Imagine if you will, driving your vehicle into a shop, knowing that the only thing needed to be…read morefixed was a wire end connection, that broke the positive wire free from the starter, everything else running perfectly fine, to hearing back from the shop that after they had fixed the wire, that now not only will your vehicle not start, but in trying to start it it makes a terrible grinding noise. Starter motor now obviously has a new problem. After poor treatment from shop staff, paying $150 for the wiring fix, and no information given as to how the vehicle you drove in, now needs to be towed to be moved, you tow it to a friends shop to find out the cause. In examining you find that not only did they do a shotty job on the connection fix, but they had obviously taken out the starter motor to make room to do the fix, and most likely dropped the starter motor in process, because the nose cone of the starter was broken, and the broken off piece was just dropped inside the transmission casing, hence the terrible sound. The shop took no responsibility for their f' up, even knowing that the starter was new, and still under warranty. Welcome to SK Auto! I have never had worse treatment or service in my life, and can not worn enough people to STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHYSTERS!!!!!!!

We were approximately 2 miles north of the Buckley Bay turnoff for the Denman Island Ferry where we intended to stay the night after a meal in Courtenay. Fortunately, we have membership with the B.C. Automobile Association and contacted them for help. B.C.A.A. were, as always, excellent and before long Ted from Bowser Automotive was there to give us shelter with his tow truck from the heavy traffic and poor road conditions created by the storm while he jacked us up, removed the offending left front tire, torqued the spare in place, and made sure we had the correct air pressure all with a smile on his face. While we were all wet and cold, no one smashed into us and we remained alive and were soon on our way.....forever grateful to Ted and his truck.....with thanks, Sandy and Monty

My 2016 Smartcar had what it seemed an issue with the clutch. It was slipping and after checking…read morewith the mechanic he informed me that the clutch was not good anymore and that it would cost me about $5.000 dollars to fix. At this cost it would make no sense fixing the car. As a result, I ended up selling the car for parts to a good friend who is also a mechanic and after further review he determined that the actual problem resided in a $104 dollar sensor. It was not the clutch. This sensor would present itself as a clutch problem when in reality is just a faulty sensor. Coast Auto either did not know about the sensor or did not check properly. I lost about $6K as a result. Sorry but I will never return to Coast Auto.
