Amenities at the park include a playground with multiple playscapes, a splash pad with a wading pool, basketball courts, tennis courts, public restrooms with changing areas, walking paths, and convenient access to the nearby Neponset River Greenway. My family and I visited Ryan Park this past summer while we were cycling along the Neponset River Greenway. I had previously visited the park back in 2023 while I was cycling the trail with my older son. He had a lot of fun playing on the playscapes. Unfortunately, I didn't bring his bathing suit along on that trip and he felt bad that he couldn't play on the splash pad. On my more recent trip to Ryan Park, we were joined by my wife and younger son and this time we made sure to bring bathing suits. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the splash pad had been completely redone since my last trip. The newer splash pad had features that were more consistent with a wading pool. Both of my sons had a blast splashing around. Once swim time was over, we all enjoyed our prepared picnic lunch on a nearby picnic table. Afterwards, both boys had fun running around on the playscapes. Overall, my whole family thinks that Ryan Park is a great place for young children and it's easily accessible by motor vehicle, bicycle, or public transportation.

Why did I only find this on the LAST day of summer??!?…read more Seriously though. This spray park is AMAZING. It is really just a water slide short of being an actual tot water park. You would pay a $60 entry fee for access to a little water play area like this at a big water park. It's got a really good sized wading pool with lifeguards on duty. There are tons of spray features - an alligator, a turtle and a snake. There's also this awesome bucket contraption that fills up six buckets with water and then dumps them out over and over. It's totally fun! There are plenty of benches, with nice sun canopy shades overhead. There's even a bathroom / shower facility adjacent to the water features! That's just the water park. Ryan playground is seriously stacked. There's a huge area with two giant play structures. It's got a wood chip base (not updated with the rubberized surface that many newer playgrounds have) and some benches. There are also tennis and basketball courts! And it looks like they are currently finishing construction of a walkway to provide access to the Neponset River walkway. I'm excited for that! Last but not least - this is Boston after all - there is a parking lot! YES - parking. It is small, but dammit, it's there and it's free!!! We will be back SO many times. I wish it didn't take me this long to realize this place was 5 minutes from my house. Hidden Bostonplayground gem!

A family-friendly park, Hemenway is a nice place to rest and/or do some stretches in the middle of…read moremy morning run. For the two years I've lived nearby, Hemenway has been maintained well by the local council, and is regularly enjoyed by local families. There is a basketball court, a children's playground, a nice expanse of dog-poop-free grass and a rock garden. I always see joggers using the park in the morning, and every weekend there are at least a couple of games of basketball being played. It's a friendly and low-key park, and everyone seems to use it quite fairly. A lovely addition to a friendly part of D-ster.

The best part, though, is the steep 20-foot slides! Also a good place to walk a dog, fly a kite, play baseball, or anything else you need a big grassy field for.

The MC Councilman Richard Ash announced the entertainment such as the Drag Queens from Provincetown, the 3 were extremely talented by Lip synching popular songs then BOOTY VORTEX the DISCO GROUP WOWED THE AUDIENCE from 70's and 80's! Then presented Scholarships to one Senior of Quincy High School and one from North Quincy High school! Plus and award to the Pastors from The Church of Presidents across from City Hall! The hit entertainment was Quincy's own son.....TORRENCE who performed several songs along with his band and dancers! So much activity and food such as Black Creek BBQ, Aahhh ROMA LLC and Ice Cream Truck SMILES by the MILES and a popular Beverage BREAK ROCK BREWING COMPANY Tent. So many Vendors and so many attendees truly enjoyed a fun full day on the Park for Pride 2025

The older kid area had several slides perched up on a hill. The ground is rubber so no worries about the little one getting hurt. There is a splash pad but it only had a small misting spray so not really a true splash pad. The little kid area has some shade in the morning but the big kid area has no shade. The gym floor is used recreationally throughout the day by elementary school children for their gym class. Each side of the court has completely different rims (one is double rimmed and one is not)....the floor is also completely warn and don't allow for quick stop and go play....this gym simply benefits the team that hits the most jump shots. It's equally as hard to drive as it is to defend against it; again, because of how slippery the floor is. Post game write ups and stats are inconsistent, inaccurate, and often times delayed for all leagues but the top one. Don't expect anything impressive/on time. Post season play is rushed to allow time for the upcoming spring/summer session. This resulted in almost non existent updates for existing leagues. In terms of timing of games...playoffs were planned on an adhoc, on the go basis to accommodate those who run the league. This league is not worth the money unless you are in the most competitive league. The guys who run this league clearly don't consider the fact that we all pay the same amount to be a part of the CACbasketball league and expect to be treated like it. My advice for anyone who chooses to play in this league -Go in with low expectations and understand going into it that you are overpaying for an under delivered service offering.

The infamous Bfab and Tibbs do a great job posting every players stats, game lines, previews, game summaries, and orchestrate All-Star games at the end of the season. It's those little things that make crappy basketball players like me feel like they still have something and keep coming back.

It features a 1/5 mile long track (that's 5 laps equals 1 mile for the non mathematicians out there) circling a football field. Nice and quiet usually, although school teams do use it during the school year at certain hours. There is also a full basketball court there, which I've never used but looks really nice. Only drawback is lack of parking. The park doesn't have it's own parking lot. Only street parking on residential Birch Street.
