rats in her facility and that is very unprofessional. She told me that they will not do anything about it and she wasn't concerned about the rats which made it worse!!! read more

I have rented from Welcome Home for five years and have always been satisfied with how quickly maintenance and repairs have been completed. While the staff/management is initially very helpful and kind, once I signed the lease everything went downhill. Our house had a dryer that emptied into the wall (not outside), and I had to fight them to get this fixed. When my zebra finches started dying off one by one, I started to worry that the house had mold issues; this would make sense if the dryer had been emptying into the walls for who knows how long. When I identified mold in the bathroom cabinets and within the walls of the bedrooms, they refused to do anything about it. Unfortunately Idaho law does not protect renters in this situation, so I had no other choice but to break my lease and move. The overall disregard for my animals' and my own health was appalling, and I would encourage anyone looking for a place to live to stay away from this company :( read more

Moved 1500 miles to find a filthy disgusting unit! When first signing up we were assured that the unit would be painted, cleaned, and everything in working order. None of that happened. Obviously they cannot be trusted to manage. Took months to get everything decent. I ended up doing the cleaning myself! Protect yourself and take lots of pictures before you move in, we certainly did. read more

My granddaughter was forced to sign a new lease with Welcome Home even though she knew she would be graduating and possibly moving to a new job. Welcome Home told her she could "turn the contract" for a fee of $150. Well, she found two (or possibly more) sets of renters. Welcome Home told potential tenants they would be responsible for any damage my daughter may have caused and must pay a $1000 deposit and two months rent before moving in. Then they rented other apartments to them and threatened to sue my granddaughter for non-payment of rent. We are still waiting to see what they will do. read more

This property management company has a poor reputation among the community, but i decided to give them a chance to prove/disprove it themselves. I found a property that i liked, but it had a number of large issues from the previous tenant, such as cat urine soaked carpets throughout, tire tracks through the yard, broken shelves in the fridge, damage to walls, etc...and so i worked with a few individuals, and was promised that (a) i was first in line for the property; (b) i could move in on a particular date; (c) all repairs would be made prior to lease signing and (d) that i could view the property again AFTER repairs but before signing lease to make sure the repairs were all complete (i asked for that because of the reputation they have in the community for failing to make repairs after you sign the lease). A mere THREE days after these promises were made, i was on Craigslist by sheer coincidence and noticed that the property that was supposed to be mine already was newly listed as available!! In a panic, i called the office and was told in no uncertain terms that they were still seeking other tenants and if they found one that was willing to take the place sooner than me, that i would be out of luck (despite the promised move in date we agreed upon), and they weren't even going to tell me that they were doing this until AFTER they replaced me!!!! If i hadnt noticed this myself, i could have ended up homeless! Also, they told me that my previous agreement to sign after repairs was no longer valid and if i wanted the place i had to sign immediately (FISHY at best). I had a cow and told them this was UN-professional at best, but because i did like the place, i ended up agreeing. I then proceeded to attempt to contact a manager/owner to see if i could receive assurances that these repairs would be done. They caught wind of my search and called me the next day to tell me that they were "cancelling" my lease and did not wish to rent to me--all because i was asking them to do what they are LEGALLY obligated to do by making repairs and keeping promises to potential tenants. Long story short, this company certainly dis-proved their reputation--they were way WORSE than what i had even heard! DO NOT RENT WITH THESE PEOPLE. No property is worth the endless frustration you will experience and the sheer lack of professionalism is STAGGERING. If you decide to rent with them, please follow other reviews, and get all repairs done up front, take pictures and be prepared for the worst customer service you can imagine!!
